Varying cities in the North

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some inspiration for a White Scars Dreadnought conversion, making it look faster, more streamlined or something. In the codex it says that White Scars usually don't wish to be interred into a Dreadnought due to the lack of being able to 'feel the wind on their faces' and stuff like that, so I was maybe thinking of using the Dreadknight torso and strapping a White Scar in, so he can still get his little speed rush and whatnot? Thanks for any ideas.

If you wanted, you could try make it a massive bike type thing. Dunno how it would work exactly and it'd be pretty hard but hey, why not?

A dreadnought torso with some trukk tires or something in place of the legs. Actually not a bad idea.

That sounds pretty cool actually, if I could make it work...

I've found these which could somehow be converted? Maybe using the Skaven wheel thing and a Space Marine pilot with the dreadnought autocannons on each side of it?

Awhile back, there was an auction on Ebay (long enough ago that it is gone from the site) where someone had a converted a Dreadnought riding a big motorcycle to be a counts as Land Raider Redeemer. It was actually pretty awesome looking. You might want to try that, see if you can get a motorcycle model kit for cheap that's big enough for a dreadnought to be the rider.

You could try using some parts from a cadian walker or convert the torso to an open body dreadnaught. You could shave the sharp edges, give it a streamline look, or you try giving it a large space marine look, maybe get some ideas from that movie pacific rim.

You could always get a Contemptor Dreadnaught from FW....you can easily pose it to make it look like its in a sprint (the model is very pose-able). They look far more agile then the brick-naught.

Make it a quadruped and give it an almost wolf like appearance?

Having it as a kind of "hunting beast" would be pretty awesome I think.

For tracked chassis, try the base from a thunderfire cannon, or the puppetswar tracked gun carriage? Build up the waist a bit and just stick the dread torso on there.

I'll second the thought to pick up a Contemptor from forge world, and use that as your dread. It fits the bill of a more streamlined chassis that looks like it can haul itself out of its own way.

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

Our own MajorTom has a great Contemptor model that just looks like it could feel the wind on the face:

If you are going the COntemptor route, maybe consider fitting a secondary travel system like those out of heavy gear, where the mechs are all pretty much fitted with motorised roller blades to get from place to place more quickly before switching to normal feet for stomping about.

I'm thinking you're going to have to go with the comtemptor if you want a fast dread.

You could model a contemptor riding a giant motorcycle.

I'm still liking the wolf-dread-thing above. I could paint it white with red triangles as stripes in a White Scars-based mimicry of a tiger...

I don't think it'd be that hard to do either (the pic's one I found a while ago, not mine personally) - pretty sure it's just cut-and-shut dreadnought pieces with a jugger head, sentinel legs and a pair of lascannons

@SHUPPET I'm sorry I just googled something like 'fast dreadnoughts' or 'dreadnoughts with wheels' to get the ball rolling (pun intended)

@Brother Payne yeah, it looks like a pretty simple conversion, although the hip area looks fairly scratch-built. It'll be easier with more angles, which I imagine won't be too hard to find *opens google*

And tank tracks but they could be tricky and may require you to cut the strips of track down into individual pieces

The Four legged or Tracked type dreads are viable choices.

or if you want to go the Contemptor route, no need for a Contemptor from FW.

You can get one of these for 45$.

Its 11cm high(4.5inches), it is HIGHLY posable.

Now if you are reluctant to use third parties models, you can always modify a venerable dread with IG Sentinel legs like this.

Or using GK Dreadknightd parts with venerable dread like this.
