No thread as yet for GTA5?

Anyone going to pick it up?
I kinda left the series midway through SA. Loved VC but felt it never recaptured that magic.

However after a long trawl on youtube watching trailers and gameplay vids, it does look quite tempting. Hmmm.

Everyone is talking about it around me. I don't want it.
I'm sick of it already.

I loved gta:sa and there reason there is no thread about gta v is because it hasn't even released. Not even a single date when it's coming or super early preorders.

F*** rockstar and their boring video games that everyone seems to love so much for totally inexplicable reasons. I mean, did anyone play LA Noir!? Man that game was bland

All their games have no soul, or characters you care about (with the borderline exception of red dead redemption) and I for one know this game will be just another one of their totally hyped up piles of steaming nothing

I actually liked all GTAs. Enjoyed either playing some them or watching friends doing some crazy things in others.

But yeah, I am sick of it already and I haven't even played it. Stupid fanboys all over the net. There was almost no way to see any YT Saints Row video without a wall of comments how GTA5 is better (month before release). Sigh...

Several of my friends picked it up at midnight, and I've heard nothing but praises.

As for myself, I'm waiting for my roommate to get it so I can see it first-hand. I've never been a huge fan of GTA, so I won't pick it up unless it's changed enough to make it more interesting for me.

Thing that bothers me most with GTA isn't the story, I enjoy that, it's the horrible controls.

Well, that is one of the main reasons why it's never interested me. That, and the lack of checkpoints in missions. Sitting through a couple minutes of dialog, and then driving for a couple more minutes...only to get killed in a gunfight and having to do it all over again is frustrating. But I've heard they've fixed that issue. I'm hopefull that it's going to be good, but I haven't crossed my fingers.

I'll see, whenever it comes to the PC.

Think I'm gonna wait a while before I buy it. Maybe when it drops in price.

Do you get your "friends" calling you up all the time asking you to go bowling and crap? That was really annoying in GTA 4.

I want to play Saints Row in a GTA world. Rockstar does a better job of fleshing out their city, but Volition gives you fun things to do there.

The driving and checkpoint system is way better, and its way better then gta4 which besides TLAD I thought was crap. Everything is a step up, the one thing that annoys me is the AI with driving, it's always been bad but I get hit constantly by everything.

Unsurprisingly GTA 5 is ridiculously good.

I Actually enjoyed 4 quite a bit because of the believability of it's world, it takes real skill and artistry to create a city/World with believable infrastructure and population (Regardless of setting). Something NO other open-world action game even comes close to (Apart from the First STALKER game.).

Picked it up today. Will play some tonight. Wanting it mostly for the multiplayer aspect. Sounds like it's going to be very much like an MMO persistent world. Should be very interesting.

I pre-ordered GTA 5 a few weeks ago and it was scheduled to actually arrive today, but the amazing Australia Post contractor in charge of my package decided that i wasn't home without even attempting to check. He just dumped that 'Sorry we missed you' note in my mailbox and went on his merry way, i can only assume to complete his daily quest of screwing over anyone expecting a package who happens to own a particularly long driveway...

I picked it up from the post office late in the afternoon, i'm really looking forwards to giving it a proper go tonight. I'm also going to be filing a complaint against the mailman, as apparently i'm not the only person in my area to report that he's been doing a piss poor job of delivering packages.

I don't own a console, and my ridiculously ancient PC hasn't got a prayer of running GTA5 (if it comes out for PC), so no GTA5 for me :(

Hopefully it might come out for the Vita, which might actually get me to buy one - I've been tempted, but not quite enough.

I love the GTA games (never played 4 though), but I agree that they can get very repetitive, which is probably why it took me a few years to finish San Andreas - I kept getting distracted with side missions & just messing about.

I loved GTA until 4 came out and ruined it for me by changing all the things I liked -

The police / stars system - the new system was horrible
No national Guard Army,
Not enough humour - it was supposed to be fun and over the top.
No huge world
Immunity to everything by flying a Helicopter - I love Helicopters but once you get to a certain level of wanted they should go after you with their own aerial units.

If they've done away with the overly needy buddies that were such a pest in GTA IV then I'll get round to playing it eventually. The game world looks more interesting and varied than the last game's, and all signs point to an improvement in terms of overall quality.

So first impressions on the 360 with 46" LCD tv.

It is gorgeous! A huge step up in graphics.
It is massive! Truly a gigantic world. I have barely made it out of the city.
It takes a long damn time to lose your wanted level.
Much better variation of handling and performance among the cars.
Car customization is back! My favorite part of GTA:SA.

Relative to other GTA games, and other open world games, it is great. Considering the size of the game world, if the graphics were any better it wouldn't be playable on current consoles.

I will say that I was disappointed in the texture popping in the opening sequence.
