I am so glad to see the Devils finally able to field their full roster, maybe we can finally get a streak going.
I listened to that game until it was 5-1...man, it wasn't pleasant.

Good for the Devils. We managed to duke it out with Chicago last night as well. Two very much needed points gained.

Daniel Alfredsson will be back in the line up tonight. Slowly but surely the Wings are getting healthy again.
Now we just need Datsyuk, Franzen, and Howard to get back to 100%.

Blues won over the Rangers 2-1.
Steener scored his 26th goal, but left the game with a knee injury. That man is snake-bitten this year for some reason.

I just hope that the commentators or "experts" don't call it a "come from behind victory" I mean, at 7-3, even with a 2 goal lead at one point really means they were just biding their time, not getting ready for a comeback.

I heard that the ice was terrible for that game. I did watch most of the Kings/Ducks game on Saturday. That was INTENSE. Edit - Also, the Blues won Saturday afternoon! Thanks to Oshie for his late game goal to tie is up. Now, lets hope tomorrow's game against the Devils isn't a repeat of last week's game

I was, but then I got pissed by the BS goal that slipped by Lehner... The Blues don't look so hot considering the number of power plays they've gotten in comparison to the Sens... Also, we're off to a shootout. Whee! Sens win in a shootout!

Very lame. At least Halak showed up (as opposed to his misadventure in the Olympics). The Western team is like kryptonite to the Blues now. At least they're curb stomping the Central Division team.

Blues traded Halak, Stewart, prospect William Carrier, 2015 1st round pick, 2016 conditional 3rd round pick for Sabre's Ryan Miller, Steve Ott.

I'm not sure how well Stewart has been playing for the Blues but I was a huge fan of the trade that brought him there at the time. That seems like a slight overpayment to me, but I have the Blues winning it all this year and Goaltending was my only question mark. Ott is the exact kind of player you want in the bottom six come playoff time. If Miller plays as well as he can this might be a move that puts them over the top.

Miller is a solid goaltender, but he's getting old, and his stats are showing it. I'm pretty happy about getting Ott...but also trading off 1st and 3rd round picks? Yikes. But as long as Miller doesn't fold under pressure, and plays *consistently*, I'll be alright with it.

They got rid of Halak and the HUGE pay increase he was going to demand this year. They don't even need to resign Miller in the post season. They can sign Elliot, and they've got a promising young guy to bring up from the Minors, and they'll still be pretty solid. St. Louis was looking at a bad cap problem this post season, they just got rid of that problem.

That enforcer of yours is making himself look like a major ass though. Franzen has never been a fighter, never fought once in his entire career, and he just got back after a HUGE concussion injury, and he's talking gak because Franzen refused to fight him. What a punk.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that.
Both Halak and Elliot were going UFA this off season. Both were getting paid extremely low for the level of goal tending they were providing. Elliot was only getting paid 1.8 million. Halak 3.7 million. Both have been playing at 4-5 million dollar levels. I would have bet that St. Louis was going to let one of them go. I still wouldn't be surprised to see them sign Miller, and let Elliot go, and bring Allen up as Millers back up. Give Allen a few years to season until Miller retires, and then let Allen take the reigns.
