At the HH weekender they discussed some of the ideas they had had and they had thought that he poses some difficulties as you could just use a standard tactical marine to rep both of them which FW thought may well be selling the concept a little short. They spoke about having him on the same scale as the other primearchs and writing in to his background a sort of glamour that makes him appear to blend in akin to Corax's shadow thingy like an "always on" psychic power.

They haven't got to mk5 yet, though they're getting close with some of those Sons of Horus minis.

I'd love for them to do corvus armour with the fluted elbows and feet.

Of course once they get there, what comes next? Other than a series devoted to Errant armour or coming up with a new style, they'll have done all the armour marks.

They already do a MK VI set. Just a basic Tac Marine set, but it's there. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Space_Marines/Space_Marine-Infantry-and-Accessories/MK-VI-CORVUS-ARMOUR.html

Thanks, but I have the basic MK VI set from FW and the RavenGuard veteran set.
I meant getting some variation in MK VI like we're seeing with the current MK IV set. Having commanders in ornate versions of it, veterans with decorated versions, or even variations in beakie helms and the chest cables. Consider the more ornate MK VI that comes with the RavenWing command set as another example.

In that case yeah, fancier versions are always nice. Presumably once the Raven Guard come to the fore they'll get onto that.

The paint job on that IH Contemptor is awful

Seriously, I don't think of myself as anything more than competent, and if I'm looking at an allegedly pro paint job thinking "I could do better" then it is pretty poor.

But on the upside, those Termies are gorgeous, if I ever get to a point where I'm not painting towards some force or another, I could easily go for them just to have and to paint!

Has then been any word of the Sicarus tank and what it does, approx points, for sure whether or not it is a super heavy? They put it up for pre-order and as awesome as it looks, no way in hell I am buying a superheavy I will only rarely be allowed to use.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs

Its the iconography on the chest, the wings are utterly dreadful, the parchment/scrollwork is massively over washed (and wouldn't you put some lettering on it for a promo piece) and the Legion icon looks very rough too.

You know I'm allowed to think differently right? For reasons I've already explained.

I also happen to think it is too heavily weathered, but I acknowledge that is entirely subjective.

Fair enough the chest details are a bit... dusty... but I think overall it still makes a nice impression. I think we/I just took your comment to mean every last thing was head to toe terrible.

Those Emperor's Children are categorically gorgeous.. the helmets on them look great!

Although think the shoulder wing should be classed with bunny-eared helmets under 'impractical appendages' (think I would probably clip them and lay flat against the shoulder pad).

I think the way the forgeworld team paint their models is very much a style decision, and I can respect that. Personally, I enjoy a certain grittyness. Sooner or later we'll see one of those painted classically, anway.

As for the Phoenix Terminators... wow, I've rarely been *so* close to buying models I don't really need than I was with them. It will be very hard to resist their lure...

What really gets me is the laziness with the Iron Hands shoulder pads. Every other chapter done gets multiple different pads. the iron hands are 10 of the same. Maybe its a bit with the fluff that I'm not aware of, but they are so boring. Also can't figure out the head on the dread, even enlarged the picture, can't quite tell what they are trying to do.

Ya, would have liked to see more variety myself, as you see with the other chapters. The bionics do look cool though.

I have no business wanting those new termi sculpts, but I already know that I'm gonna buy a set just because. They look awesome.

Taking inspiration and title from the legendary bird of ancient Terran myth, the Phoenix Guard of the Emperor’s Children formed
an elite cadre within the Legion, serving primarily as the Primarch Fulgrim’s personal retinue. On the field of battle, the Phoenix
Guard were storied as providing an impenetrable ring of courage and steel, barring the approach of any enemy who dared challenge
their Primarch. They fought in many spheres of battle, from lightning-swift assault forces to veteran tactical units, but it was their
Terminators who were most feared, their martial skill all but unmatched across the Legions.

The Emperor’s Children Legion Phoenix Terminators, designed by Keith Robertson, contains five multi-part resin models. Each Terminator is resplendent with fine details and the iconography of the Emperor’s Children Legion. This set is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Monday 30th September. We will have limited stock of these models at Games Day UK.

"We are the Phoenix Guard. We are precision; we are golden; we are loyalty. We are perfection incarnate, in form, intent and deed. We are all to which a true son of Fulgrim must aspire."

Lord Commander Eidolon
The Emperor's Children Legion

As is perhaps unsurprising from so calculating and methodical a master as Ferrus Manus, the Iron Hands Legion is a highly structured military force, with numerous tactical and strategic divisions of power and organisation within its ranks. The Iron Hands are known to maintain a particularly extensive and sophisticated arsenal of war engines — particularly tanks, armoured vehicles and Dreadnoughts — the equal of any Legion save perhaps for Perturabo’s IVth.

Designed by Israel Gonzalez and Will Hayes, the Iron Hands Contemptor Dreadnought is packed with details themed specifically to this Legion and their close ties to the Mechanicum. The Iron Hands Mk III Shoulder Pads, designed by Steve Whitehead, are a set of 10 resin shoulder pads for our Mk III Iron Armour sets. These kits are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday 30th September. We will have limited stock of these models at Games Day UK.

"Let your will be as fierce as the heart of the furnace, and your armour as cold and unyielding as steel."

Legiones Astartes Iron Hands

The upgrade bundles are great, but I just purchased the Raven Guard Veteran kit and the Rhino Doors.

But the bundle is actually a deal, 65 instead of paying 72 for individual parts. That's an $11 difference before you add in shipping.

I could always use more Raven Guard Veteran parts. But do I really need 3 sets of Rhino doors?

Decisions, decisions...

i love the new terminators! i was hoping for some WB or NL releases but all in good time. I wonder what the phoenix guard rules will be as i cant see any ranged weaponry so perhaps we'll see an enhance invulnerable save when in combat like their dad?
