Seems like a good read. It seems that China is funding growth by investing in future investment, and given the size of the Chinese economy this could have very large repercussions. It is particularly interesting that both Korea and Japan suffered crashes about 35 years after they started to boom, which would put a Chinese crash around 2014/2015.

Its not a question of if but when.


The question also can be tied into their eventual population crisis as well. They'll be having a serious problem in the next 50 years or so as the consequences of the 1 child policy meets the cultural preference for male children and an increasing amount of elderly people. China could end up being a ghost country and that would have serious economic repercussions.

Not if they get rid of the old people.

Just force that growth triangle back into place.

It's already having some pretty serious repercussions. Apparently there's a lot of sexual frustration going around.

Why would that cause sexual frustration? You can have sex for other reasons than just procreation.

And by significant margin, we mean its something like 5-1(or even higher)

And on the reproductive side of things the girls that are there aren't interested in having kids. They have careers.

I cant remember where I read it, but like 500000 males in china cannot get married if they wanted to.
And this has also lead to older men buying under age brides

I'd say it wouldn't be limited to older men.

We all can say one thing for sure. If we go down we're taking China with us! Europe is just collateral and Russia be stuck cleaning up the aisle due to Putin becoming a Super Power all to himself.

While such a solution could work in the US, or any country with a balanced population of young people, its not going to work here.

The problem is really the fact that the sex ratio of young people is way off. This was caused by the Culture itself preferring male children, and seeing daughters as basically worthless.

They succeeded in bringing down their population, but unfortunately they failed to see what harmful side-effects it would have when combined with their culture.

The social and economic reprecussions from such policies is going to be remarkable in the next 10-20 years.

Even in countries that do not have such a policy, but have lower birthrates altogether such as Japan.

China due for a civil war of some sort. Figure the male population in China drops drastically to effect change in a culture.

Right now we are watching a Documentary about "The Century of Humiliation" in which china routinely got humiliated and also about the Maoist Philosophy and communism.
I do thing china will go the way of the Soviet Union, Communism just doesnt work for a few reasons atleast not in china.
1: Communism was an ideal made by a man, a brilliant man, but an ideal.
2: Communism was made specifically for the west, not for eastern nations.
3: You have to go through stages in order for Communism to work. Feudalism(China Never was very fuedal) Democracy, Capitalism, Socialism and finally Communism. You have to go through those stages in order for communsim to work. It sounds weird, but you cant force commuism to come.

No, the real problem is that Communism does actually work with real people. You have to have perfect people, and that's impossible.

At some point China is going to need all that money it's lending to the US government in order to prop up its own finances. That could rise the price of american debt, especially if it coincides with a financial crash in the rest of the world. Hitherto, governments have worried about interest rates on bonds - it could well be in a decade they may not have anyone to borrow from at all.

I agree, It is impossible, Because people do work and they shuld be paid for it. Im just Citing reasons why it failed for other reasons, Even if you do have perfect people China Did not follow the proper path to get to communism, so it will collapse.

The younger generation Is starting to become disillusioned with their gvt though. Several Chinese international students said they do not want to go back to china, where they are told what and how to think. Heck on girls story she got pregnant so she can stay in america.

Well we can say the same. The young here in the states is becoming disillusion with our government. Well not just the youn but over a wide spread of ages.

Read the article in the OP. China's economy is doomed, I'd be surprised if they ever surpass Russian GDP/capita.

The difference is our Govt doesnt tell us what to think and we can have a rle in the govt if we want too.

I'd argue it's problems are systematic as communism by it's nature reduces competition which leads to less innovation.
