Subject: Forge World HH/40K News & Rumors - Red Butchers p47
Seeing as the old thread was locked I thought I'd start a new thread to keep all the HH and 40K Forge World news together. I'll try to update the first post and title often.
The Fire Raptor Gunship is a specialised variant of the Storm Eagle known to have its origins in the Imperium’s dim and distant past. The vehicle is configured to maximise ammunition stowage in order to feed the voracious appetite of its numerous weapons and this is achieved by sacrificing the Storm Eagle’s transport capacity.
The secrets of the Fire Raptor's construction were lost sometime after the Horus Heresy but Fire Raptors are now being fielded in increasing numbers across the countless war zones of the 41st Millennium, suggesting that an as-yet unidentified Adeptus Mechanicus Forge World or Adeptus Astartes Chapter Forge has come into possession of a complete STC imprint.
The Fire Raptor Gunship , designed by Stuart Williamson, is a complete resin and plastic kit armed with twin-linked avenger bolt cannon, wing-mounted hellstrike missiles and two ball turrets sporting either quad heavy bolters or twin-linked autocannon. This kit is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Thursday 31st October. Experimental rules for this model can be found here.

Games Day UK 2013 .Now with pictures (Loads of images on page 16 onwards.)
Spoiler:
2nd August- Continuing the success of the Horus Heresy and Space Marines ranges, Forge World's Phil Stutcinskas will be showing off the new Heresy-era Space Marine tanks he's been working on, and you will also get to see a brand new Space Marine flyer sculpted by Stuart Williamson!
9th august- Over in Forge World, Darren Parrwood has joined the Tau's Third Sphere of Expansion and has been seen working on a new Tau kit. The Greater Good has never looked so good! Meanwhile, Forge World's scenery extraordinaire, Blake Spence, has been hard at work on more new magnificently detailed scenery tiles to help really enhance your battlefields.
You will be able to meet both Darren and Blake at this year's Games Day and talk to them at length about these and some of the other projects they have worked on.
16th August- The Horus Heresy rages ever-onwards over at Forge World and, hot on the heels of the Primarchs Angron and Fulgrim, Simon Egan will be unveiling the third in this series of mighty warriors of legend at UK Games Day 2013! Simon wouldn't be drawn on the details, so you'll just have to go to Games Day to see it in person (and possibly even add one to your collection!).
Elsewhere in Forge World's design team, Keith Robertson has been working hard on a brand new unit of Death Guard which you will be able to see for the very first time at Games Day.
22nd August- This week we can confirm that Forge World writers, Neil Wylie, Andy Hoare, Alan Bligh and editor Talima Fox will all be making their way to the NIA in September to talk about the range of Imperial Armour and Warhammer Forge books, as well as The Horus Heresy. In the coming weeks, Forge World will have an exciting announcement, and Games Day will be the very first place that you will have the opportunity to talk with the writers about it!
30th August- This week Forge World have announced that Alfonso Giraldes will be showing off a fantastic new unit of World Eaters, while Stephen Whitehead has been working hard on a superbly detailed set of Heresy-era Night Lords.
6th September- The HH Massacre, EC Phoenix Terminators, IH Contemptor and IH Shoulder Pads will be available in ''limited numbers''
Not confirmed news but looks like the badges they give out will have the legion symbols from the new HH book.
20th September- Erebus, Kor Phaeron and Ferrus Manus available at GD.

This comes from someone over at BoLS, but they seemed fairly confident...
[spoiler]

AdMech Thralls possibly out in November, possible compatability with IG plastics
AdMech Myrmidons - still WIP (weapon options)
Legion Basilisk WIP
Land Raider Achilles MkIIB almost complete.
Legion Kharybdis Assault claw, drop pod with weapon system. Can land vertically
Myrmidons still WIP, out 'soon'

FW Extermination. Out Easter 14. 2/3 finished.
I'm aware that that's still missing out on a lot, but at least some stuff is there. (And I'll admit, I sort of stopped at Night Raptors out xmas, did a little dance, and ignored most of the rest of the list.)

The opposite.
After seeing the new single pose plastic HQs at £18 each, I've ordered the praetors, at 2 for £30, or £15 each. Cheaper and much, much, much better sculpts.

I couldn't believe it when the new HQs were announced at £18 each, especially as they are mono-pose. Madness! Ah well, I guess FW will be getting a lot more business now

There's a little tidbit on the GW website about Gamesday.
"Forge World – The Horus Heresy
This week Forge World have announced that Alfonso Giraldes will be showing off a fantastic new unit of World Eaters, while Stephen Whitehead has been working hard on a superbly detailed set of Heresy-era Night Lords."

I believe the Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer holds a punishment well suited to failure to provide up-to-the-second FW news and rumours, originally prescribed for attempted self-harm:
flayed, flogged, and then shot.
The Emperor Protects.
Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Can't say I'm interested in the HQs regardless of the price as they're mono-pose. I thought they were going to be updating the commander box but obviously not. The tacticals and veterans though I'm keen to get, same for the hunter/stalker.
As for the praetors, love the look of that archeotech bolt pistol, that's an amazing model overall, suppose I'll have to stump up with some money for it at some point.

so feel free to call me dumb if you like, but I'm curious, is there reasoning for not putting a Forge world headquarters in the u.s.? I can't help but think that would help sales increase somehow.

Because Forgeworld is a niche product in a niche hobby. GW has shut down many of their production plants around the world or reduce the amount of product those plants churn out. Moving FW to the US would be cost and labor intensive for a product that people may not buy anyways. People may not know about forgeworld, or may not buy from them since everything is in GBP and shipping is 15% of your order. People that are willing to buy from FW either wait for FW to show up at a convention they're attending, or they do what people around the US do, coordinate a FW order that reaches the free shipping level and then do a group order.

I am looking forward to the Raven Guard and Iron Hands stuff - and I am looking forward to all 3 of the Loyalist Primarchs too!
I hope Ferrus doesn't come with Kung Fu head removal action . I'm reading Fulgrim atm... and knowing his fate sucks :(

How many HH books total are there going to be? Because if they do 3 legions per book with AdMech and the Imperial Army spread out among them then we're gonna end up with 6 books.
Not to mention GW higher ups will get lynched if we don't get Custodes. Or worse, Sisters of Silence

I think he means another production plant in the US, which I think won't happen as GW 'merica has more or less been disassembled and shipped back to the UK.

*Sees system map in video* So does the Drop Site Massacre take place over several worlds now? I always thought it was stupid that the Legions all fought on a single world.

Custodes are kinda cool, but I haven't heard of Sisters of Silence being mentioned in I don't know how long. Regardless, this is a long-term project from Forgeworld and they're gonna keep making money on it as long as humanly possible. I've always wondered what the "endgame" is after doing the Horus Heresy, since I always figured GW or Forgeworld would never touch it since there's nowhere to really go from there, as everything's so small in comparison.
I'm just chomping at the bit for Iron Warriors to get their due in the Horus Heresy. I want me some expensive resin Marines, but not til they get some models!

Little worried, I see the RG on the maps, but unless I'm missing it, we don't see their armor and profile along with the other 4.... no RG in Massacre?

Don't think they ever were meant to be, I've been keen to find out when they were due, being a RG player, and I have always heard they were due in the second Dropsite Massacre book, but I understand that isn't a year away like the first two volumes.
