@Squall don't knock having a hobby lobby in your town, it's turning out to be quite nice for me Also the knife/sword makes sense, good practical modeling choice then!
Ill second the heresy gang dudes, if they're as well cast as my dr who figs, they're liable to be pretty spiffy. Just watch out, shipping to the states gets rough.

@Tanakosyke- I actually thought of that too. I have some of the metal ones that look younger, and they will get painted up in due time. Then these guys will probably become gangers with crappy equipment.
@Theophony, I wish I lived close to minitaure market! The only thing we have in my town is a Hobby Lobby.
@Angel of Vengeance- Thanks man! didn't know about those guys. I will show them to him this weekend.

Wow, I hadn't seen these guys before. They're a little pricey, but better than buying the original necromunda Delaques off eBay. I especially like the Plasma cannon and heavy Flamer guys. This may be something I look into picking up myself at some point.

So I got a few games of Necromunda in yesterday. Two to be exact. And they went horribly for me. The first game was ok, I lost when my gang failed a bottletest, but my one guy who was down fully recovered. The second game my friend picked the ambush scenario and it was brutal. I should have bottled before I did. but despite scoring 6 wounding shots, nothing happened to my opponents gang besides me capturing one of his juves. I had to roll on 5 guys though for the injury table. My two juves, of course, fully recovered. But my heavy bolter heavy died, my heavy with the stubber lost an eye, and my leader has a head wound. Its not good, but thats how it goes sometimes. I was able to afford a new heavy, but now my gang is broke. Should be interesting. Anyways, I took a couple of pics of the games. I am controlling the Orlocks, and my friend the Delaques.
The start of the 1st game
This picture is my leader, who has on carapace armor, fighting a heavy. He lost and thats how he sustained the head wound...
Thats it for now. I'm still out of town right now so probably won't be getting any hobby stuff done today, but I'll have more stuff up later in the week. Thanks for looking and as always, feel free to comment.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates. I've actually been doing hobby stuff, just haven't gotten around to updating. So lets do some catching up, shall we?
First off, I had a nice package come in. Inspired by Thraxis of Turai's and Grim's recent Deadzone buildings, I bought some more of my own. I intend to copy T.O.T's landing pad design. Hope he doesn't mind!!
I've been seeing some awesome Deadzone stuff floating around Dakka, and seeing how this blog started out with Deadzone, I was inspired to get a few more models done. Here are some of the enforcers I finished this past week.
Finally, I got m first games of 7th in this weekend. I played 5 games at 500 points. We were trying to get the new rules down with smaller games. We will be escalating to 1,000 points next month. Anyways, here is one of the pics from our games. These are my Ogryns destroying a razorback. They were counter charged by the grey knights the next turn and eventually died, though they took a few with them!
And that's kind of my week of hobbying in one quick post. Will have some more updates this week, definitely one of the Battle zone buildings I come up with. Until ext time, thanks for looking and feel free to comment!

We had a ton of fun with the new rules. Especially the new mission objectove cards. My Ogryns were actually very effective, taking out a Thunder wolf warlord, a runepriest with a 5 man squad, and a razorback all in one game. They performed better than I expected. I just liked the models!
Deadzone buildings will be up later this week. I'm excited to finally have some new sprues to play with, since I glued my previous ones. I will probably glue these as well.

So I haven't been able to update in awhile because after an 11 hour Necromund gaming marathon two weekends ago, my computer died while I was trying to upload photos onto it. I was not happy. I finally remembered to bring my work computer home so I could get the photos onto Dakka. And never fear, I haven't been idle for the past two weeks, so I have plenty of photos of other stuff I've bene working on.
But we're gonna start with a pure Necromunda post. These are the pictures of a weekend of gaming with my buddy Erik. He is my Necromunda opponent, and we areboth controlling two gangs each in our campaign. His Delaques are probably the best gang of the four so far, but his Van Saars have been doing the worst. My Goliath gang has done well and my Orlocks... well... all I can say is they're not in as bad of shape as his Van Saars. Anyways, here are some pics of the battles.
Deployment of our 1st game
Close up of Delaque deployment. Thats Erik in the background waving his arms around.
Sneaky Delaques and their Ratskin Merc
My newest juve. I'm not done painting him yet. He died twice over the weekend but I keep finding fresh juves at my settlements ( I have two) so he keeps coming back.
His Van Saars hired a scummer.
And thats all for now. I will post pictures of the Scavvy invasion later today! Then I have some other pics of the stuff I've been working on while I haven't been able to post. As always, thanks for looking and feel free to comment!

So after playing so much Necromunda, the next logical step to me seems to be Mordheim. Now, I don't have an opponent, but I've still been painting up some warbands. I've been working on a Mercenaries warband and a witch hunters warband as well. Let me know what you think. And any thoughts on Mordheim would be appreciated as well.
First up is my empire mercenaries. I think I will make them Reiklanders.
They are all just henchman. Haven't decided what I want to do with my heroes yet.
Next up is my witch hunters warband. The middle mini is obviously my warrior priest. The two others are Zealots.
Now a few of the whole warband. The metal mode will be my leader. I also need to find an appropriate war hound model somewhere.
And thats about all I've done painting wise for Mordheim. I also have a skaven and undead warbands, but no paint on them as of yet. Anyways, thanks for looking and feel free to comment!

I love the models, Mordheim is probably my second favorite GW game after Necromunda so love to see someone giving it some love.
I have an extensive Marienburg warband. The real crux of Mordheim has always been missile weapons are key, I have played in a few campaigns that limited the number of ranged weapon members because of this.
But enough about the rules and let me drool over your henchman some more. I love the Reiklanders and the paint job, really good.
The Bretonnian models fit really well with the Witch Hunter theme, they look a little "simple" and quite capable of being worked up by the Witch Hunters zeal.

So while I have been playing a lot of Necromunda lately, I have also still been working on my Guard army ( The Baal 111th) for the Escalation league my group is doing. We are having the 1,000 point round this Saturday, and while I won't have a totally painted army, I have been making progress. Got two of the three Bullgryns done. These guys performed very well at the 500 pt level. I hope they can keep it up at 1k. And what Guard army would be complete without an Aegis to bravely hide behind for the Emperor? Thats about it for now. Put some work on my Leman Russ last night and I have every intention of having that done in time for the games Saturday. I will post pics when I get it done / at least have some decent progress to show. Thanks for looking!

So I almost have my Leman Russ done. Just need to finish some work on the guns and the commander sticking out of the top. Anyways, this is my 1st attempt at weathering a tank heavily, and quite frankly, I'm not happy with it. I feel like I weathered it TOO much and it doesn't look natural. Anyone have any tips on how to make it look better. I don't hate it enough to simple green it, but its not the center piece I wanted it to be either.
Thoughts / suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

If you want easy and effective rust that pops, i can't recommend the new gw technical paints typhus corrosion and ryza rust enough. It's a little hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks fine from here, what aren't you liking?

I have my own rust paint I mixed myself and love. I used it on this, sparingly. What I don't like is the typhus corrosion I used... and its not that I don't like it, its that I don't like how its applied. I think it looks blotchy instead of spread realistically.

I think it looks good for a first attempt. My advice (and this is coming from someone that always goes over the top anyway) is if you want that "natural" look try to limit the weathering to where it is most likely to occur. Its unlikely a large flat panel will show weathering on a smooth flat face (like the top of the rear toolbox) but areas that have rivets, bolts, areas where water could pool is where you want to put your efforts. Plus it creates an even bigger contrast between the clean and dirty areas,
I know this isn't much help to do with this tank, but I think it looks great. How many of them are you planning to paint? Automatically Appended Next Post: Quick update, if you really don't like it turn it into a light camo effect over the painted areas?

It looks a little like camo as it is, kind of neat either way. I find i get the best results out of typhus corrosion if i apply 2-4 layers of it, gets a thicker texture built up and gives you more to drybrush.

I think that may be the issue, that I put too much on the flat surfaces. I will try just putting it around rivets and such next time.
The fact that it looks like camo is why I don't like it. I definitley wasn't going for camo. I have another Russ that I'm gonna make into a punisher, so I will get another try here shortly.
Thanks for the thoughts guys!

So my computer has been down and that is why I haven't been updating as much as I used to. I pretty much can only update when I bring home my laptop from work (which I did this weekend). My computer is in the process of being repaired and I should have it back in a week or two so I will be updating more frequently again. Anyways, just because I haven't updated doesn't mean I haven't been doing hobby stuff. I've actually played quite a bit lately; 40k, Necromunda, my first game of X-wing. Good times, all. As far as painting goes I have been getting ready for a small upcoming Mordheim campaign. Not sure what warband I'm going to use (leaning towards Empire mercs) so I have been working on a few different factions. Enough of me prattling on about though, here are some pics.
These three guys are Kislevite huntsmen. They will eventually become their own warband, but for now, may be used in my Empire Mercs warband.
These guys match the rest of my warband's color scheme better. The guy in the middle is done, the other two need some work on their faces and bases.
And finally, some WIP shots of minis to come!
And thats all for now! I will get some more pictures of other stuff I've been working on, as well as some of my games, later tonight. Thanks for looking, and as always, feel free to comment.

Looks like some pretty grizzled and gnarly empire folk, just how they should be. The kislevite huntsmen look great, very dramatic poses. The rest definitely have that somewhat unhinged look you get in a human warband, definitely not a trained army regiment, but a rag-tag bunch out to strike it rich or have a good brawl.
Keep up the good work!
