Wasn't Wolverine (and every other member of the main cast) dead in the comic? I guess that would be too far a stretch for the film's writers (and too depressing for the audience), but still, that was one of the better parts of the comic. Hey, if this is Jackman's last film we may still get Wolverine's "shot by a Sentinel's laser until all that's left of him is his adamantium skeleton" death scene at least. That bit was great.

Knowing our luck, they'll give him the modern day comic healing factor where the skeleton protects his brain, which is more than enough to regrow his entire body.

NOW he can. When Days of Future Past was originally written, that particular Deus ex Popularity BS didn't happen or exist.

I remember reading DotFP as a kid and being mad as hell and throwing the book (I had the paperback with a couple pictures from the comic) against a wall when Wolverine died. Now I look back at that and see it as a good thing, as Marvel didn't look at Wolverine as their #1 meal ticket back then. Gotta be honest, if Wolverine dies in a noble sacrifice in the movie, I'll be pretty happy with it, in that it'll be comic accurate. It has to be a giant bolt of electricity. And an Omega level Sentinel. A low number. And the Sentinel has to sound arrogant after killing him. Yes please.

-it appears I either have an amazing memory, or have read that storyline one too many times.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I enjoyed it well enough. It had its fair share of problems, and there's parts they did in the trailer I liked that were completely changed (I loved Wolverines rant about not wanting a war in the trailer). But I can still sit down and watch the movie and not feel like I wasted 2 hours (any more than I do feel watching any movie, anyway).

I'm not overly fond of them using the music from Sunshine in the trailer, it was the same for Man of Steel using the music from Gandalfs Death.

I'm also not keen on the casting of Peter Dinklage as an advocate for Human genetic purity. It seems kind of off, especially given the time he was meant to have been coming from. It stinks of "Oh he's popular in this, and it'll be a really interesting casting choice"

Also, if the Sentinels/internment camps come about because of what happened to Senator Kelly then why did that not happen in the X-Men trilogy or in The Wolverine? Why did we not see Sentinels (other than the training room hint) in the original trilogy?

I'd hoped that we'd get a new X-Men reboot after First Class, but sadly they've tried to shoehorn the old trilogy back in.

Also lets hope Rogue actually kicks ass this time instead of being a whiny pain in the ass.

Promise of Sentinels not being delivered in this trailer is upsetting.

What if sentinals are not part of x-men, BUT OF THE NEXT AVENGERS!!!!!!!
PANIC.
But I think Dinklage is a cool casting choice. He is an unknown villain to most of casual movie goers, so picking someone people know who also brings charisma to the roll is pretty good idea.

1. We know they are in the movie.
2. Disney/Marvel doesn't have the movie rights to the Sentinels, Fox does.
