I love the look of the Gal Vorbak.
The current possessed marines are crap and they are still that outdated look that plague the CSM line. I'm hoping these turn out much more like the new raptors and chosen.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I promised myself I wouldn't get excited about the Horus Heresy until we saw the models for the Imperial Army...

And well I'll be damned if those Solar Auxilia aren't awesome.

the Mothership...

I do rather like the Gal Vorbak and I might eventually pick up a set since they're apparently on 40mm bases. They'll make good foes for my truescale deathwatch marine squad! The primarchs for me seem to follow a rotating choice of home run (Horus), miss (Mortarion), and just plain ok (Vulkan).

Plenty of fluff on the Gal Vorbak. May I direct you to The First Heretic and Betrayer, by Aaron Dembski-Bowden (two of the better HH books). I have to admit, the models look great with the close ups today. Really cool designs.

The Solar Auxilia are new, but the Gal Vorbak aren't.

Read "The First Heretic". They are the 'first' Possessed.

Visually, the solar auxilla look like the new stormtroopers (or whatever faux latin they're now called). Maybe the HH era Imperial Army trooper gets better stuff on average just like Marines?

Gal Vorbak have rules in one of the three HH books, or in the Legion book that FW just put out if you don't want to buy the bigger more expensive books.

Have to admit I'm disappointed that some armies are getting a second nod before other armies get their first.

Even more so when some of those Legions are supposedly "slam dunk easy" working with current kits.

With 12 Legions having (early Crusade) rulesets, that leaves 6 yet to get any HH attention. Of those six, four are prominent 40K armies (Ultramarines, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, and Space Wolves). The other two are the White Scars and the Thousand Sons. And of the 12 Legions with rulesets, some haven't seen their first models yet.

I don't mind a "catch up" year, letting the Raven Guard, Iron Warriors, Imperial Fists, Alpha Legion catch up, along with some kits for the other armies that are still waiting. Getting some good stuff for the Imperial Crusade Army and Knights will be soften the blow.

And I'm a Space Wolves guy. I was all excited that we were going to be in Book 4...the next book. Then we were told that it would be Book 5. And now...indeterminate. But that is OK. Business-wise, it makes sense to lead with great models for less popular Legions. Makes people like me cave and buy stuff for other Legions while I wait for "my" army to get stuff. Do I like waiting? Nope. Is the stuff coming out now great? Yeah, it really is.

So I'll wait. And hope a car doesn't run me over before Prospero and Russ get released.

Best pic I've seen of Vulkan doing the rounds, other than slightly awkwardly posed left hand, looks great!

Yes, as well as being a closed fist. Would be cool if there was an optional bit to represent a burst of flames coming out.

It doesn't have to be wrong to look wrong, and while I'd agree that yes, given the whole 'narrative' of the pose, it makes sense, it still looks awkward to my eye.

I think it contributes to the flow of the model. The splayed fingers, the angle. I like it, and think it works with the angle of the head, the hammer, the legs. Just my take.

Edit: I've enjoyed each of the Primarch models, but Vulkan is the first one I feel like I have to buy. Just very well done.

That pic of vulkan does indeed look better but the hand angle is off for me as well but that is likely a quick fix and easy to do with resin depending on the parts break down.
