From the ground level, it is evident that many levels of metal-grille flooring extend above and below, with the mid-sections of the interior devoted to vats of cooled molten metal, and the ceased machinery that would work it. Such a plant would have processed raw materials - extracting metal from ore, combining them into alloys, testing fresh batches for the correct tensile strength and other properties. This goes on in an industrial scale, as the complex stretches at least a mile from this entrance.*

*The complex, Hrorki remembers from his psycho-indoctrination, will be connected via tunnels and conveyor systems to other complexes which turn these materials into products of war, combining them with complex artisanship, mettalurgy and engineering.*

*Irilis looks around the grime and ash covered surfaces, slick with the oil of an army of now-dead servitors, and wonders how humanity ever managed to get off-world.*

*Hrorki looks around at the abandoned complex and sighs internally*
How did all of this happen? An entire hive city, dead and reduced to some sort of goo? I know of nothing in this universe that is capable of such a thing. I have seen a world reduced to an airless rock by the Tyrannids, but never have I seen a populace rendered into so much paste with no signs of damage to the structure of the hive.

Follow me, there should be some tunnels up ahead that'll lead us to where the final products of this factory are assembled. We should find something there.

*Hrorki and Irillis can notice some faint violet flickers in the corners of their vision, as faces occasionally ooze out of the walls, and fade back in*

Maybe not so innocent as they claim....

They still register little in the warp. They are not one, these shapes, I can feel them communicating. But it is a single overarching mind...

*As they walk further into the complex, its nature as part of a larger manufactorum steadily reveals itself. Various wings and facilities branch off from the main passages, and trapdoors lead into underground sections. Large metal staircases jut out from the platforms above, in mathematically designated positions meant to ease the logistics of the operations, and not human access. The deeper they go, the more uncanny this environment becomes. Dead servitors litter the place, as though they had not taken notice of their assailants, blood, oil and servos littering defunct mechanisms.*

OOC: The plot thickens... I have no idea where this is going, but I'm impressed a Dakka thread is actually working as intended.

*Iris yawns, stretches and wakes up, then smiles at Hanna*
