So as the title says, what would happen if for example Kharn(whose. relic is Gorechild) would roll on boon table, and become a daemon prince? Would i still have the relic, and always hit on 2+? Also another question: since kharn has mark of khorne, he does lose rage and CA but does he become daemon of khorne??

The champion becomes a daemon prince, if he had mark of chaos god, he is instead a daemon prince of that god. Ok, i found what i was wondering about marks, but now i wonder about relics, i can't find it anywhere...

The answer you seek is in the FAQ. But short answer is you lose all equipment.

I don't give a damn about GW, their crap rules, their extortionist prices, hot models, limited edition books, Digital Release and spam in a box armies. I don't care about Forgeworld or their shoddy resin and their wacky unit rules or whether or not they're allowed. I don't care. I don't.

I love Warhammer 40000 and if you want to try to spoil that for me, or impose your own vision of it onto mine, then you can go suck a lemon.

The Apotheosis entry tells you to reference the Spawnhood entry with three differences. None of those three alters what happens to his wargear, so you follow what Spawnhood tells you about their wargear.

I'm still bafled has to why this wasn't faqed to be like in the fantasy book, in Wfb when they become a DP, they don' loose their gear or rules or Powers.

But for some reason in 40k they become weaker...

Because Nurgle Daemon Princes with Destroyer Hive, TDA and Manreaper and 2 Nurgle Psychic powers would be bad. Somehow. I think. Dammit GW!

Or would a Mastery Level 4 Tzeentch DP?

Or a DP that autohits on a 2+ with Armourbane?

Or (preFAQ) has Drach'nyen, the Talon of Horus, Mark of Chaos Ascendent and Terminator Armour from Abaddon hulking out?

All those seemingly maybe overpowered perhaps things are balanced out by also becoming a big slow-moving unengaged shoot-me target.

So you think a Daemon Prince with 2+/4++, EW, T6, Int 9, Furious Charge and Abaddon's weapons wouldn't last long? Probably not, but it'd take much firepower to shift him while the rest of the Chaos Marines ran rampant.

Whilst it is annoying that most tooled up lords become weaker when they become a DP and it would be great to have the same rule as in fantasy. You can't buy a Chaos Lord in Fantasy TDA and I think that is the reason, whilst in Fantasy as Chaos Lord already has a stat line near the match of a DP (just 1 wound and 1S less). Abbadon as a DP would just destroy the game. You think he's slow and unengaged? Well to get that roll he's already hit combat so most likely is already where he needs to be.

So I can see why they made that choice. I would have liked them to keep relics if not anything else. That way you get a badass Prince but still only a 3+ armour and 5++ invun on foot. But hey maybe next time.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Yeah a 2+/4++ EW T6 Deamon Prince on foot who can't hide in a squad is more Dangerous then a 2+/3++ Chapter master on bike with Eternal Shield and Burningblade that also have FNP if put in a biker CMD squad...

Yeah definetly game breaking here...

I thought Abaddon was Immune to the Dark Apotheosis

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also the reason why their "weaker" is because any chaos asp champ can turn into one. But when it happens it usually is your lord and its quite the disappointment.

Necro with reason.

Wargear and upgrades are lost upon apotheosis. What about a Warlord trait?

Very clearly answered in the codex, under Spawnhood/Dark Apotheosis.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Funny thing is, if they do change while surrounded in combat... they die instantly as they cannot be placed back on the board

The rules for Spawnhood/Dark Apotheosis. If you cannot place the Spawn/Daemon Prince within 3" of the champion and more than 1" away from enemy models, the champion is just killed, no spawn/prince placed.
