Are there any plans to attend any conventions in California?

The West coast is difficult for us, since we're on the Atlantic coast of Florida.. so thats like 3+ days of driving there, or a flight and having to ship our stuff.

That's not to say its not doable, we're looking into hitting up Sakura-Con in Seattle next year and possibly Kingdom Con in Cali.

First post updated.

So far, our 2015 Main Events are looking to be Sakuracon (Seattle, WA), Adepticon (Chicago, IL), CMON Expo (Atlanta, GA), Gen Con (Indy, In). We will probably skip on Templecon, and are considering going to Origins.

Due to some circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to make it to Mechanicon this year.

Currently our Plans for 2015 are Sakuracon, Adepticon (with SWM), CMON Expo, and Gen Con. However, we have been unable to get exhibiting information out of Sakuracon and Gen Con, so those might not be possible after all.

We are looking into possibly trying Origins again, and other options. Feel free to suggest stuff.

I vote Origins, but I'm biased... Mostly because it's close to me.

I vote for Patcon.

It's the conventiong where you stay over my place for a few days. I cook food and we play games.

No Vending info yet, I'll try to remember to keep an eye on it.

Is this going to be like that Stephen King book? Where you break Matt's legs and force him to write a bunch of Dwarf units?

Dates?

How far away and when? Depending on the time and such, I could reasonably attend that one!

Wait.. Origins is still a thing/

I had thought that one has been circling the drain of irrelevancy for years.

The biggest reason why OTL wouldn't be at Origins is because much like Catyr implied, Origins is circling the drain a bit. Their booth prices are on par, if not more expensive than GenCon. Except that it's like a quarter or even a fifth of the size of GenCon. Not to mention that GenCon had 56k unique attendees (people that bought badges) in comparison to Origins' 12k unique attendees.

Honestly we should just have "CleavelandCon" in Cleveland/Lakewood, and you, your family, Ramos, and myself just play Endless/eat good food for some Saturday

GC was supposed to let people who weren't at the show fight for scraps in September, but they still have not given out the forms.

It's looking like unless we can bum space off of someone, we aren't going.

GC really needs to move to a bigger convention hall... They never will though, it would make them have to move to a city on one of the coasts.

Contact Neal at the WarStore.

He did it last year, can't see a reason why he wouldn't in 2015

I've got nothing against Origins. It was my first convention, but at the same time it is falling in quality, especially when GenCon is a month later and makes Origins look like a withered husk. :(

Here is our finalized schedule for the year:

Adepticon, as part of the Secret Weapon Miniatures Booth
CMON Expo
Gen Con, as part of the Bombshell Babes booth.

Sakuracon just didn't work out for this year (as I still don't have the forms, we will try again next year.), but we've got a space at Gen Con thanks to Patrick Keith.

Nice getting a spot at GenCon! That is hard to do, and seemed like a great fit for you guys in 2013.

2013 was both rock bottom and an upswing year for origins,
2014 was an upswing year more people packed than previous years..

Origins less of a meat market then Gen-Con. Its more about interaction with creators and casual gaming.

My first year at origins was 2008 which seems to be the beginning of the downswing. I've been every year since. Origins seems more effected by the slight constriction of the industry around 2008-2010. But since the Tabletop revolution started by Table Top, It has started to grow again.

But It is very different from Gen Con. A lot of the games released at Gen Con are previewed and early demoed at Origins.

Also Origins is a great place for open and casual gaming. So an Endless game of Endless is more possible than at Gen Con

The biggest thing hurting Origins, is it is an After thought for GAMMA, their main priority is GAMMA TradeShow 1st and Origins second, and it does show.

On the subject of Gen Con, we could use a few hired goons to assist with demoing EFT at the show. If you'd like to volunteer for a few hours, we'd appreciate and reward it.
