Interesting that there are no guns, do they have an option or are they melee thugs only now? Like the colors so far.

There are options for guns and for grenade launchers. They are both very short range however, so I just figured I would make them CC specialists since I won't have many playing Guard and all.

Since they are armed with Power Maul's maybe either add a lightning/powered effect or a metallic blue finish to the Maul's at least.

Metallic blue sounds like a good idea. I'll give that a try tomorrow.

So I got a very exciting shipment in yesterday...

I would have posted about it last night but I was too busy playing with it all. Got this from the Dakka swap shop. One of my buddies and I are having a Necromunda games day soon, so I got to playing around with the new terrain (it included the outlanders stuff in the Necromunda box) and here is what I've come up with so far. I added my Deadzone stuff to help crowd the table more. The best thing is I haven't even used all the bulkheads / cardboard yet. Still trying to figure out how some of it works.

The bottom corner is a little bare right now, but I can fix that. Thats all for now, I will get back to actual models later today, I just had to share this as I was so excited.

Please....

I will be an indentured servant of yours for the Nercomunda box.

On a happier note of the same topic, I really love the Nerco terrain and that!

Big fan of the new Ogryns, and that Necromunda terrain brings back many happy memories. thing is given how old it is it still stands comparison today.

Grim - Its gonna be a blast once I finally get to play on it.

Tanakosyke- If you lived close I would say come play on it, and I wouldn't even indenture you!

Thraxis- The new Ogryn kit is pretty awesome. Once again, as with the Scions, its not very modular, but maybe someone more creative than me could do some cool stuff with it. Even still, it makes great looking models, just using the stock bits, and thats all I ever ask for.

So this weekend was my wife and I's first anniversary, and we spent it at Busch Gardens, so I didn't get a lot of hobby stuff done. I have gotten some work done today though, so figured i would share.

First up, a few more IG infantry. Not too exciting, but I haven't put any up in awhile, and they are what I've mostly been working on. Here is the latest batch.

Next up is a wraith for my tiny, but slowly growing Vampire Counts force. Loved this model. Don't know if I did it justice, but I gave it a go. Especially like how the scythe turned out.

Last up are some of my Goliath models for Necromunda. A buddy of mine who lives out of town is coming in for a weekend of gaming in late June, and the main thing we will be doing is a Necromunda campaign. Each of us will run two gangs and one of mine will be Goliaths. The two is the center are done except for the bases. The outer two are still WIP.

So that is what I've finished up today. May very well have some more up later this evening. Hope you enjoyed and feel free to comment!

Did you use converted bits from the Chaos Mauaders box and Catachans? I have to say it does make a good Goliath gang in my opinion.

That is exactly what I did. I also have some original Goliaths I hope to have painted and put up soon.

I was thinking the same exact idea of how I was going to do a Goliath gang. Have to say it works well. And I look forward too seeing some original Goliaths painted up soon!

Everything is looking good. More guardsmen are always needed, gotta keep the front ranks replenished! The Wraith looks sweet, and those Goliaths are looking good too. Making me jealous with this "weekend of gaming" you guys have planned. My own Goliath gang wishes it had some paint

So I don't have a big update as I've been doing real life stuff (which is unfortunate, I know) but I wanted to get something up. I got another one of my Goliath's painted and I got a few of my original Goliaths glued to the base. Plan on getting the rest of them on there tonight. I like the way this guy came out, especially the gun.

And as a bonus, I took a picture of my hobby desk, in case anyone wanted to see what a mess I work in.

There is all sorts of random crap I need to work on. At least I won't get bored anytime soon.

Also 900th post!!!

Ganger looks good. You've got enough space carved out to have a wee workspace, that's good enough

Looks like a nice basement. Is that a game cube on the right ish? I only ever user one for smash brothers so my mental picture is kind of weak. I get a small office to myself and I've carved out some garrage space as well.

The Goliaths look cool. We have just started a Necromunda campaign at my games club where I have painted a Goliath gang. The conversions are really in character for the gang. Except I think you need more clubs, goliaths like clubs oh yes they do.

Grim, that is definitely a Gamecube. Besides modelling I'm big into retro videogames. I've been going back and playing alot of games I missed when I was younger for whatever reason (mosly because I couldn't afford them as a kid) and have been playing RE4 lately.

Tanakosyke, thanks. I thought I would go for a different look than most goliath gangs. Hopefully It will pay off in the end. I'm also going to try to make them all a little different, as I envision the denizens of the underhive don't have access to matching clothes.

Archer, just saw your Goliaths. I'm jealous. I will also be adding a club or two after seeing yours. Good call.

So Yesterday I spent with my gaming club doing our first escalation game, which we called patrol. I got two games in, one against Grey Knights where I got tabled, and one against Necrons where we both only had 4 models on the table at the end, but I lost due to victory points. Due to our restrictions on the 500 point games, I really couldn't bring any armor, so I expect I willl have a better showing next month in the 1,000 point games. At least I hope so. Here are a few pics of the Necron vs IG battle.

Thats all for now. I have to go down to Greensboro today, so I probably won't be getting any hobby stuff done today, but we'll see.

So one more small update before I'm done with hobbying for the day. Was out of town most of the day, but I got a little time and made a few more necromunda models for my upcoming mini campaign. I wanted to make sure we had plenty of hired guns if needed so I made a few. To the left and in the middle are my hive scum, armed differently for variety. To the right is another Goliath. Really need to get some more paint on the ones I have before I build anymore.

Finally, a few ratskin models I've had for awhile. I will also be finally getting some paint on the guys soon. Debating on whether or not to go with the GW scheme or try to come up with something unique. Any ideas?

Thats all for now. Hope to have some more IG escalation stuff up this week, as well as some more Necromunda. Thanks for looking, and as always, feel free to comment.

I have always thought about the idea of albino ratskins. I mean they are native to the underhive so have probably never seen the sun for generations. OR go the native American skin tones but with albino giant rat pelts?

I like the scum, they look like old hats but not too professional. No idea what you should do for your ratskin guys, seems like dark browns, leathers, maybe greens and such.

So I have been piddling around my hobby room this week between bout of real life productiveness. Been busy but have gotten a little progress done on my Goliaths so I thought I would share. The guy on the left is a ganger. I was going to make the guy on the right a juve, until I realized it would be foolish to give a plasma pistol to a juve. So ganger he is. Anyways, here are a few pics.

And a WIP shot of a few more members of the gang. Will get them done during this three day weekend.

So there they are so far. Hope to have lots more progress up this weekend. Will be working on my IG as well. Thanks for looking and feel free to comment.

Nice. The dude with shades is awesome, did you greenstuff those in? Kinda looks like the bandana free company head but with shades. Plasma pistol does seem wasted on bs2

No, the shades are from the catachan kit. I'm pretty bad with greenstuff, so I don't try things that detailed.

Love the kitbashing on the Goliath's Squall, the plasma pistol wielding ganger looks cool enough to be a leader to me. That is one sad loss of the more modern GW kits with them tending to have more mono pose bodies rather than separate legs and torsos. I loved to jumble up a load of pieces and see what you could come up with and did so with a massive Empire army I had a few years back. I know that in hard plastic you can always just saw the bodies in half but that can lead to some odd looking joins.

T.O.T- I love kitbashing and try to do so as much as I can. I'm not very good with green stuff, so I try to use parts that fit well and need minimal help. The new GW kits aren't as modular as the old ones, but you can usually still find some useful pieces.

So I've spent most of this week working on some Vampire Counts Skeletons and Empire Reiksguard knights. Not really stuff I want to put on here. I'm already all over the pace as it is. I had every intention of continuing that trend for a few more days but something awesome happened. I'm heading to my hometown this weekend for a friend's 30th birthday. I called my buddy who I was planning on doing the Necromunda campaign with in a few weeks to tell him I would be in town and he asked if I wanted to start the campaign early and get a few games in. Of course I jumped at the chance, so I've spent this evening working on my Goliaths. I have named them the Titans. They won't be 100% done, but they're good enough to start on such short notice.

In the middle is my leader. I have armed him with a grenade launcher with Krak grenades. Thats alot of eggs in one basket, but hopefully it will pay off. To the right is my newest juve, "Blue" and to the left is my newest ganger, "Stag". The leader is still WIP.

That chainsword is just a knife for now...

Now a group shot. My heavy has no paint, but at least he is the only one.

We plan on playing two games Saturday. He will be running either Delaques or Van Saar and when we continue the campaign during our games weekend, he will run whichever he doesn't use this weekend, and I will use my Orlocks. I will try to remember to take pics of the games and post them Sunday. Thanks for looking guys and as always, feel free to comment.
