Hey guys, been a while since I put any photos up.

Here are som almost white shots of the AM's and TH. 1 more layer should hopefull do it befor i shade the panel lines.

I have also clipped and cleaned a Stormraven which I need for my 2000pt list so will hope to get that white over the next few days.

There is a certain satisfaction seeing that many AM's almost done for the monotonus part. The red black and gold detailing should be quite straight forward (I hope)

Put a photo of them pre primer that I forgot to load last week too.You cann see that I built half of them full and the other half I have made the decision to paint in bits and glue at the end.

Cheers guys. Yeah, bringing it up takes time but should be worth it.

Got to paint up the storm raven, 3 attack bikes 5 scouts and a rhino by have week Thursday, so may hold back on the TH detail for a week. Rhino, scouts and attack bikes are already almost up to white anyway so shouldn't be so bad.

Painting the storm raven before assembly so that the inside is detailed too...

I've not really looked at my SR, what is the interiour detail like?

There are 2 hatches that will let you see inside and all sorts of consoles etc in there. I'm also painting the hull in 2 sections as one will be mostly red to match the talons so makes life easier (I hope)

Yes m8 I keep a close eye on him, As Im foing Pre heresy nightlords, World eaters and Machanicum. So people like him And Templars Crusade are great insparation.

A nightlord's thunderhawk sounds awesome. I tried to find it, but only came up with the storm eagle? Could you possibly share a link?

Only slight warping on the fuselage and then the normal fixes you can expect. There were some quite deep mould scars tho but the have been filed and filled.

Everything is resin. I thought the guns would have been plastic but to my joy they are not. More to clean though unfortunately

I've never had a good record with resin, whether it be the FW stuff or Finecrap.
My Stormblade was completely warped and sank towards the centre.. It took me 3 hours. Oh well, can't be as bad as the Fire Raptor hehehe..

Quick question guys. I'm putting the majority of paint on the assault marines tonight and tomorrow and can't decide whether to paint the harness' red with gold aquillas or black with red. The chainswords are red and so are the helmets.

Help please guys...

What color do you normally do the chest aquillas? I’d keep that consistent throughout your army.

I'm with Nev on the consistancy.

Aren't there harnesses on the AM torso's? A black aquilla next to a black harness strap might not look great. (Assuming your painting the strap black)

It's the straps that I mean sorry. The rest of the units have gold aquillas and I was leaning more to this so sounds like a plan. Just though that red straps/harness' witness red swords and heads may be too much. May keep them black??

What color do you do the belts and belt buckles? It’s hard to tell looking at just bikes. I personally do them in black, with a silver drybrush. I use the same for the jetpack harnesses.

If you are doing helms and swords in red, I think it might be a little much to do the harnesses red as well.

They are black dry brushed grey on the bikes. Yeah, I'm gonna go black on the straps too. Thanks for the input guys.

Morning guys.....

Been a few days since I posted anything now and have'nt got masses to show you I'm afraid. Pics below are of the varnished white assault marines with basecoat blacks and reds. These will be assembled over the weekend and then washed/dirtied and highlighted. I have got all the shoulder pads to do too. The assembled ones still need the black detail doing as well.

The other bits you see are the stage 2 white (one more to go) pieces of the stormraven. I hope to get that sealed so I can spray the interior this weekend and get it assembled ready for next week. I have got to paint the scouts too as they are also in my 2k list for the league.

On top of my 1500pts I added a Stormraven with Hurricane Bolters and 7 Scouts with cammo cloaks and sniper rifles. Plus an attack bike squad of 3 with Multi Melta so need to do the black and red on them.

Going back to Throne of Skulls in May with potentially the same 1500 pt list but may tweak it here and there. Thought about dropping the 2 talons in favour of the stormraven????

Also I went up against Orks last night and made the school boy error of not knowing the codex. I officially hate Stormboyz now (they make me look slow) and the mob rule was something I just did'nt know.....
Prior to that I played an Eldar list that was very well written and included A Wraithseer, Wraithknight, 2 Wraithliords a unit of each wraith guard and blades. I simply went about it all wrong and couldn't deal with the amount of multiple wound MC's (bad playing on my behalf and well written by my opponent).
Well that is it till after the weekend guys, Thunderhawk is in progress but on hold for a bit until I finish these damn AM's..

C&C as welconme always

Assembled the other 14 marines (I seem to be missing a torso so will have to do 1 later) All still just at basecoat but thought I would put a pic up to re enforce to anyone who is trying to paint up a large amount of models that it is NOT a good idea to take on so many at once.

I really should have listened to earlier advice from the bikes and done these guys in batches of 5-10.

On the plus side they are nearly done and tbf 60 shoulder pads together looks quite cool.

Also did the blacks of the stormraven last night so that can get some interior detail done and hopefully be ready for Thursday.

The plan is to finish

30 Assault Marines
Stormraven plus base
10 Scouts
3 Attack bikes

All by Thursday if possible. All the above are at least white and just need detail and colour.....

It doesn't matter if its not done as it's not a tournament just the club but I have to have the SR built and Scouts built so at that point I can use them.

Doing 30 at once seems to move from “fun part of the hobby” to “work” but kudos for pulling it off.

Ain't done it yet mate, but you are right. It does become work. I think I hit the point where I wanted them done so hit them at once. I have a massive amount of Nurgle to build and paint that has lots of converting and captures my interest so much more but if I start then all this will just get left. I have to finish it for the cabinet or it is wasted money, plus it I keep telling myself it will look cook when complete......

Reckon if I didn't start this blog I would have given up though. There is a sense of commitment to you guys to keep going...
