Oh well, at least I've tried. See all that comments above? I guess you are the only one who is immensely happy with BL and it's marketing strategies.
Feel free to pay all that money and not have your review published. After all BL can't do wrong, right?

Both the Arjac and Ragnar books which were previously special/limited editions are now on the website as e-books.

If you were to read most of those comments, most of the posters have stopped buying Black Library books. They are still talking about it because they want to buy BL books but BL is still making the same mistakes.

Right. Fretting about the long, suffering demise of something we have an emotional attachment to is for losers.

Yes, it is. Self harm is pretty clearly defined.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

I think that coincided with the switch from MMPB issues to the whole hardback/trade paperback/MMPB nonsense.

"Bloody typical, they've gone back to metric without telling us."

"As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh haven't you?"

I just want to point out that, while Pharos's artwork is nice, they screwed up and put Polux's power fist in his right arm, not his left.

I like the idea of a subscription service but not when it comes across as bad value, you just know that the same books will be released as a cheaper bundle end of next year. I also do not like being forced into buying the entire set up front without knowing who is writing them or which bits of the story they will cover due to the highly variable nature of the series in recent times.

Still, I enjoyed Beast, quite surprised how they managed to make it feel different from 40k and 30k, even if the Fists are given stupid nick names, have they always had them?

I think they have noticed. And the response seems to be "move special editions, more exclusives, more short stories, more [crap that made people stop reading]! Whatever it takes to get that money!" When Dan Abnett jumped ship, that was the sign of things to come. I haven't brought a book since they pushed up paperbacks as the new format (as opposed to the MM paperback which is the backbone of the industry). I'm sure some people collect the books, but they seem to have forgotten that some people just want to READ a GOOD story. Not become bibliophiles.

I guess it's a good saving but one can't help but feel that is entirely only if one doesn't own (m)any of the chosen titles you're sent.

Personally, I don't know if there are BL fanboys more enthralled than I (I suppose they are the ones jumping on this ) I'm not sure of what, the length, and quality, and topic of what works will come with this so I'm hoping they elaborate more.

Hell, I hadn't even considered (duh! me) that it may be content I already have. And I have A LOT of BL stuff. Scary.

Sounds about right - only GW/BL's version is made up of stuff that's already out there and you might already own?

But given how far BL's fallen, maybe not?

BL replied to this question on Facebook that some will be new content and some existing.

I can't see many people wanting to put down for a bundle likely to contain stuff they already have, and BL's biggest customers who are the group most likely to want such a bundle are going to already have a lot of BL stuff. Just seems to be a weird random offer that wasn't thought through, at least the £75 deal was 100% new content.

Great. Another limited edition offering from Black Library. My excitement is... nil and null.

When Black Library gets back in the business of publishing novels on a regular basis and getting them stocked in bookstores, I'll be back.

Not before.

There are scans of some pages of the BL calendar with the new upcoming HH books:

"The Path of Heaven". Looks like Khan and WS against Slaanesh daemons.
"Grey Talon". SoC and a renegade WS.
"War Without End". Looks like short stories about UM, IF, DA, SW, WS, BA and Salamanders.
"Red-Marked". Looks like Ultras against combined DG, WB and NL.

I'm dead excited about this release, ordered it up straight off. Garro has been a long term fascination since his first appearance. I'm really happy to see him back in print. I enjoyed the couple of Garro audios I have but prints my thing..... also like the special eds they are lovely books.
