The Sharks is a very good team.
We were also without Backes, Schwartz and Sabotka. Those three guys are the "heart & soul" of the Blues offense imo (and Steener).
While I completely agree...it's kind of disheartening to see them lose...again...to the Sharks. But hey, I'm sure they'll win tonight!

Dang... I thought for sure we had 'em when Ovie made it 4-2 in the third. But no... We drop it 5-4 in OT to the Devils.
I do like Holtby between the pipes, but he's had a horrible December.
It's a point, sure, but the boys in red shoulda got two.

And Detroit gets their first Shoot Out win of the season...
I'd be a little more excited if they hadn't blown a 2 goal lead for what seems to be the 30th time this year.

Nuts... Gave up another multi-goal lead. But dang, you can't get muck closer to a tying goal than Ovie did when he rang the crossbar late in the 3rd... Didn't like the "no goal" call, but I gotta admit it was right. One millimeter lower and that was in...

Did anyone catch the own goal by the coyotes' goaltender last night? He deflected it into the air, turns around searching for it, and it lands in his pants. He backs up into the net to block any possible shots and the Sabres score a goal on it lol.

6-5 and, while the Blues deserved that win, the officiating was awful.
Hjalmarsson's direct crosscheck at the 'Hawks blue line wasn't called, nor was the behind the play retaliation. And the slash on Toews' hands during overtime should have been a penalty at the very least. I'll also call BS on the Hjalmarsson holding penalty at the end of regulation, given that both teams had gotten away with similar behavior all night.

Yeah... the refs were bad on both sides. How many times does TJ Oshie need to get body slammed, (erm, interferred) and the penatly doesn't get called?
Frankly, the Hawks goalie made several unbelievable saves.

This was a great win because we keep losing players to injuries and the flu bugs. I don't think Backes was even in the lineup.

Given the situation, yeah.
He has a really strong glove, but his stick is weak. He also has a bad habit of collapsing into his net. Of course, these are things that can be corrected with good coaching. Automatically Appended Next Post: Good game for Raanta, (another) horrible game for the officials.
How does Toews not get a penalty shot when Brown does?

Just prior to that hit Eaves elbowed Lupul in the face. They both deserved penalties, and should both face suspensions. In fact I would argue that Eaves' hit was a clearer violation of Rule 48 than Lupul's.
Edit: It was Kindl, not Eaves.

If Kindle was given a suspension over that, then the guy who took Dastyuk our should have been suspended as well, and so forth and so on. That was an accidental hit. Lupul's was purposeful. While they certainly need to create more awareness among the players to keep their gak in line, you can't say the two are on equal footing. Automatically Appended Next Post: AND THE WINGS SCORE!!!!!

I don't agree, Kindl knew where his elbow was going to impact Lupul as he was looking directly at him when coming in to make the play and left his feet; a fact used to justify a suspension against Lupul last season.
As an aside, I'm not a fan of the various outdoor games counting against a team's record if they are going to feature game specific rules that deny scoring chances, as happened to Zetterberg.
