Taken from a facebook thread about the pricing of the Iyanden Supplement:
The owner of the No Mans Land games store in Maidstone, England, appears to believe that his customers are MUGS:
He also appears to not know the difference between copyright theft and 'personal use'.....

Sounds like a stereotypical rich donkey-cave bragging.
I'd take his comments with a pinch of salt, as with most self avowed "rich" people. If you meet a bloke in the pub who within ten minutes of chatting says "Oh I own my own business and I'm worth over two million" (I have) then nine times out of ten hes just a braggart, and Id reckon this blokes just trying to wind people up in that vein.
I mean feth me, how big was their dividend again? 24p a share? With shares at 6 quid a pop you would need to have a feth load of shares to make 12k on them a year. If this guy was being honest he must have...er.. what... about £350,000 worth?
To have that in simple GW stock he's either a fething millionaire, or he's a lying bastard, if the former, why hasn't he retired?

The May 22, 2013 announced dividend was 16 pence per share.
Games workshop's share price is 735.00 British Pound Moneys.
Assuming quarterly dividends, that's 3000 per dividend pay-out. Let's also assume 16 pence per share per payout.
He'd have to own 18,750 shares to get 3000 British Pound Moneys per pay out.
That's 13,781,205 British Pound Moneys in stock. I call bs.

The thread has gone now, but he basically claimed that as a shareholder, he was entitled to torrent GW books!
His store is: https://www.facebook.com/nomanslandmaidstone?fref=ts
Don't think he's the entrepreneur he thinks he is...

Haha! My math was a little out then, he's either a lying bastard or worth 14 million pounds in GW stock alone.. I reckon I called it right regardless.
Plus, I doubt someone so dumb that they think owning shares makes it legal to torrent files would have the brains to operate a computer, let alone become a self made multimillionaire.

They never gave me a mug. I don't own anywhere near the amount of stock this guy claims to but I used to buy an army each time I received a dividend payment..

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do |

Just so - but said senior management also loses their job when they say it within earshot of said customers. That said, if he's a multi-millionaire who runs his LGS for fits and giggles, he's slightly removed from the usual salesperson-customer paradigm. That being the case, the only negative consequences that can be impressed upon him are impact to his personal reputation and character. Which is, as far as I can see, what's happening here. And thus we are all joined in the great circle of profit. All hail Nagus Rom!

In my experience, and I've spent more than a bit of time tending bar, all alcohol does is make people say what they think and act like they are.
The "I was drunk" defence is paper thin at best, these words came out of the same brain, just with its inhibitions chemically reduced.

Eh, the "my customers are idiots, but they make me rich" attitude is pretty much standard across corporate America (and anywhere else with similar attitudes towards business). Hell, many corporations (and executives/shareholders) have the same attitudes towards their employees.
The smarter ones just know never to actually say so publicly... especially when your product is a luxury good.
Case in point: there's a "luxury T-shirt and jeans" company in the US (I can't remember which one, it's in the vein of Abercrombie/Fitch). Instead of cloaking his feelings in a believable story of "we don't carry 'plus sizes' because we don't want to spend the extra money to produce a size range we might not sell as much of", the CEO very publicly stated "we just don't want fat people to be seen in our clothes".
Completely idiotic, and completely avoidable.

Piracy is not theft.
Piracy is copyright infringement.
Stealing an item from that guy's store is not the same as torrenting a product.
That being said, that doesn't excuse that guy from going into a Romeorage. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

Ah. The share price currently shows 730.00. I mistakingly took that to be seven hundred thirty British Pound Moneys. If it's 7.30 BPM, then he owns 137,812.05 BPM in stock. Certainly plausible, I suppose.
