Visited a friend at his new place in Toronto, did not see a single "white guy" except him in the neighborhood. I swear 1/3rd of the population of Canada will be East Indian: they are the #1 immigrant. Get used to it, it is the "global village".
1) I have seen other Miss America's perform a similar dance, why does the ethnicity matter?
2) She is stunning looking so for a show based on looks, nothing there to complain.
3) An "immigrant" or "visible minority" is a better example of the "true American" people uprooting for better opportunities and a few are second or third generation American now.
4) She was obviously surprised and happy when she won, what is really wrong with this?
5) Her winning was determined by a panel of judges, if so upset of "who" won, why not ask those who made the decision than to get upset with the winner?
I thought the competition was a rather silly event and was never really sure if they had a decent scoring system of some kind. At the very least a more open minded outcome has happened.
Lynda Carter won it a long way back (1972) and she has a Mexican background so all this is not very shocking.

If I wanted to get that same effect I would just go to my local university's Math and Science building. I wish I was kidding, but I am not. I take that back, the Psychology Department is in one of those buildings, so if you hit that wing up you will find the white kids.
As to why it matters, it is because if a white woman had won you wouldn't be seeing such hideous, hateful things being said. Yes, it isn't a surprise that there are idiots on twitter, but unfortunately they are loud idiots and so it creates a bad impression. It wouldn't be that big a deal still, except it is part of a larger narrative on such lunacy; just another brick in the wall.

I suppose I should have been more specific. Yes there would have been hateful things said, but they would have nothing to do with ethnicity and her citizenship wouldn't have been questioned. Most likely they would have just called her fat and ugly. Saying that an American isn't really an American because of their skin color is a distinct kind of hate.
