Enforcer kinda looks like he's trying to bring down a sniper or an aircraft.

Yeah, I imagined him shooting up at another level. I actually bent him back a bit to do that. It may look silly when he's up high, but if he's on the ground level it won't look so bad.

So I finished off the Reb trooper and Heavy enforcer. I am very pleased with how the Reb came out. The enforcer came out just like the other ones, no surprise there. Here's how they ended up.

Lastly, I found these while I was looking through some Mantic stuff for a swap shop trade. I think these are Storm Rage Vets. I obviously don't know the rules for the Forge Fathers yet for Deadzone, but I figured I would mess around and get them painted up. I really like Mantic's scheme they released, but I'm afraid they would end up looking too much like me enforcers except with orange instead of red shoulder pads (if you've seen the FF update you know what I mean.). Anyways, here they are. Look familiar, Grim?

Any ideas on what to do with them would be appreciated. As always, thanks for looking!

Don't know how I have missed this. I have some Stormrage vets too and was thinking either a brass scheme with dark green accents or maybe vice-versa. I have also seen some verynice yellow schemes, but that personally I am useless at yellow. Some great progress here, I think your reb trooper is my favourite figure of all of yours. Keep up the steady progress.

Curses, the auto-append hid your fleshier update from me! Hate it when that happens

Reb and heavy look good. I used the (apparently) wrong dip on my first batch of stormrage vets, they came out waaaay dark. I'll paint any more that I bother to assemble in some kind of mustard yellow. I kind of like the stock blue scheme they've used in the past, and the dark grey with accent colors is nice though you are right it will probably look alot like your 'forcers.

What about a darker red, blood or gore or something, with rust red/orange highlights, then either black for an offcolor or weapon color. I guess kind of like the Helfather stock scheme. It would make them look pretty mean.

So I got off work early today so I came home and did a little work on some assorted models. Mostly built a few of the guys I haven't gotten around to yet. Thought I would put up a quick update. Tomorrow I should get some real progress done. Wife will be at work all day, so it will just be me and the dog. Perfect for getting loads of hobby stuff done. Anyways, on to the pics!

The two heavy marauders. Plan to make these look old and rusted as I can. I didn't add alot of the extra bits, as I kind of thought I would go with a more simple approach. I like them looking a little less busy.

Next is the recon enforcer. I have this guy in the other room with his primer drying as I type this. He will definitely get some paint this weekend. Also the two Grogans. Got the basecoat down on one. Still have to decide what to do with the other. Don't want to make them too similar.

I will show off the Grogan more once I get him finished up. Anyways, thats all I have for now. Have a lot planned for tomorrow. Thanks for looking and as always, feel free to comment!

Thanks TOT. I definitely thought the Reb came out as well as any of them too. I thought alot about the forge fathers today and I think I'm gonna try to make them like the Mantic stock photos. I'm just gonna go with a lighter gray, so that they don't look just like my enforcers. We'll see how it goes. I struggle with yellow as well. I try to avoid it when possible.

Hmm, I kind of like the less busy ripper suits. I may consider taking off the shoulder cannon thing, it doesn't seem to fit right anyway.

So one more quick update before I call it a night. Only got the Grogan done, but I like how he came out. I tried to do some extra work with his skin tones. I don't know if it shows up, but I know I did it. I have started working on the second Grogan and hope to have him and a few more models up tomorrow.

As I said earlier, there will be no coherency to my Rebel faction. Just whatever I feel like doing. I'm going to try to make their equipment and clothes a little ragged and aged as well. Hope it shows.

Well, thats all for tonight folks. Thanks for looking and as always, feel free to comment.

He looks pretty good, I like the gun, looks nice and beat up yet functional.

I'm happy with how he came out. The mold lines are super noticeable in these photos, but don't look as bad on the tabletop. I just don't have it in me to fight with restic mold lines. I get some of them, but most I just paint on over.

I think the gun is the best part of the model. Its GW gunmetal, then GW Typhus corrosion, followed by nuln oil. I mostly used P3 paints for the rebs so far, but that gun is all citadel paint.

Ahh now that you outed it as Typhus, I can see it. No little sandy bits that I can see, but that's probably best since it's unlikely he'd let his gun get *that* junky. The Grogan seem neat, interested in seeing some fluff for them.

And now, for something completely different...

I do most of my hobby shopping on eBay and Amazon since I don't have a FLGS. This is great for hobbying on the cheap, but sometimes you see something you don't need, but its too cheap to pass up. This is a prime example. While looking around on eBay I ran across this empire cannon and crew new in box for less than 10$. Just couldn't pass it up. I've been working on it for about 2 weeks now as a side project and finished it up this morning. Thought I would put some pics up.

Well thats it for now. Probably have some more stuff up later today. As always, thanks for looking and feel free to comment.

Thanks! Definitely give it a go.The enforcers seem to be my faction of choice for playing style, but the more I work on the Rebs, they're growing on me, aesthetically speaking. Much more fun to paint since there is more variety. Either way, its been a blast and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Nice cannon and crew. Those are from my favorite era of empire troops. Have you got a large empire army?

Not at all. I have a small Mordheim warband made up of imperial militia but no empire army. I play OnG for WHFB. It was just so cheap I figured I'd pick it up. I will find a use for it, plus its fun to pait something different.

So back to Deadzone. During the KS Mantic said that there would be rules for zombies. Plus, I have a Scavvy gang that also need zombies. So I kind of two for oned it with these guys. Nothing fancy here, just grimy, gross zombies. These are from the GW zombie kit. This is not one of their stronger kits, but you can usually find them pretty cheap, so I sprung for it. That and I have a fledgling VC army (that started as a Mordheim warband) so I will use the rest for that. On to pics.

That is an early WIP Scavvy ganger on the end there. He, along with a few more models, will be getting worked on as the day progresses. Thanks for looking and feel free to comment!

Empire were my first love. I love that era too Grim the starter set you got in whatever edition of Warhammer it was, was brilliant. The spearmen with the lion head shields are my favourite. I had a purple Empire army back in the day too Squall, that was some savvy bidding to get it for that price.

More Rebs please.

Ok, last update for the day. Didn't get quite as much done as I'd hope today, but I won't complain as I got a few models finished, a few started, and did some other hobby related stuff. Cut more bits off sprues to put in my bits box, etc. I'm not above making my own deadzone models and using them as reb troopers or whatever... but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Finished off my Scavvy ganger and got started on two more rebs. Here's the pics. Mind you, the rebs are very early WIP.

Thats it for today. Don't know how much hobbying I will get in tomorrow, but I will get stuff up as I get t done.

As always, thanks for looking and feel free to comment!

So couldn't sleep so I've been messing around at my hobby desk. Went through some bits and made a few Scavvy gangers for my gang Figured I'd post them since everyone loves Necromunda stuff.

The guy on the left counts as having an autopistol and maul, and the guy on the right has a blunderbuss. This time I'm done for real. Till tomorrow Dakka!

I love the shotgun zombie It looks like he's just kicked down the door and is about to introduce the contents of the room to his boomstick, awesome The other guy is solid too, are parts of him from the empire flagellants box or am I seeing things?

He is from the empire flagellant box, and his weapons are from the empire militia box. The Blunderbuss guy is from the Vampire counts zombie and militia boxes, and his gun if from the empire militia. The grate is a piece from a rhino that I cut off. Pretty simple conversions. The only modelling I had to do was a little green stuff on the right guy's arm so it connected to the blunderbuss. Nice and simple, just how I like it!

So haven't done a lot today hobby wise (or life wise to be honest) but I have put a little work in on my Scavvy gang. Got some base coats on the two I built last night, and made another ganger. I'm sure many of you can figure out where the body of the new guy came from.

The guy in the middle is my favorite so far, but we'll see how they all turn out.

The green stuff on the base is simply there to make the transition more smooth between the Mantic inserta tab and the base. By the time I put the textured base paint on there I hope you won't be able to tel. I thought about cutting it off, but I was worried I would ruin his feet.

Lastly, I was playing around with some of my Deadzone terrain and made a pretty neat looking compound. Thought I'd put it up. Need to get around to painting more of this stuff. That will happen eventually.

Ok, so I'm gonna go on a little side tangent here. I have made most of my Necromunda models from 40k / fantasy bits as most people do now a days. One gang that I don't feel lends itself well to this is the Van Saars. That is until now. I've been checking out the new Scions GW is releasing next week and I think the may be perfect. Some of them even have mustaches. Take a look and tell me what you think.

It even comes with plenty of weapon options.

I will probably buy a box or two of these for this purpose.

Anyways, thanks for looking guys, and as always, feel free to comment.

I'm actually really excited to get a box and see what I can do with them. I threw some stuff on eBay tonight so I won't have to spend "real" money on them (two boxes of infinity models and an old N64 game that people pay way too much for). So I should have them in about 2 weeks. Might even get two boxes and just make the full gang in one go. The only thing I'm not sure about is how to make the juves. I thought about making the gangers have no mask and the juves having the mask. I guess I'll figure it out once I get my hands on them!

Yeah lack of mask for sure. Maybe also the less fancy of the weapons available. Do you have other cadian or catachan IG bits you could dumb them down with?

Lots of both. I have quite a few catachan bits as they are good to make Orlocks with, and Cadian bits because I have a small allied force for my BA.

So I've been busy this week. With the weather warming up here in VA. I've actually had to be a grown up and do yard work and things like that around the house. Bleh. But I did get some hobby time in this evening. Finished off two more members of my Scavvy gang. Here's the whole group so far.

I will be out of town this weekend seeing my in-laws, but that means I will get some gaming in. That also means no painting or building though, so no progress on here for a few days. Will get back at it as soon as I can. Thanks for looking, and as always, feel free to comment!

They're plague zombies. They come with the leader (who I have yet to paint). You can also choose to have him come with hounds or ghouls. I just like zombies.

Oh sweet. I think the Scavvy guys must not have been in the main rulebook, it was the only thing I ever read for the game, and I never got a chance to play it. Definitely fun to watch mordheim/deadzone/necromunda bands come together though!

So as I said, I wasn't able to get any modelling or painting done this weekend, but I did get some gaming in this weekend. I played a game called Full Thrust which I have never heard of, but was pretty darn fun. You write down your movement orders in secret and everyone moves at the same time. Your movement is also based on your velocity and vector. The movement phase was the best / most important part of the game. We fought a 3 way battle, and I ended up winning when Canadian Beaver's (Dakka user name) ran his last ship strait into an asteroid. Took a few pics and thought I would show them off.

My fleet is in the upper left corner.

Here we all met in the middle and shot the crap out of each other.

Just thought I'd show that off. I will be back to hobbying this evening / this week and should have a "real" update on deadzone and necromunda.

Any game that ends when an opponent smashes his last ship into an asteroid sounds cool to me and that movement phase sounds very interesting.

Nice bit of kitbashing on the Scavvies too.
