Does this mean that if my Warlord with the Fellblade is enfeebled he doesn't hit at S10 anymore?!

Its a special rule causing the attack, which has its own set of rules.
So you can drop the models strength, but the attack will remain the same.
Dropping the strength of a wizard does not in turn drop the strength of a spell.
Chariots impact hits are made at strength AFAIK, so they can be altered.
But being a special attack with its own set rules, you cant change them as its not considered as the models normal attacks.

It's a fixed Str from a piece of equipment, not a modifier to the profile, so it's not affected by this kind of spells / effects

I don't know what that is good sir, I'm a dead serious Warp Engineer who's always absolutely and completely frustrated when one of my war machines blows up!

Atlantic wrote:The str of those attacks is obviously determined by the statistic on the profile. Incorrect. There are about a million examples of the "coincidence" that you don't believe in. Spells that do hits of a given strength, and this strength value happens to be the same number as we find on the wizard's profile. It doesn't mean he's throwing the fireball, and if he's stronger then the fireball will hit harder. Also, this spell does strength 6 hits, and my wizards initiative is 6! OBVIOUSLY, the strength of the spell is dependent upon my wizard's initiative. Otherwise, why would they be the same? And these are the WORST examples of counter-points. Other people have already listed much better ones. As if we needed examples, really. Let me guess - you're the player of the Frostheart?

Actually if Atlantic's interpretation is correct, then all cannon shots are dependent on the strength of the crew... sorry Empire.

The actual Mangler Squig itself would be -1S but the army book specifically says the unit takes 2D6 S6 hits, not "2D6 hits at the Mangler Squig's Strength".

Mangler squig should do 2d6 S6 hits and pop out the other side as per rules. where is the issue?

Maybe he spent a lot of time painting the phoenix and doesn't want it to die?

Most of the time though, the Phoenix should survive, not even taking that much damage. Average of 7 hits, 4+ to wound so 3.5 wound, then you've got that 5++, so only just over 2 wounds will go through.

Ah, but you roll the number of hits, roll high, and then pick up dice to roll to wound, you roll a fist full of 4's, and suddenly the S6 vs S5 is huge.
My experience has been, arguments like this come up after the fact when the dice have already been rolled.
