Been a little while. I haven't been idle since I got back. I've been working on a few figures. I actually wasn't really ready to take pictures yet of anything since most of the stuff I've been working on isn't at a point yet where I'm happy with it enough to show it off, but I figured it's been a good long while since my last photo anyway, so I might as well show some of my progress.

I'd ordered myself a Pendekar not-TAG from Zandris IV on Black Friday because I was already spending money anyway and I'd wanted one. It came a couple days ago and I assembled it yesterday. I'll probably post pics of it in a couple days, maybe. Anyway, one of the things I'd been planning on doing with it was using one of its two guns to arm my Anaconda with a proper firearm. I hate that the Anaconda is the only TAG in Infinity not carrying it's gun (the Caskuda doesn't count because his are internal and they did sculpt ports in his arms for them). I'm a little OCD when it comes to WYSIWYG and I want my models to actually show what they're carrying. Plus, I have a fear that if I ever play the Anaconda, I'd wind up forgetting that it even has a Spitfire since it isn't carrying the thing. So, anyway, I went ahead and made a gun for it.

Please excuse the slapped on, uneven and splotchy paint on it. I just wanted to get some paint on it prior to gluing it on in order to attempt to avoid getting any paint on the hand itself. I had to mount it a little further back on the gun than where the Pendekar held it, otherwise it wouldn't have fit properly. I added an ammo magazine to where the Pendekar's hand had originally been to beef it up a little and make it look a little more proper.

This beauty is a Reaper figure called the Glom. paintjob is pretty basic. It didn't need to be anything all that special.

How could I pass that thing up though?

On an impulse buy, I'd bought a 3-pack of out of production Crooked Dice minions from FRP. They're all in the same pose, but each comes with 3 optional heads and an optional right hand holding a funky gun. So far, I've only finished these two.

So, one guy with hardhat and no gun, one with hardhat and with gun, and the third has big hair and a gun, but no helmet. No clue what I'll actually do with them, though.

I mentioned before that I'd swapped my Tactical Miniatures cops with the West Wind Roadkill cops. I got all four painted up. They came with some funky hex bases that I ditched. The bases they're using were scrounged from other figures, so they've still got old paint and glue on them. It won't be noticeable after I base them, though.

They are a little big. They're a bit taller and beefier than the SWAT officer I made from the Reaper Delta Force guy and they're a bit bigger than the Mantic Mars Attacks soldiers (who will someday also be SWAT officers). It isn't too noticeable though, thankfully. I still wish I could've got those Tactical guys.

Lastly, I'll leave you with a figure I did entirely for fun, A Sister of Battle with a flamer.

Gun looks good for Anaconda, dont' wanna forget you've got ordinance

That Glom... creepy as hell!

Cops look good. The guy on the far right has the biggest mag-lite I've ever seen!

Very sisterly colors, good work!

Glad to see you back in the swing of things, hope you enjoyed your trip.

I don't know why it took me so long to paint her, but I finally forced myself to sit down and get it done. I've finally finished painting the female Wildcat from the Corregidor box set.

She's another of those damn tiny figures that you absolutely MUST use a detail brush on for most of the work. I think she turned out good. Only thing I'm unsure about is the visor part of the helmet. I'll add glowy bits to the helmet and the little round bits on the shoulders after dipping, but I'm just not sure if I want to keep the visor part green like it is now, or go with a dark grey or some other color entirely.

It's a little hard to tell with this pic, but she has a darkish brown undersuit with her pants in a lighter brown.

Apparently, my Corregidor colors actually work pretty well, because a few days ago, my brother tried using my Alguaciles to check the scale of some trees he got, and after a few moments, he actually couldn't find them among the trees.

Lol. those crooked dice minis? Looks like they would make decent construction worker civvies for Infinity. How do they match up, scale wise?

So that wildcat is related to the Djanbazan hacker? Nicely painted.

They don't scale together as well as I'd like. They're better suited to being civvies in a GW game.

Oh people are of all kinds of sizes. even soldiers are not uniform in size, I was mid range sized in my unit, we had petite men, and some over 6ft tall, those guys we called bullet magnets.

Hey guys, thanks a lot. And a merry Christmas to you all, as well.

It looks like I have to set aside my current projects. My brother picked up Sedition Wars and we're splitting the painting of the miniatures. Tamburlaine is painting the Strain, I get to do the Vanguard. Now, we're doing this for our cousin, same one I did the PanO Fusiliers for last year and the Operation Ice Storm Fusiliers. He's a noob when it comes to painting and even moreso when it comes to even putting miniatures together. So, we're doing the hard parts for him. His birthday is next week, which means I've got a bit of a time crunch to get all of these guys done. So, since we're doing these so our cousin can just quickly get the figures on the board and play, I don't think he's going to care if the figures have had the mold lines removed or super detailed paintjobs. With that in mind, I've opted to ignore the mold lines (they actually weren't that bad on the Vanguard) and I've decided to speedpaint my way through them. So, I've got the first five Vanguard figures totally done and ready for sealant.

I've got seven more assembled and primed and with luck, I'll have them done tonight.

Cool stuff! I've always liked the SedWars minis, if I could get the boxed game over here the same price you guys in the USA seem to find it at I'd own at least one copy. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Merry Christmas!

HA! I managed to pull it off! All 21 Vanguard models, including the characters are finished! The drone is nearly done. Just a few finishing details to do in the morning. But yeah, I got them all done, and in time, too. Now I can get back to painting my stuff at my own pace!

Pic's a little blurry, I know, but that's just because it's late (1:18am, to be exact) and I just wanted to get a shot to show that I'm finished. I'll take a few more better pictures when I have some time, along with the drone.

I hope my cousin likes them too. He's a Halo fan and I was going for a Master Chief-ish look for the Vanguard.

Here's the extra pics I promised.

Here's the Vanguard Drone

I decided to try something different with the drone. To make it stand out more, and due to the fact that it has a lot of hard edges and flat surfaces, I thought I'd try weathering it. This was my first time trying the sponge/foam technique. While the chips aren't very easy to see in the pics, they actually turned out looking surprisingly good in person. I'm pleased with how well the effect worked. Next time I paint up a vehicle or something, I'll have to try it again.

Here's the four hero figures.

These four were probably the hardest of the bunch to do, especially the guy with the exoskeleton. I couldn't just slop the paint on and then a wash and call them done. I'm not especially pleased with them, but I think they'll get the job done.

Lastly, here's a closeup of one of the Vanguard troops I had to modify.

The figure's gun was miscast, so it was missing the right arm. It had the gun and the left hand, but no arm. So, I decided to salvage her using pieces from a Mantic Corporation Marine. The right arm, gun, and left forearm are from the Mantic figure with a bit of liquid Green Stuff filling the gaps. I think she actually fits in fairly well with the rest despite having a rather different looking gun. I'm very pleased with how well this worked though.

Everything is looking great. I like the chips on the hover tank, and that's a good fix for the gun.

I should have had you take a photo of all the Strain I painted!

I feel your pain, having to keep on chugging through the sea of restic to get back to what I wanted to paint.

It was hard at times, but I actually enjoyed painting up the figures (just wasn't a fan of trying to jam my way through everything at the last minute).

I literally finished it all up the morning before we gave the game to him, about 40 minutes or so prior to boxing and wrapping everything up.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Really like the OSL on the base of the drone. Not overdone, but it adds some brightness to the model. Great job.

When I was there it was just him, which meant no girlfriend to keep his nerd levels in check.

He sat there fondling that Grendlr figure for the bulk of the morning

I think our cousin actually took photos of the figures. Maybe Barzam can get him to send us those photos since I don't have the kid's email.

I'll ask him about it if I see him online. i actually don't have his email, either.

Okay, Mercenary Pendekar is almost done. I figure he can stand in as an Anaconda. About the same size and has similar armaments. Plus same sized base. Also, you can see my Anaconda's new gun here, too.

I wish my checks were better. They don't look very good and they're clumped more on one side than on the other. Regardless, I wanted something to make it look a bit more individual compared to the other two. Decals and possibly some weathering to come in the near future. Really not sure about the weathering, since the other two are clean. What say the rest of you?

Also, while checking out the new local game store, I saw the Pacer drone from Relic Knights.

Am I the only one who thinks this thing would make a great Remote stand-in?

Is that base 50mm? I'd say he may be a tad oversized if that's the case (and actually approaching TAG size), but I dunno... it certainly *looks* the part.

I like your not-Anaconda, looks good.

how big are the bases on the Remotes? The Pacer is on a lipped base, so that's making it a bit bigger. I'd imagine you could squeeze it onto a 40mm.

"Normal" remotes go on 40mm bases. "Combat" remotes tend to go on 55. Normal being everything else, Combat being drones with armor like Nomad Sputniks and maybe those Pan-O Bulliteers and such. At least that's how I remember it going. There was a list of things getting changed to 55mm bases but it may have been so far back as to have been on the old Infinity N&R page.

In my current efforts to try and work through the models I have, I've started working on my Mechadrome mechs. I bit the bullet and forced myself to actually sit down and work on them. I was apprehensive to work on them due to their larger size, but once I got going, things went fairly smoothly. Last night I finished applying the base colors to my Mechadrome Light Mech.

I know that's not the most exciting pose. My heavy looks more actiony at least. I painted this thing up to go along with my Grymn power armor, which I'll be using with my Deadzone Brokkrs. It's a pretty small mech, about the size of a TAG.

I had some casting issues with both this mech and the heavy, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to hide those issues with some paint. I'll be dipping this and applying the cockpit window reflections and weathering later.

Cool stuff, I vastly prefer the aesthetics of that mech to a lot out there.

I like him. Since I have 3, I have to stick to my guns with Iron Ancestor 4 lyfe! But that suit is pretty neat regardless I like the colors too, I think I may have to change my own space dwarfs to be a little closer to orange, the yellow I'm using is getting annoying and I don't feel like switching them out to grey.
