I really wish they did matching left/right arms. I love the two right most swords, and putting them dual wielded would look awesome.

The old school metal daemon prince is one of my personal favorites, it offers enough detail to look good and enough ope space to still use cool effects like wetblending without having to pull out your hair trying to get the effect looking even

Whatever the Swarmlord is holding in this picture. Looks absolutely brutal and exactly what I would expect a Tyranid crystal/bone sword to look like. Seriously, why does nobody ever paint those swords like crystals? Swarmlord's unit description says his swords "differ from commonly seen Tyranid Boneswords in that each sabre has a crystalline growth, not indigenous to the galaxy, at its core that partially protrudes through the blade's serrated surface."

My vote goes to the humble chainsword. Ok, it´s clumsy and probably will never be a real life thing but it´s just too iconic to not mention it.

But what about the lowly combat blade used by scouts everywhere? That clearly has to be the best sword of all time

What are you looking for ideas about?

There are basically 3 kinds of GW sword. One that looks horrible and can be dispensed with, one that looks cool because it fits the grimdark ultra-calibre macro weapon theme, and the final type that looks good because it actually looks usable.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I'm working on my St Celestine and I hate the sword the model comes with. I don't think it fits well with the character. The flowers are good looking, but not with her, and it is very, very tiny for being a special named blade. I'm thinking i'm going to make an open-centered blade like the GK DK greatsword. In the center groove i'm going to put the muzzle of a hand flamer. The hilt will have a trigger.

Picture a flamethrower with a giant bayonet, on a stick. I think that would fit the spirit of the model.
