Did Fulgrim Just Behead Ferrus?

I tend to prefer the less dynamic character models. I don't necessarily want them standing stiffly at attention, but I do like when they're not the usual jumping, screaming, and pointing. That's one reason why I vastly prefer the alternative version of Fulgrim. Too bad FW won't release it.

That Horus model is brilliant.

Still not as cool as Lorgar which is my favorite sculpt so far, but by like a hair is all.

I don't think Horus goes in that direction he doesn't mutate in the old Horus V the big E drawing he looks almost the same as this just angry

I presume that a more animated Horus will show up for the inevitable (and no-doubt monstrously priced) Big H vs Big E set that they'll put out when FF is done with the HH series.

Of course, we'll all need to figure out a way to put ourselves into cryo-sleep so that we can wake up in late 2286 when that model gets released.

Entry to a venue that is normally free to enter, the chance to buy limited edition models and novellas, the chance to chat to the authors and design guys. As far as I can tell that's it.

The Weekender isn't at the HQ, it's at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel. You get a goody bag included in the ticket price, but not much else.

My bad

(I spend £000s on wargaming every year but seeing £70 for a ticket has always been too much for me to even bother reading the details - I do wonder how much space they get though, surely they'd be better charging £70 for entrance to WHW but letting you use that as store credit, in effect forcing customers to buy some of those high margin models instead of giving the money to a local hotel )

The official line is "a goody-bag upon entry, including a programme with exclusive gaming content, stories and Horus Heresy rules" which normally means some dice, a novella and rules for whatever they're pre-releasing.
Plus the bag:

Last year: lunch on both days, and a choice of seminars, tutorials, gaming (laid on boards), pre-release WIPs display (with designer/sculptor next to it to talk to), display models, big display boards, evening entertainment, authors/artists to bother, loads of like minded people to geek out with. Goody bag with a few bits and bobs (dice, rules, programme, and as mentioned the cheapish bag).

For me it was well worth it, and I just spent two days listening to the seminars like a big geeky git. So worth it I already have my ticket to this years.

Well when you have a gaming budget of £0 I can see why

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Actually lunch was not much cop, but for £70 for 2 full days of entertainment and general geekery it was worth it for me. Compare it to a meal out with the Mrs. which can easily come to £50 with booze and desserts and it starts to become more sensible.

It may not be worth £70 / $116.15 to everybody, but well, you don't have to come.

(This does of course not include the £££ on fuel, accommodation, food, booze and lovely new toys, but screw rationalising it!)

I would to. To not do a diorama for E vs H would be a sin. Or, hyperbole aside, a missed opportunity!

It's amazing sculpt, it captures the nobility, charisma and power of Horus far more effectively any of the books. Simply superb.

Except he isn't screaming, so he's already different from almost "any old Marine Sergeant,"

Anyway, whoever is going to the HH Weekender, please, for the love of the Emprah, BEG Simon Egan and FW to release the alternative Fulgrim sculpt.

Do we know who sculpted Horus? That looks more like a Skomorowski sculpt than an Egan sculpt but those guys are so damn talented, it wouldn't surprise me either way.

Horus was definitely sculpted by Egan, we were told about it at " games" day uk. For all you begging for alternate fulgrim, almost definitely not gonna happen I'm afraid, Egan was not even allowed to carry it to GDUK with him, he did say however that apart from the pole on the banner it is just the existing fulgrim cut apart, repositioned and filled/ finished with green stuff. I myself am surprised that there is no skilled individual out there who has already done this (or for that matter anyone who has done this, worked out how to do it quickly and is bulk ordering the original and changing them then charging double on eBay.... *looks at fulgrim model and saw on desk wistfully*)
