Late as it is (I hope not too late), I got to do some more work and take a couple (not too good) pics tonight.

I'm far from convinced with how they turned out, but even if thrice better, I would still feel I'd be falling short of such an outstanding display... Awesome jobs, all around.

Edit: Spoilered the old pics, better ones to be uploaded in an upcoming post.
Spoiler:
Photos are not the best either, I'll try to improve on those tomorrow.

Cheers to all, and good luck.

Well, just as I always do I waited to do the bulk of the work on the last day, shoot! Anyway, I had built a pirate-themed base but if I don't get it painted up in time here are the pictures I will be submitting. Ahoy, Matey!

Didn't think I'd get this guy finished up but here's how he ended up. I'm happy with how the base turned out but I'll still have to play around with the freehand designs on the shoulders. A lot of little things I didn't get done but considering he's really a test model for my overall army I can't complain. Pictures ended up a little bit better but I'm still got a lot to learn about getting close up pictures particularly around the face and still having to play around to get the camera to focus properly.

There are a heap of really excellent entries in this comp. Glad I'm not one of the judges.

Same guys, better pics.

Still inadequate, not up to the master's quality of the entries displayed so far, but good I guess, on he other hand, for a first try.

Guard N° 1

Guard N° 2

C&C are always welcome.

Again, great show everybody, and thanks Bebop for running the Challenge, good call!

Cheers,

The third time's lucky, and in so I finally managed to get some better pics, though AFTER the Comp had officially ended!

(Not minding that, I'd still post them here, just for kicks and C&C. All remaining flaws are the painters alone)

Cheers to all, and good luck!

Likewise, I'm not going to let the end of the competition stop me from finishing my guardsman to what I had originally envisioned, it's been too much fun! Here is the base so far, I was considering adding either a parrot hovering over his shoulder or a tentacle about to attack the poor sod from under the dock. I'd also like to go back and add some more detail to the model, as well as attempt to paint another design on the blank shoulder pad.
