@Grim- There will definitley be pictures up when I get back in town Sunday. I am also getting in my first game of 7th Sunday, so I will probably have a few pictures of that as well.

Tanakosyke- I have quite a few of the original ones that I bought recently, so those will be popping up more and more. Same thing with my Orlocks once I get to work on them. They will be half kit bashed and half original.

I'm very excited about 7th. My group has already agreed to stick to bound armies and not use the Demon summoning powers, which seem to be the main problem everyone on the interwebs have. I think the new missions and objective cards are great and I'm looking forward to the psychic phase (once again, now that we have decided against malefic powers). I will be sure to tell more once I have pics up and that 1st battle under my belt.

Thanks, Scrazza!

So, got started on my Necromunda campaign today. My Goliaths got two games in against my friend's Van Saars. I voluntarily bottled the first game but came back with a Vengeance the second game. My friend lost his leader and a juve outright due to some bad rolling on the injury chart. Such is the fickle fate of the dice and all that. We both had a good time and will be continuing in a few weeks. I took a few pics.

This is a bird's eye view of the 1st game after my 1st turn.

The Van Saar deployment.

My gang heading to the loot.

This is from the 2ng game. The ganger with the purple mohawk took out the other gang's leader and a ganger. He has leveled up well after just two games.

Finally, this is his leader about to blow my ganger away. Fortunately he only had a flesh wound and was just fine. The Van Saar leader was not so lucky later.

I had a blast playing, and doing all of the rolling and leveling up after the game is just as fun as the game itself. Anyways, thats all for now. I have my first game of 7th tomorrow. Hopefully that will be as much fun as Necromunda was.

Glad to hear you had a good time! Jealous, sounds like a fun game with all of the customization. Looking forward to hearing about future games and your thoughts on 7th ed too.

So my buddy cancelled on me so no 7th ed. game today. I guess I will have to wait till my group's next game session in two weeks. Oh well. Instead of being bummed, I just took my excitement from playing Necromunda yesterday, and turned that into motivation to work on some Orlocks, which will be the other gang I will be playing. These are pretty much just catachans. They worked pretty well strait out of the box, and I am a fan of simple sometimes. Anyways, here are some guys I had done already, I just had to finish their bases, which I did this evening.

I probably need to dirty up the guns some...

Next up are WIP shots of another Orlock and one of my Hive Scum models. I am trying to work on darker flesh shades with this model. We'll see how it turns out.

I will need to start painting my orlocks different in order to make them stand out from each other on the table...

And I will start doing that with these. My leader will be armed with a meltagun. I am very excited about that prospect.

Well thats all for now. Thanks for looking and as always, feel free to comment!

Meltagun sounds disastrous! For the other guys, of course. Unlike bolters from how I understand things. Sucks you missed out on your 7th ed 40k match, but at least you managed to keep calm and hobby on

Orlocks are looking good, keep doin what you're doin!

So not a whole lot of Necromunda progress done since Sunday, but I thought I would put up what I've done. Finished up my first scum and built some more original Orlocks.

So next up is a little something off topic. I've been wanting to play warhammer quest for awhile. Now, I'm simply not ever going to throw down the money to own the original, but I'm not above trying to make my own game out of figures I have and PDFs. Now, I'm not saying I'm going to do this, and if I do, I would start a new blog, but I had to do a little something to get it out of my system. I have enough projects as it is. That being said, I did a little digging and some kit bashing and came up with these. I feel like these are pretty recognizable as the original 4 heroes. Thoughts?

The Barbarian is my favorite of the 4 models. I used the cloak from the empire knights kit.

Just ignore the paint on the dwarf... Also, I made the elf female, as I feel like there should be at least one female hero.

What do you guys think of the models? Like I said, this is as far as I plan on taking this little urge for now. I may throw some paint on them but thats about it. But one day... one day...

The long ones worked very well, as the incline was gradual enough for the model to stand. The short ones didn't work as the models would slide right down. We're going to keep using the longer ones as they were helpful and added quite a bit to the game.

The scummer looks good. I'm really impressed by your quest figures, the poses are very dynamic--even iconic--and seem very suitable to their roles a and that style of game. Nice work

Hell, I like the look for your scummer and it is relatively well done! Makes the one I am working on pale in comparison.

Those original Orlock minis have really stood the test of time for me, that Meltagun leader is just totally badass. Rules wise do you prefer Necromunda or Deadzone? So long since I played Necromunda that I cannot really remember how well the game played.

@Theophony watch miniature market, they had the starter set for something like 60 bucks a week or three back as the daily. And I'm not exactly sure where Afton is, but I think you're pretty close to them. Of course I if you are, then you would already know that

I honestly like Necromunda better. Its not as balanced as Deadzone probably, but the board is bigger, you have more choices with how you kit out your gang, and the progression between games is much more in depth with Necromunda. It just has more to sink your teeth into. All that being said, I haven't gotten to play but a couple games of Deadzone, and I haven't tried the campaign yet. But I feel like my points still stand, just with my limited experience.

I would agree with Squalls assessment of the two games, I read the necro rules even if I never played it. The nexus psi campaign only adds scenario types to the game, no further customization. I think a couple of the missions let you spend points in barricades or similar, but its pretty simple.

This is certainly making me consider whether we could maybe try and combine the two games, say playing DZ models with Necromunda rules? If they are still free/accessible to download that is.

That said maybe greater customisation in DZ will come with subsequent expansions of the game?

Thanks for the battle report photos Squall, that terrain still looks so cool to me all these years later.

T.O.T. - I am actually gonna get to play another couple games of my campaign this weekend, this time with my Orlocks vs my friend's Delaques. I will be sure to post more pics.

Speaking of Orlocks, I got a couple more juves painted up. I like the guy on the right but the one on the left is just kind of ... well... boring. Oh well, he's just a juve. He'll probably do something dumb and end up on the wrong end of a Delaque shotgun. On to the pics!

I doubt I will get the whole gang painted before Saturday, but I'm going to at least get the other juve and Leader painted. The two heavies are probably just going to have to wait.

They look plenty serviceable. Dude on the right has a BIG knife. I mean its a sword but with knife shape. Looks stabby.

Juves? Those are not Juves! Juves are suppose to be younger and have the fear in their eyes when holding just a pistol!

Although, I really do like them. Including the rust effects on their swords.

they are less than two miles from my house . When I moved to Affton they moved about 15miles away , then they outgrew the space they had there, bought three more warehouses next to them, out grew those, and moved back even closer. I actually ordered the rulebook and nexus prime book yesterday (weds.) and will pick them up in the am. I have to get better at price shopping them since I'm local I have to pay the 8% local sales tax (state), where I could order from thewarstore and get it cheaper some times due to no taxes and minimal shipping.

Affton is part of St. Louis county, close enough to the city to g to all the museums, zoo, sports events and fin restaurants, but still far enough out to have space.

@ Grim, its technically a knife for now, but if he lives through the 1st game he will get a sword.

@Tanakosyke- I actually thought of that too. I have some of the metal ones that look younger, and they will get painted up in due time. Then these guys will probably become gangers with crappy equipment.

@Theophony, I wish I lived close to minitaure market! The only thing we have in my town is a Hobby Lobby.

@Angel of Vengeance- Thanks man! didn't know about those guys. I will show them to him this weekend.
