Red-Marked sounds like an Aeonid Thiel novel set after Calth, and his return to Macragge after the attempt on Guilliman's life by the Alpha Legion.

**still figuring out the placement of threads on this forum so pardon if this is not the correct space, for I suck **
This one sounds like a good deal if you spend a boatload on BL. Just wish I had the cash upfront. Besides, I do like the feel of a printed book
http://www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-40000/40k-feat/bl-2016-digital-complete.html
Every Black Library digital release in 2016, in one handy purchase.

Eh. It doesn't cost them anything if people don't buy it, and it's a bonus if they do. I don't think it's a sign of desperation, more 'why the hell not try it?' Like when they did that massive Space Marine bundle (company? Chapter?) it's no skin of their nose if no one goes for it as its stuff they make anyway.

BL continues to try new approaches on releases and, as said above, this doesn't risk much I know I spend waaaaaay over $1,000 on BL every year but can't do this right now. Maybe later, and I'm glad this will be valid throughout the year. I don't see BL in any dire straights but that's not worth debating as I can't speak for the behind-the-scenes. Enlarging the author pool and beyond just two authors reducing their current BL work load, is a good sign, IMO. Good thing a lot of what we see now was written a couple years ago. We did find out last month at Convention Secundus that because of BaC they held a lot of HH releases which we've already seen coming this past week. And more audio they can make inhouse now with the studio onsite.

Black Library's zany schemes are getting more and more frequent. It does have a certain whiff of desperation. I wonder what's going on behind the scenes.
Oh and I think people should feel free to share their opinions about BL whether positive or negative, and regardless of whether they still read BL books.

I've started my current collection of BL books by buying all books about IG, SM and Chaos I could get my hands on when BL announced the HH series and after that not only I've stopped buying anything in the chosen range before but I also had to sell all IG and SM books. It's too bad on the aftermarket they are worth literally just a couple of dollars but I didn't have enough shelf space and I thought I could keep up. Then BL stopped selling paperback format and then it switched to digital ruining my hopes of having a full uniform collection. That's not even counting books that were published in the "limited edition" format for which I paid extra because I really thought I am getting something that no one will be able to buy again just to see those book re-released a year after .
So kindly shut the hell up and don't tell me what I should do/don't do when it comes to BL.
On side note, BL is re-releasing 4OK supplements, that were "limited edition" before in the digital format now: http://www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-40000/digital-exclusives

I still enjoy reading their books; I've been enjoying them since before the days the Black Library existed as a brand. What I don't enjoy are all the limited editions, screwing around with sizes and formats of books, eBooks, audio books, etc., etc. All I want is normal size paperbacks that fit in with the rest of my collection, Mass Market Paper Backs, the only format you could buy them in for 15-odd years.

I would buy much more often if they'd just make their damn books available on the Amazon Kindle store. My last Horus Heresy books (and 40K books in general) were Deliverance Lost, First Heretic and Damnation of Pythos. Thats 3 Black Library books in the last 3 years or so. But I splurge on my Kindle regularly, I have hundreds of books that I'm probably never going to get round to reading. I'm very much an impulse buyer, but only when the format is convenient for me.
Big feth-off limited edition hardback books and ePub PDF's are not convenient.

So this Flesh Tearers codex supplement is just the formations and warlord traits, etc. from the Shield of Baal books, correct?
And I'm with everyone else, when BL actually gets back to putting out MMPB books regularly, I'll go back to reading. I can't keep track of it all, and refuse to buy every little short story and audio book. I like dead trees in my hands.

This!
I'm not "stalking" anybody, nor presuming to tell anybody else what they should "should or shouldn't do." This is the internet, right? I'm expressing my opinion. In part, I suppose, in the hopes that someone within BL might check in here from time to time to browse readers' opinions.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan. I miss the 40k novels, print form, regular runs, via retail channels. (I'm old school, I guess.) Black Library used to do this stuff so well. I wish they still did. I hope they do again.

I don't think it's a formal 'I will never work for BL again',
more that he's doing more and more other stuff including full sized novels of his own, so it is less likely he'll have to time to commit to more novels (or series) for BL (so if BL need a book to a particular time frame they're probably going to give to somebody else)

Dan is still writing. He has the luxury, I'd say, Of being able to move between projects and write whatever he wants. He's mentioned that in interviews. With comics and Guardians of G I totally understand why he is busy. I Am Slaughter was written almost 3 years ago so lots of planning but the time written and release date don't actually line up always, sadly. I suspect he will close the The Beast Arises series or, at the very least, more if not the conclusion of the Heresy. But we are having new authors putting out more work and I don't expect everyone to like every bit. For as much of a fanboy of BL I am there have definitely been some lackluster titles that frankly I'm surprised to see and they did not keep my interest. It's a big IP

I am enjoying, for the most part, the main novels of the HH series. A tad fed up with Ltd novellas, Warhammer or BL event only releases and the multitude of short stories.
I got into reading the BL novels because of the Sabbath Worlds. Love the Tanith First series, and some of the anthologies that go with the campaign. Also a huge fan of Ravenor and Eisenhorn.
I hope to see, asap, some love for these collections.

Releasing the ebook version of the limited edition hardback pamphlet they call a novella was a step in the right direction for me. I can buy, download and then email the book straight to my Kindle so its a lot less painful than having to wait months to get a version that isn't massively over priced. I still think ebooks (not just BL) are over priced but when ebooks from regular publishers are as expensive and I still buy them then I can't really complain about BL ebook prices, at least they aren't anywhere near as over priced as the limited edition hardback.
I'm a bit annoyed that the limited editions contain tasty titbits, Pharos for example:
meaning if you want to understand everything you have to buy everything as those facts are never mentioned again.
BL have seemingly confused the fans wanting books set in HH with fans wanting THE HH story.

Haha Pamphlet they do feel much less special to me when the rarity goes down, say, like 4-5 released a year. I'm so yearn for the small mass market paperbacks to be available at or just after release but I don't see that happening.

I am Slaughter by Mr Abnett has only just come out, so rest assured he is still writing for them.
Pharos will be getting a physical release -- one would imagine first hardback copies will be on sale at the HH weekender/similar first of all.
Then x months later the trade format release will happen, and then x months after that the legacy release will sneak out , as if it's doing the walk of shame after a big night out.

Ravenlord -- formally a special edition/limited edition etc etc -- is now available, digital, MP3 and physical release.
