All this chatter about plastic sisters forced me to dig out old boxes this weekend Still trying to sort all of this out
What I can identify thus far:
* 2 unbuilt penitent engines...probably unbuilt for good reasons
* That knight on the left side has a shield and lace, I remember building most of it and primer
* Found a canoness, Jacobus, Coatez and some other inquisitor looking dude. Also found a (I think) metal deathwing librarian and what looks like a champion guy
* Lots of tanks. Not sure if all the bits to the excorsits are there, the pipe organ bits are friggin heavy. One repressor conversion bits still in the bag
* Old school Kasrkin squads FTW. Think those were going to be my acolytes. Best IG models evah!
* Unbuilt avenger, partially built other one.
* Same story with the valkyrie -- found the vendetta conversion bits, just needs to be all put together
* Lots of girls. Quite a few metla/flamer models, a standard bearer. Trying to get an accurate count
* My 3D printed baneblade WIP hehe
Whats still MIA:
* Celestine
* All the jump troops
Maybe I'll get off my butt and actually spend some time repainting all of this.

That's a nice collection you've got there.
When i look at shots like that i keep thinking about an offer i have to buy a friends sisters collection to add to my own. If i did i'd have in the region of 5000 points. I kinda want to, but i'm not sure if i really need to have 8 penitent engines or 5 exorcists or 7 rhinos.... although having 6 immolators would be nice and i could always use more special/heavy weapons... oh and seraphim and repentia, i need more of those...
Damn it... my head and wallet tell me no but my heart keeps telling me yes.

Hey
Trying something different. 1850 points list using two CADs.
Jacobus
5 sisters in Immolator, Dozers. Metaguns x 2
5 sisters in Immolator, Dozers. Metaguns x 2
10 dominions, Simulacrum, Meltaguns x 4
Exorcist
Exorcist
Plasma Obliterator
Celestine
5 sisters in Immolator, Dozers. Metaguns x 2
5 sisters in Immolator, Dozers. Metaguns x 2
Exorcist
Exorcist
Void Shield Generator (3 shields)
Celestine, Jacobus and Dominions in the plasma obliterator. I think it speaks for itself. I am however wondering if the 4 meltaguns are worth it. I do not foresee anything getting anywhere close and, as a last resort, Celestine can always exit and charge if something gets within 12 inches. I like the ablative wounds on a 10 squad as well, but thinking it might be redundant at BS7 with 3 void shields behind the plasma oblit.
keeping the spirit of this list in mind, how would you tweak it? By removing 5 doms and their meltas, I could add another Exorcist in.
I have been facing a white scar battle company and I am thinking the plasma oblit + exorcist will be good at de-mech'ing them and then making short work of the squads with ignore cover 7 inch blasts.

So that last list did not work out too well against White Scar grav spam.
It actually did ok, but the randomess of the Exorcists combined with how many points were invested in the plasma oblit meant I still could not kill the rhinos quickly enough to prevent from him scoring everything he needed to every single turn.
The one thing that did work out well was the MM Immolators in Cover. Most of them survived turn out and then were able to dish out some pain in return. I had some survive until turn 4, probably due to luck, but I figured I would try this list next time:
CAD1:
Celestine
BSS x 5 - Melta, Flamer - Immolator with MultiMelta and Dozer
BSS x 5 - Melta, Flamer - Immolator with MultiMelta and Dozer
Doms x 5 - Melta x 4 - Immolator with MultiMelta
Doms x 5 - Melta x 4 - Immolator with MultiMelta
Plasma Obliterator
CAD2:
Canoness - Rosarius
BSS x 5 - Melta, Flamer - Immolator with MultiMelta and Dozer
BSS x 5 - Melta, Flamer - Immolator with MultiMelta and Dozer
Doms x 5 - Melta x 4 - Immolator with MultiMelta
Doms x 5 - Melta x 4 - Immolator with MultiMelta
Inquisitor Detachment:
Hereticus Inquisitor - Servo Skulls x 3
Assassinorium Detachment:
Vindicare Assassin
Assassin goes into the plasma oblit, less points than previous list and a garanteed ignore cover massive blast each turn. Celestine is a counter assault unit in case something drop pods in my lines.
Immolators on the Dominions dont have dozers as I don't expect them to live more than a turn after they've scouted.
Inquisitor is there to hold an objective in my lines, hard to kill if out of line of sight, and provides 3 skulls to mess up deployment of opponent.^
So a grand total of 8 multimeltas, 20 melta guns and the ignore cover plasma blast.
The things we could do if our transports were free... but for now we'll see how this list fares.

Yeah that is something I had thought about. He does have 3 wounds to go through and, I hope, not too many people will bother shooting at an armor 14 building.
My concern is a drop pod coming in close with meltaguns. This is why I want Celestine close by to counter assault.
I could buy a void shield on the building to mitigate at least one shot, but that is a 25 points that will not be easy to find.

You don't need to pay a million dollars since counts-as and conversions are a thing. And I doubt anyone ever won by surprising someone with Repressors.

"they have how many firing ports? Oh... i guess i shouldnt have moved so close..."
Anything that isn't familiar slows the entire game down. Even new codex's do it (as you and I have proven) but when you throw Forge World into the mix and I now need to ask you for all your rules and read them and think about how to go about prioritizing them which affects my deployment...which means I cant deploy until i know all of that...ugh.
I'm just saying, if i CAN win without running shenanigans, then why resort to the cost of it? No one is arguing its not better. Forge World is frequently too good for its points. What else is news? I'm just arguing that at some point you have to like your opponent a little tiny itty bit more than you do winning. I just want the opponent to come away knowing their vuictory was well earned or their loss was. If I feel somehow "cheated" because of the glut of special rules i didn't know then sure...I probably lost fair and square, but not because the opponent weas better.
the recent GT I attended was a good example. now given, i tabled him. So the RESULT wasn't the issue. But I asked him to go through his army and even HE forgot things I REALLY needed to know. he left out that his War Walkers got like D6 Hammer of Wrath Attacks. That was definitely information i needed to know. he didnt tell me they moved 12" a round AFTEr they scouted. That was kind of salient information. He said his tank was a D weapon but he left out that it was a BLAST D weapon. kind of information I needed to know.
So i took no small measure of pleasure in putting that guy in the ground. i put him down hard and i made sure every model was gone. because everything he had was Forge Wolrd and he was OBVIOUSLY trying to get one over on me. He knew who I was, figured he maybe could beat me if he hid a few things. The hell with that. But lets go down the more positive path and assume that there were just SO MANY special rules that he honestly and legitimately forgot some. Best case. Does it change the effect? no. he still got an unfair advantage and short of sitting for twenty minutes and reading ALL his unit entries special rules and so on... I mean.. come on.
I know that not all players are like this guy. Agreed. you dont need to tell me that. I know that not all forge World is over costed. Agreed. You don't need to tell me that. it changes nothing about the real possibility that either through error, social contract or otherwise, i am at a steep disadvantage unless i sit around in my moms basement all day long reading up on every new thing and buying every new book or whatever. So in lieu of doing all that... i don't.
I say if they want Forge World in tournaments, put it in the normal codex. if TO's would refuse to allow it, they would be forced to if they wanted to sell more models. that ship has sailed but i choose not to even give myself the opportunity not to remember a rule or to "fail to mention it" outside what I should reasonably expect the opponent to know already because its in an actual codex.. 40K armies have enough rules the opponent doesnt know to choke a horse. Adding more seems like a bad deal.
but who knows. maybe I will see something they have that I just MUST have. I doubt it. There's an infinite variety of ways to play before you even get to the need to go there with most codex's. personal choice. Nothing to do with you.

I love my repressors, but I am not convinced they do it any better than an immolator anymore.
Tau missile spam ignores their front armor. Grav spam just doesnt care and eldarshave the mobility to get to side armor.
I like how all Dominions can shoot out of it and remain safe for an extra turn, but being able to shoot efficiently against two big threats with the 4 meltaguns and the multimelta is also a big plus.
I see my doms as sacrificial squads right now. Threats to be removed asap which leaves my SOB and their transports alone. Furthermore the faster I pop the transports, the quicker I can hit them with the AP2 pie plate as well.
if I flip the SOBs from Immolators to Rhinos, I have points to change their flamers to a second meltaguns and I am left with another 65 points after, but no idea where to effectively spend it. I could buy a void shield on the plasma oblit and then I am stumped as to what is worth it.

Name an non-super heavy vehicle with as many fire points? That can be a big "Gotcha", particularly with Doms. Though 70 points gets to be expensive as a ride for sacrificial units. I think that a plain Rhino is probably better... you can have 2 melta/2 Flamer for when the vehicle finally goes up.

I run my BSS squads with dual flamers and a mm/immo. Double CAD gives me four, it also gives me six Melta Dom squads in Repressors. They can scout, have a hvy flamer to roast up passengers the meltaguns disembark. Also, with that many vehicles you can make it difficult for opponents to run around your flank to bypass your AV 13. It's not everything, but it isn't a bad transport, I love them.

I'm actually playing my first game in over a year with rhinos instead of repressors. Repressors are pretty awesome, and I'm going to miss the fire points, but their survivability isn't any better than a rhino, especially in a tourney. they don't live longer because they're FA13. They die to grav, melta, and a million str 5/6 shots to the juicy sides. High RoF Str 6 is everywhere and usually on models with decent mobility. Anyway, I'm testing out rhinos tomorrow. I hate immolators. They are over priced garbage. I've played in almost a dozen ITC tourneys this year and I haven't had an opponent yet that didn't know what a repressor was. Automatically Appended Next Post: Another thing I wanted to do was Put Celestine wit a dom squad in a plasma obliterator with an escape hatch. Give them the box of bones and she gets 2 turns of non scattering pie plates that ignores cover. Put the hatch in the center of the table, and now on turn 3 she can jump out mid board and assault and the doms hop out and melta away.
