I wanted to ask this to people on dakka after I exprienced some OverPoweredness with...my fire warriors...
What happened was that my fire warriors was just standing around doing nothing but taking pot-shots at enemies until a dreadnought assaulted them out of the blue (i wasnt paying attention to it) and killed two of my fire warriors and their shield drone...so It was my fire warriors turn to strike back...with EMP grenades...5 of them to be exact as each fire warrior can take them at 2 points/model...the dreadnought was dead instantly...

So have you experienced anything OverPowered in 40k?
if so...comment below!

I'm not sure you understand what "overpowered" means.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

When i first started 40k my firewarriors very frequently defeated enemies in CC. It always amazed people at my school, to the point where people started shooting them instead of assaulting them. Never under estimate a fire warrior haha.

In 40k now? Forgeworld Tarantulas are pretty sick, especially with Salamanders.

In the bygone days of yesteryear? Last edition's Necrons had both Monoliths and Warscythes that were almost too potent to be believed. A melee weapon that ignores both armor AND invulnerable saves? Plus a vehicle that basically ignores half the rules for vehicles, and is essentially indestructible? When the new codex came out and traded those two things out for Mindshackle scarabs, I took the swap with a smile!

I tend to take issue with anything that can ignore cover at range, particularly if the strength value is high. Flamers are fine, as they are very short range, and not likely to need 2+ to wound. But blastmasters (as an easy example)? Not so much.

Battle Brothers.

Certain forms of Psyker spam as well. There should have been a proper Psychic phase implemented if they wanted it to play such a large role.

Most Over Powered thing in 40K? Cheaters. People who need to win with plastic toy soldiers, who need to get an extra 1/8" of movement, or have their plastic toy dolls, hiding in a building with a cover on it, and claim it's 1mm away from being hit.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

You do realise the only reason this even exists is because of how broken & OP the 'Blessings' type of psychic powers are?
If Blessings could be countered like all other psy powers, the 2++/re-rollable saves wouldn't be auto-possible for Tzeentch Daemons.

The single most OP/broken thing in the game is the entire Divination psychic lore. Why? because 6 of the 7 spells are freaking 'Blessings', which have all of about 2 possible counters in the entire game! (SW Runepriests or Shadow in the Warp)
And even the single Malediction power is stupidly good - re-roll successful saves. Makes pretty much anything, even crappy Lasgun shots into something absolutely terrifying.

Divination is 40k's version of Fantasy's Lore of Shadow, which is typically heavily comped in a lot of major tournaments.

Without any other units or buffing characters - the wave serpent for points. Fast, skimmer, 12/12/10, 3 hps, 4 st 6 tl shots, 2 st tl 4 rending shots, d6+1 tl ignore cover st 7 shots, 4+ cover in the open, 10 man transport capacity, can instead of using st7 shots make itself almost invulnerable to pens, and worst of all is a dedicated transport. All for 145pts. For 10pts more it can also have 3 tl s6 rending shots.
Only the annihilation barge comes close to being that undercosted.

Pretty much this.

anything with 2+ rerollable saves is extremely bad.

Rick Priestley said it best:

The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. And all are due to the flawed Psychic phase.

Firewarriors behind an aegis defense line. Basically tau player deployed corner and ended up with a 4 point objective in his base and 3 point just a few inches outside of defense line. Every time he was shot at he would go to ground behind the line for a 2 up cover, then next round use the marker lights from other units behind the line to raise their bs back up to full. It was a very solid strategy since he lucked out with the high point objective.

Nope, i've only been playing for about a year and the biovore until that game had never been on the top my list to get. Obviously the barrage would have been great in that situation.

Tell that to the guys that keep winning all the tournaments.

Da boyz GT had screamerstar win the doubles and Jetstar win singles with nearly perfect generalship score.

I think it's more just that most vehicles in general are rather bad in 6E barring a couple exceptions (primarily a handful of flyers and a couple of skimmers), rather than being anything wrong with MC's.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

I'll have to second that. Vehicles are in a very sad state. I'd love to run them, but at the moment they are just expensive point sinks.

That does not stop me from running IH with as many dreads and tanks as possible, even if it is not competitive

The real game breakers are the badly implemented psychic powers and their usage. Some of them are simply too cheap for what they do. As an example hemorrhage and perfect timing being equal in cost?

Also another game breaker was mentioned multiple times already but can't be stressed enough. Battle Brothers make so many imbalanced combinations possible that I really do wonder if the guys at GW are capable of any kind of playtesting. Of course if their testing is at the level of WD batreps, I understand..

Lesser problems are caused by units that are simply too good. Wave Serpent is the best example of this. A transporter that puts up way more fire than the transported unit, is way more durable than a battle tank and manouvers like a monkey. Units such as AB (because of the extra with a roll of 6 to hit) and Night Scythes are there also.

This game has some serious issues, but can be a lot of fun. Just keep trying different lists, never take it seriously enough to get stuck running the same units.
