Stats?!? Bah! It's sheer awesomeness! Perhaps this is the "Uber Suit" with twin railguns that was rumored back before the codex was released.
IMHO, this is what the Riptide should have looked like. If the rules are no bueno, I'll just use it as a proxy for my 'Tide with the Ion Accelerator. I just wish I could afford more than one!

If there is a hierarchy of treachery, then the Word Bearers sit in its highest circle. Once the most devoted and rigorous of warriors, it was not enough that they fell, but they pulled their brother Legions into the abyss with them.
For this fallen Legion, we have created sets of Mk II, Mk III and Mk IV Shoulder Pads as well as door sets for the Land Raider, Mk IIB Land Raider and the Rhino. Designed by Steve Whitehead, these resin accessories are ideal for adding Word Bearers iconography to your infantry and tanks. These sets are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Monday 30th September. A limited quantity of these kits will be available at Games Day UK, however we are unable to accept reservations for these items.
Even when the Night Lords were counted loyal, their nature and actions were ever questioned. Some argued that they were simply a function of necessity, the monsters needed to drag a barbaric age into the light. Some say that they were a mistake, a misjudgment compounded by circumstance. A few wonder if they were damned from the moment they were born, that they were destined never to be a part of the future they would help create. All such speculation is ultimately pointless; no matter the cause, they are creatures of horror and always were.
For this monstrous Legion, we have created sets of Mk II and Mk IV Shoulder Pads as well as Night Lords Legion Land Raider Doors. Designed by Steve Whitehead, these resin accessories are ideal for adding Night Lords iconography to your infantry and tanks. These sets are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Monday 30th September. The Word Bearers and the Night Lords Legions will be featured in our forthcoming The Horus Heresy Book Two – Massacre. Further details can be found in the Forge World Visual Feed. In our latest video, writer Alan Bligh discusses what you can look forward to in the new book.
Once again laziness with the pads all being the same in each batch. I'm not a sculptor, so I shouldn't complain too much, but as a Business person it just looks bad to me that they do such basic work and tout it as magnificence.

These are the Night Lord abilities I saw in the book:
Talent for Murder: If a unit with this special rule outnumbers the enemy unit in close combat, they get +1 to Wound. Bulky models count as 2 models and Very Bulky models count as 3 models. Nostraman Blood: All models with this special rule fall back 1" farther than usual. If they become pinned, the controlling player of the unit may choose to have them fall back instead as if they had taken 25% casualties from shooting. Night Vision: All Night Lords have Night Vision From the Shadows: All models with this special rule have a 6+ cover save on the first game turn which can be combined with Stealth. If the model has a better cover save then it supersedes the 6+. Seeds of Dissent: If this army's Warlord is slain, the entire army must take morale tests as if it had taken 25%+ casualties from shooting.
Cost is same as a Power Weapon (strong being better than the Caedare weapons)
Any Night Lord Terminator Squad or Command Squad can Deep Strike for the cost of a plasma gun
Any Night Lords character can cause Fear for 5 points. It's called the Trophies of Judgement
They also have their own Rite of War, which looks like it causes Night Fighting the first turn on a 4+, and they have to take Terror squads as compulsory troop choices. Other units with access to Rhinos can take Drop Pods or Dread Claws.
-------- edit: wow, they are really giving the love to Iron Hands. They are fething stacked in this.
Inviolate Armor Shooting attacks against models with the IH Legion Astarted ability have -1 Strength (aka T5 Tactical squads for 250 points)
Also, Iron Hands can't voluntarily go to ground and must take a LD test in order to Run or Sweeping Advance. (booo hoo)
Rigid Tactics Can't have more jump infantry/bikes/jetbikes than you have infantry units
Aaand a bunch of other stuff, like Praetors having a 40pt upgrade to get a 6+ FNP and a Servo Arm to become a forge father

Isn't the point more that with 30k and Legions that marines aren't as individual as in 40k and Chapters? Equipment and armour is more standardised except for elite units like the Palatine Blades. I could be completely wrong of course but that seems to be where the HH aesthetic is headed. Plain marines, fancy elites.

DAGNABIT! Now I will have to build a Night Lord Army, just so i can have 40 guys running around with chain glaives! Lucky for my I found 3 unopened bottles of "Enchanted Blue" paint in my old paint box.

To me, the Stormblade was a rather obvious omission from the newest IAApoc book.

They didn't put any of the Baneblade hull tanks in the new IA:A book. My guess is it was supposed to go in the GW Apocalypse book and was dropped after FW had sent IA:A off to the printers.
There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Nice, so if Erebus is a warlord then you can take an allied detachment from Codex: Chaos Daemons! That's very cool. Also like that he has the same "marked by dark fates" ability that Abaddon has.

Holy crap. I am canning my Sons of Horus army and going with Night Lords. The rite of war is exactly what I was trying to do with my Sons list but now I can do it with a single detachment. Sweet! Ok already painted squads, back to the Awesome vat with you!
If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

It's getting harder and harder to resist starting a 30k force with the stuff they're putting out, though there's a big part of me looking forward to when the clearly chaos units start appearing to supplement the 40k army. Kakophoni marines will be a definite must when they finally release them.

I love the plain aesthetic of the 30k marines, GW have gone way over the top in decorating men that are supposed to look like soldiers not wedding cakes.
