I hadn't noticed that. Interesting that folks didn't jump on Mantic for joking on the competition, but jumped all over Prodos for their joking on Mantic.

Not true, we totally got jumped on. Which is weird, because I'm sure we made the shop up ourselves. It's joking on something?

Did they ever have the sign as an official pic anyhow?

It certainly does seem like quite the "jerk" (replace with something else) move to actively call out another company in a funding level, which is effectively a product.

In any case, my opinion doesn't matter too much! I'm sitting out of Mars Attacks, buying um... everything in Deadzone drained most of my money.

They're also definitely going to avoid credit systems in the future. They tried to appease people who'd complain that they didn't want a particular stretch goal but it just didn't work. Now people complain that the stretch goals aren't free enough (even though they are!).

Maybe an interesting middle ground that they could try next would be for each stretch goal to unlock 3 things and you'd get to pick one of them free, pay for the rest if you want. Or just some sort of credit system that didn't directly correlate to dollars.

Crap.

With that new update and getting paid on time, I don't think I can resist heading back up to the blood on the battlefield.

That's a lot of game to be had.

Plus, there's still the possibility of more stuff showing up as we get back to where we were!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

If anyone is still sitting on multiple pledges across different accounts, it would be good to make your choice now, it gives someone else a chance to get the free Tiger Corps before we reach the 2500 backers cutoff.

I noticed that one of the $50 add-on sets is missing. It had the US Soldiers, Novas Vira, KS exclusive human soldier, and the Patriot. What happened to it? Why was it removed? Now I've got to redo my pledge.

Also, I've been meaning to ask, will the Patriot have rolling wheels?

^ It won't, but can be converted to have them.

I'm not sure what happened to the human pledge, the image is gone but I imagine it still exists?

Backer Guide PDF link is broken so I can't see if its in there or not either.

Definitely something to poke mantic about in the KS comments.

I imagine it remains. My pledge revolves around the two $50 add ons, $20 for Henry/Flea

it's still there on the guide.

they said they took the image down to remove silhouettes. it contained locked stuff that wasn't available yet.

it also didn't give any discount.

so you could still pick up the stuff separately and get exactly the same deal.

Got about +$15k and +50 backers in the last few hours, this thing has turned around very nicely since the last update, all of the lost ground over the last week is being wiped in an evening.

That was pleasant to wake up to. Mantic having removed uncertainty (a big enthusiasm killer) and given us moar lewts, resulting in a big jump in pledges again. Bring on the bugs!

Love the new avatar James ; p

I think whoever it was who was talking about "high watermark" stretch goal unlocking as a standard used in other kickstarters earlier was definitely on to something.

It's a little bit open to abuse if a large pledge is made and pulled but that's something that can be detected or ironed out with people adding on in the survey.

I seem to remember Mantic did something similar with Loka when there was uncertainty over whether the 4 elements would be funded... they straight out said "even if we don't hit the goal, we're putting our own money in to make it happen anyway", and that immediately turned things around.

8 backers left before the extended free tiger corps deal is closed off!

Nope. I just checked the guide. The human only $50 expansion is completely gone. The Martian one is still there and so is the Novas Vira/Science Division expansion.

I'd still like to see some finalized renders for the Novas Vira before the end as well as the Tiger Corps so I can figure out if I really want to get them or not. The existing Novas Vira renders look unfinished and pretty much every picture for the Tiger Corps is either really small or for some reason they're not showing up on my computer.

I think they said something about taking down the Human/Martian forces expansions to "make them a better value" - so they will pop up again soon I imagine.

$500k stretch is zombie martian, free for $150+ backers, and 4 zombie apocalypse scenarios to pit the martians against zombie hordes (so, if you've already got zombie minis, this gives an extra use for them).

Also, KoW zombies and Deadzone terrain have been added as add-ons. I know this one is something a lot of you have been waiting for to fill out your BotB's

Do we know "fo sure" the contents of the Dz scenery sprues yet? Nice to see Mantic going all out on this one, I just hope they are not taking too many risks of taking a financial hit.

Yep, we know the exact content of them, there's sprue pics in Ronnie's demo vid of them.

Pretty cool update if you just want a fethload of deadzone terrain since you can grab a BotB, get $325 of DZ terrain (at the special discount KS price, last time this will ever be offered) for $300 then get a free mars attacks boxed game + all the freebies (including giant stompy robot, hardback rulebook) on top.

485K, nice to see stretch goals being achieved again, not to mention all the freebies thrown in. Hardcover rulebook, 3 big bugs, commanders etc. If i didn't already have 14 battlezones sitting at Mantic I'd be all over the extra deadzone stuff ; p

Cheers SS. They are severely tempting me, it is mainly the Saucer/Stompy Robot/Flea and Dredd that do it for me.

The DZ terrain deal is amazing value, but knowing most wargamers the fact that it will be available at retail in a months time may put people off, I am terrible at delayed gratification!

Novas vira *are* unfinished, they're wips. tiger corp models don't exist yet, they only have art not renders.

Nice to see this has turned around a decent amount. I got an email from Ronnie replying to my message from yesterday about DeadZone scenery, CMON and Zombicide, and this morning I see they've added the DZ scenery, a shout-out from CMON to their Zombicide backers that also suggests the MA survivors would work in Zombicide and the pic just above!

If they make your zombicide suggestion a reality, I will fly over there and buy you a beer.

Wow, this is going so much better I think we're poised to get a decent U curve after all, still probably biased towards the start, but I think we've got a strong momentum going now. WOOO

Hey guys, do we know what material the giant bug is made out of? Still being tempted by that... I guess I've got 2 days to decide

Looks like it blew past the lower goal for it, too, which is awesome!

$492K, it's flying up again, Mantic will be breathing easier. Would have been a huge disappointment for them if it didn't break the $500K. I'm glad I went up to comic con - 3 left again btw. $300 one click, plus $25 to put towards dreadball and Deadzone minis/decks and AI cards.

I was assuming they were made out of the same material as the rest of the Mars Attacks stuff, not restic but the same stuff used for that other campaign somewhere. The new restic looks really good though, so I was hoping they might shift over to it, but they know best I guess.

So, for those who are paying detailed attention to this thing, what does the $300 level one-click pledge NOT include? (aside from AW resin scenery) I'm now half-tempted to stay in on my $300 dealio get the scenery since all the stuff I wanted is now in, and add a $300 one-click later via PM, but I'd want to see what else there is and how much it costs, and things have changed to much on this thing I've got no idea what's going on with the exra add-ons...

Pretty sure $300 one click has everything MA related except zombies, and most of the Antenociti (sp?) crashed cars and some scenery bits.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, let's throw the brakes on the crazy train here

We've locked them in for one simple reason: to stop people panicking and backing out because they don't think they're gonna get robots or whatever. The plan is that this (in addition to the rather spiffy plan we've come up with involving lots of cool stuff) will get things moving back in the right direction, so we end up funding them again anyway!

Yes, by adding new stretch goals over the top we take a bit of a financial hit, and there's a chance this might backfire and lead to more of a financial hit, but we're willing to take that risk - especially because backsliding risks causing more panic and causing more losses.

Does that make sense? I hope so!

this is why I support mantic, you can give them as much shat as you want but there customers come first.
