 ....
And I though lego was bad...
Once stepped on a chunk of something that was supposed to be firmly fastened to the side of a 1/87th scale building - little wall lamps hurt, but I found it so all was well I suppose.

I remember back when we and my friends first started palying warhammer fantasy. We were playing a small game of Brits vs Woodelves on the floor. My best friend opens the door and walks into the room without looking closely. Steps on a metal version of this sorceress (the mounted one with the staff repalced with a little crystal ball at the hand) He was only wearing socks and brought his foot down right on that sword. I was impressed by his stoicness in not yelling, just gritting his teeth and bring his foot up and in our direction, asking if one of us would remove this from his foot. Yup, sword had sunk a good 1/4" into his foot and had drawn blood. We removed it and he bandaged his foot. To this day the sorceress has her sword painted halfway down with red and is known as the Slayer of "Mike the Grim" lol.

Even simply moving that unit was enough to impale a finger if you weren't careful. I've seen two horrific injuries from those. One, a GW staff member went to grab a whole unit off the table at once, and ended up with 20 bleeding holes in his hand. The other went to grab one, and the spear tip went right up under this finger nail. All the way. It's amazing how a grown man can do a high pitched girly scream. Personally, the only model I've stepped on was when we got the 3rd edition starter, and I had the Dark Eldar. We were playing, and someone yelled 'Don't step backwards!'. I was in the process of doing it already, and heard that *crunch*. Dark Eldar Spliner Cannon, broken at the ankles, knees, waist, wrists, elbows, shoulders and neck, Splinter Cannon snapped in half over the belly. I wasn't very happy.

The blood on the spikes and teef of my killa kanz is neither made by citadel, nor paint. I stabbed myself painting my nine kanz like twenty times. Runner-up is the GW ruin with those pyramid-shaped spike on top. Unless cut off at the top, skin will provide little resistance to those spikes. I once gave myself a 3" scar with those when playing cities of death.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

I stepped on one of those extra pointy bits from the imperial basilica building kit (like a kind of super, pointy gothic wall post).
Also a friend of mine choked on a firewarrior during his sleep... Not entirely sure how it happened, I had some tau on a board on the floor, next to where my friend was sleeping. I think he must have fallen asleep with it clutched in his hand for some reason and then put it in his mouth during his sleep.

I've played with a good friend who was trying to get the tape out of the tape measure which wouldn't budge. He yanks hard and out comes the entire tape measure... Straight onto the table. Where an entire platoon of guardsmen happen to be waiting to be crushed to death. Absolute destruction and dismemberment. Poor soles.
Th worst part was stepping on the arms and guns of the fallen that littered the floor.

My avatar of khaine lost two wounds In battle vs gaurdsmen, same turn was knocked from table, broke two arms off, and his metal sword went up my foot :( During first round of a tournament to. why i was bare fiot at a tournmanet was becuase their was confmy chairs and i took off my flip flops for part of it... Should have kept them on.and being me, I can't just go home from tournaments, I have to finish... So I got a paper towl, some tape, taped the paper towl over my wound, and spent the rest of the tournament with a no armed avatar. He looked a whole lot less scary without his arms. And I was a lot less concentrated with my foot wound.
Not fun.

Rite of passage, that one.
Had an x-acto #1 handle with #11 blade (regular pointy) roll off my desk and into my foot. About an inch deep.
No lasting damage (it might have been before I was a gamer, though. As it was distinctly High school years).
Just a few days ago, though - I was replacing the blade on my #1 again - when the blade slipped out of my hand and dropped into my thigh (through my jeans).
Small (3mm) deep and wide. Missed anything vital. Including arteries. Missed artery by about 3".
I now have a lap apron (leather).

Friend got tired of his tank antennas breaking off when transported.
Replaced them all with brass rod.
I was playing an Apoc game with his stuff and got a double impale into the bottom of my arm. Original cut tip into a wedge. Between opponent moves I was filing the tips.
His pinning was fantastic: not a single antenna fell off.
I personally cut and drilled cool looking "caps" for all the various whip antennas later after being poked a few more times.

Worst moment of my gaming life was playing warhammer fantasy against an Orc and Gobbo player with one of the old big Metal Wyverns, which happened to be his pride and joy center piece.
I'm usually pretty cordinated and careful sort of guy but I was wearing a pretty thick woolen jumper. The Wyvern was in my deployment area and I had to lean over him a heap of times during the game. Towards the end I've leant over and as my arm came back up one of the horns on this guy has looped into the woolen jumper.
Needless to say I hadn't notice and his bastard of a horn didn't snap off as I've straightened back up! (how I will never know as that thing weights a ton) Instead the wyvern was flicked up in the air and we both just stare as it loops up then comes crashing back down onto the concrete floor. Smashed into every component piece and made some nasty dents in the details as well.

Lol that was my wyvern, with the old porkos pigstikka, eh he glued back together pretty good, hard to keep an orc down. The sound it makes as all the parts scatter across the garage is the worst.
A few years before that I had the old wood elf metal dragon sitting on a high shelf and a friend of mine was standing in front of it and he went to wave his hand at me, and his sleeve caught on the snout of it and pulled it down to fall on the hard wooden floors and shattered into every piece it possibly could. That one never went back together properly.
I should probably avoid metal monstrous creatures with wings....
