Sadly so very little is known about this book overall.

Build it as a trygon and whenever the need arises proxy it as a mawloc.
Trygon looks better anyway.

Nobody knows, really. One seems to have a devastating gun at medium range, and the other still has the same guns from last edition only for much cheaper.
Still, until you are using them in various situations and against various opponents, you won't know.

Wow, that was a bit harsh. HBMC was just pointing out how weak it is at shooting, and did not appear to be whining.

I'm tempted to start magnetizing but I would hate if they magnets were too wobbly or they showed even slightly with paint jobs....

The trygon is not too bad to magnitize, there is just a lot of them, depending on what parts you want to mag.
The differences are;
Head/mouth
limbs
tail.
I magnetized all of them on my first trygon, but used the same tail on the second.
Once you get the hang of it, its not terribly hard to get it so the magnets don't show at all (the ball and socket joints help a lot).
The most tricky part of the trygon is the head - the kit does not contain enough pieces to make two complete heads, so there are some creative solutions out there to deal with that.
I just got another lower jaw from bits vendors and have two complete head assemblies.
The tervigon is a bit more tricky, but can be done ....the challenge is created magnet points for the eggs sack, and then just accessing it.
also, the big tfex gun is a bit difficult to get on and off depending on how you do it.
I will be coming up with ways to mag most of the new models, and will post up guides once I get them done.

Most people i see who magnetize the trygon/mawloc just do the mouth/head. That is the first thing someone notices when looking at the model. The number of scales on its tail? not so much.
Im really hoping the mawloc no longer allows cover saves. The cover you are using is being eaten along with you!

I wouldn't mind a Mawloc staying at 170 points if it had Ignores Cover on its special attack, though I would still prefer it to drop to 160 or 150 if that was the case.

Tervigons (I found) do not magnetise well the bits are really heavy for Tervis and T-fex's. Also this is easy, Tervigons are still going to be staples - so if you don't already have enough Tervigon's, definitely build them if not, Tyrannofex just got a massive points reduction so have fun with your new rampage mode heavy support big bug.

Hey SHUPPET, do you feel people will pay the 60 gant tax to field 2 Tervigons as troops? I think there will be a shift from the current standard of 2 + 2 to 1 + 1. This, of course, depends on a lot of thus far unknown factors.

I'm not SHUPPET but personally I'll be dropping from three Tervigons to two for Troops. With everything else in my list getting cheaper though, this won't be an issue - my Flyrants each dropped 55 points, freeing up 110 points which with other stuff also dropping in points will cover the extra 40 Termagants I will have to run plus the cost increases on Tervigons. Depending on how Trygons and Mawlocs fare, I may be swapping them for other stuff. I presume I'm going to be getting at least two Harpies/Crones if the rules are as good as they sound.

What will probably make or break Harpies and Hive Crones for me is whether or not they'll have a 3+ armour save or remain with their current 4+ armour save. The latter probably meaning that every lootas mob, quad-gun or a few flak missiles will kill it in one round of shooting.

At 4 points a model basic, its only going to cost you an extra 10 points to get the extra 20 gants compared to the basic 10 for 50pts now. So yeah I can definitely see people fielding 60 Gants and 2 Tervigons as there troops.
And based off what we have seen yet, if people are only willing to field the one Tervigon as troops. What are they going to do with the rest of there troop slots?

30*4 equals 120, not 60. You're paying 70 extra, not 10.

As AlexHolker stated, it's more expensive. Also, let's not forget that the tervigons themselves are receiving boost in points which exacerbates the issue. Finally, with 60 gants on the table and two tervs spawning, will people actually have the gants to put down? Personally, I have 82 painted gants and I would not feel confident that the 22 gants available for spawns would be enough, thereby potentially wasting one of the tervigons main advantages. If anyone has rolled high on 3d6 and not had the models to put down, well, you'll know what I mean.

I tend to hold off on spawning anyway, untill either late game so I can spawn them straight on to an objective. Or if they are within range to spawn, move and assault. Or if my Tervigon is about to die. There is nothing worse than rolling to spawn first turn, rolling a 1,1,2 and having 4 extra Gants in your deployment area.

I'm hoping for T5 W5 3+, I think that would fit very nicely. I can't see them being T5 W4 4+ like the old Harpy, I mean come on, it is the biggest flying monstrous creature model ever done by far. No other FMC has ever been on a flying stand. It would make no sense to have the old defensive stats.

You absolutely have to magnetise the arms. It's super-easy. 5mm x 3mm magnets fit perfectly in the arm sockets. We often switch out from regular claws to scything talons or, when we have the points, crushing claws. You will hobble yourself if you don't do it.
It's pretty easy to magnetise the belly, too, just in case you need a tryannofex down the line. Here's a good guide:

Do Tervigons still only produce the one "breed" of Termigant? I've always thought it would be cool if they associated different Tervigon weapons/biomorphs with different Termigant weapons/biomorphs.

We have know way of knowing yet. Although it is unlikely.
Also
Warhammer 40,000 Psychic Cards: Tyranids is the complete set of 7 Psychic cards available to Tyranid collectors. As they are the psychic powers from Codex: Tyranids, they can be used in conjunction with Psychic Disciplines, which can be found in the Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook.
This description would indicate to me, that we can still access the Rulebook powers.

The tyrannofex should only really use the flame template. It's BS is garbage, use it as a fire magnet for close assault. Preferably with endurance cast on it.
I don't have any tervigons, they are not useful in my list, plus gants are trash, I'd rather spend the points on 30 gargs with sacs!
