Gnolls? No. I do have a few though.

Reaper actually makes a gorilla gladiator and the line chimp Caesar comes from also has a rather large gorilla gladiator and gorilla Legionnaires. These are things I need to own at some point.

I'll be working on them soon. I'm working on that Dark Ages Bane Leader you got me right now. Strike Leader to be worked on in the near future. Gotta figure out a properly nauseating color scheme for him first.

So that's what it takes to get Barzams to Barzam?!?

Okay, new figure for today's update. I've had this Visions in Fantasy figure sitting around for a little while and I just finished him Friday night. Yesterday I did the double tap gloss coat/dull coat sealing, so he's now totally done.

Fox Thief.

If I actually played RPGs, I'd totally try to find some way to play as this guy.

Hah that's pretty adorable. Nice colors too.

Worked on some more Deadzone figures. Two more Brokkrs are done, and so is a Plague Enforcer.

The casting on the Enforcer was not the best. The details on him were very soft, so I had to make due with what I had. I think he's passable at the very least.

And here's the Brokkrs.

Obviously, both are the same sculpt. Since Mantic doubled the figures in the starter (aside from the controller and his drill), I figured I should do something to differentiate them all so that it doesn't look like I've got a bunch of clones running around. To that end, I've decided to do two skin tones and add accessories from the Steel Warriors to help individualize them a bit more. On the Caucasian one, I tried doing something different, actual blending and highlights! It's not very easy to tell from the pics though.

You can also see the modded guns I did. I kitbashed the grips from their original guns with the rest of the pistols from the Steel Warriors sets. I think these wound up looking MUCH better than their stock guns.

More stuff to come.

Hopefully tomorrow, if I can get the work done in time, I'll be doing a little bit of Highlording.

Nice work all round. The plague enforcer doesn't look bad though I don't think I regret not ordering one. The weapon design is a bit iffy and if your report of soft details is the norm then meh, with the new zombie kit, should be pretty easy to duplicate that if I were into it.

He looks good painted though! I like the brokkrs too, the guns look solid, I'll have to see if their stock guns bother me or not as I've surely got the spare parts.

I've gotta get myself some of those little fires you've got, especially for when I get around to painting a Blaine.

The flames are a nice little set, and made even better by the fact that they don't really even need to be painted.

I hadn't even thought of mixing the new zombie bits with the plastic Enforcers. That might look pretty cool.

It probably would but I kind of want to make all of my enforcers proper and legit to have a nice generic power armored space army. If I eat into too many of them with zombie conversions I'll have to buy more!

Okay, I promised some Highlordin' around here and dammit, I'm gonna Highlord it up!

Now, some of these are actually fairly old and have been sitting around for a while.

A while back around the time I did my Eldar, I'd seen someone's Exodite army that I really liked and wanted to emulate it. Plus, I liked the idea of having a team of dinosaur riding Eldar to use in a Song of Blades and Heroes. Sadly, I only ever made this one guy.

This pair of metal lizardmen I found at the FLGS in the consignment case. They were cheap, so I grabbed them.

Do I have a use for them? Absolutely not! I bought them on a whim and painted them purely for fun!

This fellow was an early Bones purchase. I mostly wound up using him to learn how to use washes. He's okay. Definitely not a favorite. Also, I only now noticed that I completely missed the severed head he's got on his belt.

Last but most certainly not least, I present you with this bit of awesomeness.

Yes, that's a German soldier riding a dinosaur that looks like it came from an 80s dollar store. no, it's not a custom. Yes, it's so ridiculously awesome, I had to have at least one for my Weird War Germans. This set comes from Eureka Miniatures' Jurassic Reich line. I'd love to get at least one more dino rider and paint the dinosaur up in a really nauseating color scheme, like bright blue and neon green. I plan on redoing the eyes on the dinosaur after I eventually get the thing dipped.

And, group shot of them all Highlording together.

Definitely some dino/lizard love going on. Saurian love perhaps?

The exodite riding the dino (cold one?) looks fantastic. Should do some more to have a not-jetbike squad The German dinorider should fit right in with chimpius Caesar and your other crazy ww stuff.

Great update

Okay, I'm kind of torn on this. My brother got me a Strike Leader from Dark Age over the holidays because it reminded him of Voldo from Soul Blade. As soon as I saw that figure, I knew I had to give him a ridiculous and garish color scheme. So, here's what I actually came up with.

Thing is, now I'm kind of wanting to undo this and repaint him to match my Romans and Gladiators. Thoughts?

I'm unfamiliar with the reference so I can't comment as to that...

In and of itself... I'm not a huge fan of the green and white leotard pants, personally.

I like the pink/red and the gold mostly, I would probably prefer it to match your gladiators... however I'm also loathe to repaint anything myself so I wouldn't blame you if you didn't

As is, I certainly wouldn't want to run into this guy in a dark, or well-lit, alley. Kind of looks like the darker side of the Joker's clown gang

The funny thing is, those stripes are actually sculpted onto the figure, but the studio colors totally ignore them. Maybe someday I'll pick up another or the guys this dude is supposed to command and paint them up more normally.

I don't think I've mentioned though, you're not going to see many updates here for a little while. I have to move out of my apartment by the end of the month, so my stuff is all going to be packed up before too long. Hopefully I can get a few more updates before then, though.

A few more pics to add. Last night I finished painting the last of my Republic units from the original Afterlife Kickstarter. That took me way too long, but I've finally finished them.

Here's the final two Republic models, the Raider Exo Skeletons with minigun loadouts.

I still have a bunch of Unity Council units left to do though.

Your not- Voldo is appropriately garish.

Gotta agree with GrimDork, it would have been cool to have him more in line with your gladiators. He would have fit in well.

Those Exoskeletons look good painted up. Wasn't a big fan of them based on just the original renders/ prints, but having some paint on it makes a big difference.

I'm sure you can squeeze in an update or two from our parents' house, in a worst case scenario. You paint when you go over there to visit, right?

No, I don't paint when I visit. There's nowhere that has the kind of lighting I like.

It sounds like I need to get another Strike Leader. I think I will keep this one fabulous. I think he's going to be more frightening painted like that. Don't forget, he'll have a clown to hang out with, too.

I wanted to post these pics this morning, but I would've been really late for work if I had. I did a fair bit of mini dipping over the weekend and got a bunch of random figures totally finished. Before I share those with you though, I also finally got around to photographing the Bandai 1/48 Ingram plastic kit I got in Japan.

You're going to need some tall terrain for cover if you plan on using one in a game.

And because you'd probably like one, here's a size comparison with some Enforcers and my Police Squalo.

Seeing Grimdork's recent Deadzone Zombies made me want to finish the four that I'd started back when I got the set. I painted all four last night.

As you can see, my camera really didn't seem to want to take a decent shot of them.

Because my German sorcerer needs things to summon to fight Tamburlaine's scaly hordes, I needed to get some monsters. So, after getting the Bone Fiend, there was no way I could pass up getting a Bone Swarm.

Now I can summon TWO undead abominations!

I think I need a few more. I should get some pics of my finished Glom with them.

I also have a rather Rubenesque Succubus to go with them, though.

Now, before anyone says anything about the paintjob, I know how it looks in this picture. She actually does have a detailed paintjob with highlights and shading and yes, I even properly painted her eyes. The problem is that the lighting in my apartment completely washed out all of that detail.

Speaking of Deadzone stuff though, last night I finished the last of my restic Enforcers that came with the game.

I'm thinking that the rest of them I'm going to do up in desert colors since it's easier to paint than white.

Now, let's end this with some Infinity.

I finally finished the pilot for my Iguana. I think he may serve double duty as an HMG Mobile Brigada until CB releases a proper new sculpt one.

And finally, I finished up the tiny little Wildcat that I'd shown way back when.

Having her finished is somewhat encouraging me to do the other two from the set and finally finish it.

Iguana... wildcat?

Wow nice stuff Glad to see some more DZ zombies, they look nice and gritty.

That's a nice pair of undead monstrosities too!

The Ingram... I kind of want one.. he makes your poor Squalo look tiny though

Nice work all around

Sorry, fixed that. The Ingram does look massive in that pic. It's a decent model, but in typical Bandai fashion, it'll just wind up being a one-off kit, like their The Fool they did from Nobunaga The Fool, or the Round Buckler they did from Mars Daybreak. And, like those, the engineering leaves a bit to be desired. While the Round Buckler was absolute garbage that never should've been released (seriously, I think that's the only time a model actually made me angry) and The Fool could've really done with some more precolored parts, the Ingram suffers from not having the best engineered arms. The joint covers don't extend into the torso, like they should and the connections in the arms want to keep popping apart. On top of that, the arms just feel fragile, like I'm going to break the thing just by handling it. But, at the very least, it'll make a nice display piece if nothing else.

Well, I've got another Deadzone figure. I painted up one of my Peacekeepers last night just to see how he'd look painted up. I tried to match him to my Enforcer Captain, which is why he's got the blue details.

One thing I noticed is that these guys have unusually round heads.

They're also a wee bit smaller than the captain figures.

I also finished my Glom.

I need to get those other undead abominations Reaper makes.

Combizombie is terrifying. The enforcer captain supposedly has a different mark of peacekeeper armor.

So, just a few quick things. I got my Wrath of Kings. Unlike Highlord Tamburlaine, I only purchased one faction, which is obviously Goritsi, because werewolves. I went ahead and assembled all of the extra werewolf infantry. These are really nice figures. Like, surprisingly so. If Mantic and Privateer Press had used this mixture of restic, I don't think anyone would've had a problem with the material. There's almost no mold lines on these figures. I'm really impressed with the quality of these. Also, the werewolves are kind of big.

I also did some Infinity work tonight. Painted up the two remaining Wildcats from my Corregidor boxed set. I tried something a little different on them. Rather than do the visors like I did on the female one, I thought I'd try giving them a colored visor. Thoughts?

Since they're wearing EVA suits, I figured a painting their helmets to look like they've got a sun shield would look kind of cool. I like how this looks, but at the same time, I feel like it makes them look off. Like, they don't look like Wildcats anymore.

So, should I keep the visors like this and redo the female one to match, or should I redo these two to match the female one?

Also, the Skorza are kind of big.

with luck, my Bones order should be arriving this weekend, too.

Nice work. I do like the look of visors, but it all depends on whether or not you are happy with them looking different to their squadmate.

That werewolf chappie is big!

Forgot to mention, I really like the Peacekeeper above, and the multi-zombie-blob.
