He is a brony. You would be very naive to believe that all bronies are pastel loving powder puffs just as you would believe that all fans of JoJo are manly men, and honestly... I would feel that you're compensating for something with all of these talks of manliness when comparing a comic book and a tv show...

Edit: As for the thread meant for fans, you're the only one posting here about how awesome JoJo is, and you're posting things in such an abrasive manner that you're driving away the only two people that have made even the slightest attempt at learning more about this inane comic.

That quote is very straight. A fan of MLP wouldn't find the same kind of appeal in JoJo. The two are night and day. Fans of either of the two are intense fans. This is a fact: JoJo appeals to more people than MLP. This means you will get a more stagnant fanbase. Bronies have a reputation on the internet you know.
Your friend is an example of what I said. You will never encounter one type of person in a massive fanbase. I regret saying this but while MLP isn't as innovative or good as JoJo it is as popular. That said your friend is a very obvious standout.
When did I say the people who watch JoJo are all manly strongmen? I said it was a manly show. And it is.

You've never asked any questions actually relating to the show. Like characters, voice actors, writers,etc. You've just questioned it's quality when I've said what it excels at.
If you're curious I'll tell you. There's something for everyone in JoJo and honestly you'll just have to see it for yourself.

And how is MLP not innovative? In a world of Spongebob, Regular Show, Adventure Time, Chowder, Pancake, etc... MLP is a show that teaches girls how to actually be free thinking independent people. It's a show of good role models for kids that has just enough value to be worth it to adults.

These are the questions I asked about the show and manga. The reason why I didn't ask about characters is because I'll learn them over the course of the show, I don't care about voice actors because voice actors don't make or break a show for me, I don't care about writers because I don't know enough of them to know who is good, who is bad, etc... I asked about the "objective" qualities because if something is objectively a fact, then there is some way to back it up, of which you've given me nothing other than, "find out about it on your own"

What are these obvious reasons?

As I've said before the good art, good music, well designed characters, creative powers, creative fights (you will never see a straight up fist fight or people shooting lasers in JoJo)

As I've said constantly: The villains have wonderful complex plots that make sense, the plot has a good speed, and the author knows when to bring back villains. Like part 3 Dio in part 7.

A far larger portion of the fanbase than of humanity are flatout creepy people I would never take my daughter around. I never painted them with a broad brush, I just pointed this out.

I have seen some weird anime fans IRL. Like the guy who brings a body pillow to school with him. Or has an anime cutout.
I have never met an MLP fan IRL who wasnt a decent person.

JoJo is incredibly long running and around the same level of iconicness as Godzilla. It deserves a separate thread.

Not if any of us haven't seen it! All we know is what you've told us, and what you've told us isn't much.

It has a crapton of story. Just watch the first season. It's 9 episodes and one of the weakest story arcs. It's still good however. I cant tell you more without not getting sleep. See it yourself.

I've spent an hour arguing on Dakka while doing my own things, like listening to music, watching paint dry, discussing with my father about the validity of an athlete's signature from the standpoint of a collector, discussing things like, "was it signed by him, if so how can we tell? Was it machine that wrote the signature., etc... All while doing this I have say here trying to figure out why I should watch this show and read this manga. It doesn't have nearly the same amount of story as JoJo.
JoJo is about the adventures of a blood line with the initials JoJo in their name (Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, Jotaro Kujo) and their quarrels with incredibly deadly villains. The recurring main villain is Dio Brando. He's the primary villain of part 1 and part 3, his minion is the primary villain of part 6, his son the main protagonist of part 5. You hopefully get the idea.
This is all that can be said in a single sentence and It's the kind of premise where it can go a lot of places.

Why do they fight these villains? Is the world in danger? Are they plucky heroes that don't want to be, but are the only ones that can stop them?

Edit: I would argue that Game of Thrones has far more storylines and plot threads simply due to the complexities of the political intrigue Martin has crafted, and I fething hate the books.

This thread isn't meant to enlighten you. I would need other fans for that. I can tell you to see the anime series, and go to the JoJo wiki.
Obsessiveness? Really? I've explained why its good let me give an example: A villain character dies and the psychic backlash creates an completely invincible monster with motion vision while they are on a plane. How do they kill it? They fly the plane into the ocean and cheese it. It constantly chases after the waves it creates in an endless cycle due to the motion vision.
