I'm not too good with all the resolutions for printing and what not, if I was to get this add on what size would I be best off printing that at do you think? Or is it impossible to tell from the 150dpi thing?

The sizes they said will be fine:
Battle map dimensions will range from 15”- 25” in width to 15”- 25” in length, and the Immoren map will be printable up to 41” wide x 33” high

If you are planning to use the battle maps alot I'd suggest taking them to a local banner printer and having them printed on vinyl, it'll be about $60~70 but will last "forever".

It says you can print it 41" wide by 33" high (which is pretty big) in 150DPI, and at that size, 150dpi would be fine. You could also halve the size and double the resolution if you wished, but a map like this wouldn't really need it.

DPI is resolution, not dimensions, so doesn't matter specifically

Web res is 72dpi
magazine and book res is 300dpi
most home printers can print up to 1,000dpi
fine art/photo prints usually run from 300-2,000 DPI depending on how much of a perfectionist and what equipment the printer (that is, the person who prints, not the machine) has poster res (viewed from 5 ft or back) is 150 dpi, which is the resolution PP is sending their money to you at, so, if you like looking at your game space from 5' away and pushing things with sticks, or you have poor vision and prefer not to wear glasses, you'll do fine.

If you're like me and lean over the table when moving stuff, look very closely at distances to be sure it's not actually 1/8" off and sometimes get bored and look at the map while waiting for your turn, you'll be plagued by the print equivalent of something about this resolution:

Ditto. I tried the table top years ago but couldn't get over the fact that they are able to design huge robots that run around the battlefield (which we don't have now) but couldn't design a gun that could fire more than 20 or so feet (which we do have a lot of). But the video game looks like it might be fun. Wish they could make it for the iPad. But its the iPad thats limited, not the developers.

Balance and gameplay over fluff. In the RPG the weapons can have a pretty astonishing range (Something like 5 real feet IIRC). In the TT I don't think the models need to fire any farther.

I'm not sure that is the case, the rifles and what not at least are the same as the regular TT game.

And bring on additional single player stuff!

For their effective ranges, sure. The extreme range on a sniper rifle is about 72", more if it has a scope.

IIRC, 1" equals 6', so your average 10" range gun is shooting 60' as an Effective range, extreme range of at least twice that.

Damn, I'm not a Menoth fan, but he looks really good.

Going by the art, he looked like the nerdiest... but that model rules.

I can't wait to see the Cryx one.

Yep. Also, rules=/=fluff. We know that Kara Sloan's rifle has more than enough actual range to hit a target from a mile or so away. And that Defenders are used as supplementary wall guns(both examples seen in the Wrath fluff during the Khador seige) to pound approaching armies. 14" range indeed, eh?

As Gentleman_Jellyfish states, it's all a gameplay reason to balance out range with melee.

Latest update with Cryxian goodies.

CRYXMAS COMES EARLY!
Update #20 · Jul 26, 2013 · 2 comments

We've got a couple exciting updates that we can't wait another minute to share with you! And they both feature that most lovable of all the Cryxian bonejacks, the DEATHRIPPER.

BLACK HEART
The latest installment in our Canvas Art Print series has just been completed. Called BLACK HEART, it features WARMACHINE's original femme-fatale, Warwitch Deneghra, along with her battlegroup of insidious bonejacks and the terrifying Slayer!

This gorgeous 32" x 24" Canvas Print can be obtained by pledging at the EPIC reward level or as an Add On.

DEATHRIPPER IN DOTA 2
Our good friends at Valve have helped us do something incredibly fun for one of their games, DOTA 2. We are thrilled to announce a new WARMACHINE Deathripper Courier! Your cuddly new friend will deliver you items when you’re too far away to add them to your inventory, and he’ll do it with Cryxian style! You can find him here.

Due to the way that Steam works, we’re not able to give away codes and make this an Add On, but we’ve got skins coming that we’re going to provide for free to anyone that has backed WARMACHINE: Tactics at the New Recruit level or higher.

And if you haven't checked it out already, WARMACHINE: Tactics is on Steam Greenlight! Check it out here and give us a thumbs up!

REWARDS TABLE
Last for today, we've assembled a comprehensive rewards table that we hope will make navigating this crazy land of Kickstarter a little easier for all of you.

Thank you for your support and have a great weekend! (By the looks of things, though, you may be hearing from me again pretty shortly...)

My continual thanks,
Matt Wilson

The prints look really nice, I can't wait to see the Menite one, even though they're a bit too expensive for me at the moment (new babies are expensive too ). The rewards table should help people confused about the different levels.

They've updated that rewards chart twice. I'm not going to post the most current one because there's probably more mistakes they have to catch.

Also, a Steelhead Rifleman is the next unlocked merc.

That's underwhelming. I was hoping that the steelhead thing would expand to include riflemen as just an optional loadout, rather than a whole other load out

Expecting a Warmachine game to incorporate variant loadouts is probably a mistake.

I know, but it is just a bit disappointing, I would have much rather had more characters than steelhead halberdiers and riflemen. But its just personal preference I guess, I'm already pledged for a heap and its not like this is going to change it or anything.
