The Sorcerer's Realm scenery deal is the perfect way to add to your Warhammer scenery collection. Whether you want to create a battlefield, add more arcane fulcrums to your games of Storm of Magic, or just add some great scenery pieces to your miniatures collection, this is the collection for you.

This web exclusive scenery deal is only available until 10am Thursday 29th August (Australia EST, North America EST, UK BST).

The Sorcerer's Realm scenery deal contains 1 Dreadstone Blight, 1 Magewrath Throne & Balewind Vortex; and 1 Dreadfire Portal & Eternity Stair.

These plastic scenery pieces are supplied unpainted and require assembly - we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paint

This is an actual money off deal.. you know like other companies actually do.

I actually cant believe it, I certainly hope this is a continueing trend as you basically get one of the items free. If I was into the scenary scene I would indeed consider getting it, well done GW hope they keep it up.

Not bad actually. Basically you pay for the Magewrath Throne, Balewind Vortex, Dreadfire Portal, and Eternity Stair and you get the Dreadstone Blight for free, so $33 (28.5%) savings.

Heh Heh Heh. Looks like scenery that they need to get out of the warehouse for a game system that they effectively killed off with a bad rule set. People did vote with their wallets. 8th Ed sucks.

Sometimes to make money you really need to write down some good rules instead of forcing players to buy massive amounts of models.

I believe this is only a short time to remove all stock on hand. If you want one then go ahead and get it because I believe that there will be no more of this when it sells out.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.

Not too long ago on BOLS, there was a corporate stratigist that reviewed GW's business model. He was saying that at some point in the future, GW would raise their prices to the point that they destroyed all of their Good Will, and people would stop buying. It would be at this point that we would see the old "package deals" return, where you would get discounts when you made large purchases.

Now, I'm not saying that this is why this deal is available. It may be that Fantasy is just so under performing, that they are trying to get ride of stock. But, it would be nice if this was the beginning of that trend...

I can still remember when a box of 30 Space Marines was $30.00. Now THAT'S old school! In fact, I started playing in the Rogue Trader days...yes, I am that old. Played Warhammer Fantasy for years before Rogue Trader even came out...

6,800 Pts. Ultramarines, 1,500 Pts. Deathwatch, 1,000 Pts. Black Templars, 1,000 Pts. Blood Ravens, 1,000 Pts. Emperors Children, 2,000 Pts. Word Bearers, 3,500 Pts. Eldar (Alaitoc or Biel-tan), 2,000 Pts. Tau, 2,000 Pts. Sisters of Battle, 999 Pts. of Thousand Sons, 1,000 Points Dark Eldar, 1,000 Points Adeptus Arbites, 1,000 Points Freebooters, 1,000 Points "Last Chancers", 1,000 Points Tyranids, 1,000 Points Necrons

I believe its called the "elasticity" of your market. And it is not a representation of a failing company. I'm not saying I enjoy the price hikes, I'm just tired of seeing all the posts of "GW is going out of business!!!". They are so not going out of business. They've posted profits for YEARS, that's not going to just magically change. They will keep raising prices because they're product has enough elasticity to allow it, and will stop when it does not.

Well the news hear is that it is a real "deal" which is crazy.

My secondary reaction is... they're liquidating some of their language ! reds8n terrain pieces by bundling a couple good ones with a couple terrible ones.

I'm sure most folks in our hobby look for some amount of versatility to a terrain piece... several of these have none. :-p

The '8th Sucks' crowd* is always looking for new ways to screech about how much they loathe it. If they have to make massive logical leaps, so be it! As long as they get a chance to whinge and feel superior about it, they're happy.

~Tim?

*Note that the '8th Sucks' crowd is distinguished from the people that just don't like 8th edition, but don't feel like they have to be obnoxious about it. I'm fine with those people.

I'll confess, I was so shocked I brought this without even doublechecking if buying from Wayland would be cheaper (it wouldn't).

Here's hoping more deals will make an appearance in the future

I am shocked. This is great news, and hopefully they do the same kind of deal with 40k terrain or, *gasp*, units (COME ON IG BUNDLE!).

If I could use more than one of those pieces, I might have had to consider buying it.

This isn't actually unheard of even in the modern era.. a few Xmases ago they were offering free pots of paint with terrain purchase.

My guess is that they probably have tons of unsold stock, would surprised if this is the portent of things to come and we go back to the old day sales of 'buy 2 blisters, get 1 free', and similar offers on the books/games and the like.

Not super surprising. I've noticed a few things have gone down in price, like the much maligned finecast Ushabti-- more expensive kit, but less per figure.

Also, GW has done bundle deals for some units. Tau Crisis suits are 12% off if you buy them as a squad versus individually. And there were a few bundles when the Eldar book came out that saved cash for artillery, war walkers, and jetbikes for similar amounts. I know the normal thing is to knock on GW for just raising costs through the roof, but there are a few cases where it's not true. I just hope that it's not an experiment that is abandoned, like the non-iBook digital army books apparently have been.

GW's bundles for the last year or so have been almost all only a dollar or so off of the individual cost. Some were occasionally a dollar or two more depending on the country. To go back with a multiple kit bundle for a significant saving is a big change IMO.

It's a good thing this wasn't a warhammer 40k deal or my wallet would be hemmoraging.
