The 2-pistol Reb is actually a model I got from the Sedition Wars kickstarter, but with his long coat I thought he would fit right in

yeah he's a nice model, i might try and pick one up for my reb faction.

Nice model Xem, especially for somebody who says he doesn't paint very much, on your next ones might I suggest a few more paint washes and highlights on the skin and hair/beard to really make your details pop out

Heavy Weapons HOOOOOOOO!!

And I figured with this latest addition I should just get a group shot of all the Enforcers, so here they are, scouring an abandoned hab-block for Plague.

Cheers guys, now i have 2 regular enforcers and the scout bike to paint before painting up the solid plastic enforcers and the Peace keepers but before I do them I want to take a break from all this white armour and try my hand at something different, so should I....

A) Get painting some beardy space dwarves
B) Try some colour on bendy space elves
C) Or add a bit of life to some special mercenary figures (which ones?)

I vote space dwarfs as I'm somewhat undecided on color schemes for those (studio scheme is looking better and better if I'm honest), although I wouldn't mind seeing your work on some of the mercs.

Yeah I've been thinking about my forge fathers, still haven't come to a final conclusion for the scheme, I know i want a lot of black gold and blue for the exo-armour troops but the actual main bulk of the squad is proving to be tricky, I was thinking black and orange for the clothes or possibly deep reds and browns... hmmm...

He really does. Great choice.
I'm going to try and shoehorn 3 Vanguard character figs from sedition wars into my rebs.

I wanted to use some of the other SW models for my Rebs too, but in the end I decided against it as I wanted to use a range of the Mantic alien models.

I have based all my Rebs with the SW bases, though

2 more finished:

Those are great! I like that they get close to the studio scheme but they're a lot dirtier and bloodier of which I much approve

Looks liked they might be dipped? Also, Tamiya clear red, or blood for the blood god?

Nice stuff.

I really like the effect on the "bone" areas, looking good!

Actually they are not dipped. The process for achieving the look you see is as follows:
Prime grey
overspray with flat white
agrax earthshade wash
seraphim sepia wash
drybrush the carapace with khaki
drybrush the carapace with off white
drybrush the carapace white
paint flesh with bloodletter glaze 3 layers
Carrosburg crimson wash on flesh
The blood is indeed blood for the blood god
Tausept ochre for the eyes.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I really enjoyed painting these. The enforcers not so much & I may strip them & start over.

Awhile back I was on a quest to acquire a Keegan Kor (not Riddick basically) for my brother, the marine, as a gift. Well I did & he uses him as Señor Massacre in Infinity. I have a second one on my painting queue & I was curious if anyone had a thought which merc he would proxy well for in Deadzone?

Blaine. Blaine has some Riddick references in his character and is probably the most badass of the mercs. At least at fighting, others can shoot better but none are better at punching people in the face and walking away from explosions than Blaine. YMMV.

Looking closer I can see the extra effort, some of the pooling reminded me of when I dip stuff so that was my guess.

Where would one acquire Blaine's stat card? I have the wave 2 deck & he's not in there.

I should have my rebs finished today & I'll post them as well. When all the bases are all done I'll go back & do the sides of them in one go. Mostly because I'm not sure how I'm going to do them just yet.

Nice addition to those enforcers

Hey, I just saw these pop up on facebook. I'll say it again, lovely models, great work! I believe that's the first urban pattern jotuum I've seen. I also like the subtle squad coloration for the forge guard, nice touch.

Just need some steel warriors now, eh?
