Based on the army, fluff, or anything...maybe it's even a local player...what army do you love fighting no matter what.

Maybe you love stomping on a certain race's face...maybe you even enjoy getting ripped to shreds by a specific enemy.

No matter the reason, given the choice...who do you want to play against?

Well, as BT player i really like playing vs CSM, nothing better than emperor's champion instagibbin' Typhus... Although i have a small khorne berzerkers army, it might actually become SM... Although TBH i enjoy playing with every army except for eldar (2x3 warwalkers, wraightknight, WS spam...)I don't claim to be a pro player, but whenever i go up against them i get my butt handed to me, but i already got some useful info from you guys at another thread,(THANKS) so gotta buy those drops/obliterators and havocs...

This is a really great question. I think I need to play more armies before I answer this. But I'll tell you who I don't like playing, necrons. AV13 all over the place and units getting back up. geeze!

I like to fight Mike Tyson. You never know what side of him you see. First the maniac boxer, pretty sure he hits like a Mack truck. Second the nibbler, he will chew your face off like he has been sniffing bath salts. Third is the crooner, if you have watched the Hangover II then you know his singing side will make you rupture your own eardrums so that you can escape the awfulness that is his voice.

As far as 40k goes ... I like to take a 3,000 point BA list against a 1,500 point Necron list ... hell with the undead, and I might actually have a chance as long as he has no fliers.

Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)

Orks, they are just fun. As are the guys that run them. I love my boyz, and every time I play against them, it just turns into a slug fest, we ignore the objectives and just smash things for fun. Damn, the Boyz are fun.

I like fighting most armies except for Tau. Not because they are cheesy but I feel no urgency like I do with other armies. With Eldar I feel that I am racing against the clock to kill them before they can close the gap with me.

Wow, everyone likes fighting the orks. I voted for them too.
There's just something about having a horde of angry green people charging across the board that makes things feel more epic. It also forces a lot of reactionary play and nothing the army brings feels broken.

maybe thats why I couldnt choose, because I play orks. I get people that tell me they love playing orks before we start a game though. So apparently they are the favored enemy of every army!

I think they are fun for a number of reasons.
1. There are alot of orks on the table, so you feel like you are always killing something
2. They have a lot of random stuff that is actually quite hilarious
3. Fluff wise, they will fight anyone. So if you are big in to your armies fluff, no matter who you are, you can see yourself fighting orks.
4. Orks, at least in this edition, are not played by WAAC players. So you tend not to see super cheesey builds. Also because Orks dont really have any super cheesey builds.

I like playing against Tau.I'm a Tau player and it's interesting to see other players think through problems using the Tau army. I get a lot out of seeing thaton the receiving end because it forces me to react and how I react informs me on later games against the army im playing. for example, I'll play my Chaos melee list and watch what a Tau player does about it, and watch even more carefully what that forces Me to do. The decisions Im force to make are sometimes really good to know when I play AGAINST Chaos later.

There are a few, for different reasons.

Sisters, because they are very rare usually, but a semi-regular opponent at one of the clubs I attend uses them. Always a fun matchup, they are a pretty solid army (not played the new dex yet though).

IG, because hordes of guardsmen vs hordes of guardsmen is awesome. How can you not like a 1200 game where there are close to 200 models on the board?

Nids, because they are the only army I've lost more than I've won to. I still haven't worked out exactly how to deal with them, so it's fun working on new strategies to take to the bugs. Unfortunately, we haven't had a nid player round here for quite a while. I can't wait to eventually get a game against the new dex.

Also, anything new or unusual. A rare army or unit, a Forge World thing or just something I haven't seen before is always fun.

I mainly play Dark Eldar.

I like playing against Orks because their numbers make the game feel epic. I'm trying to mow down as many as I can before being overwhelmed... it feels like it should.

It's similar with Nids, but Dark Eldar own their big beasts so bad that I almost feel bad.

I like playing against Eldar too, if I go first..

Playing: Droids (Legion), Starks (ASOIAF), BB2
Working on: Starks (ASOIAF), Twilight Kin (KoW). Droids (Legion)

I'm the only one in my group that owns Orks but everyone has used that at some point or another and they're always the best games. They're usually very light hearted and no one gives a crap what the result is.

What? MEQ are what we're most effective against because of helturkies. And there's nothing quite like stomping the face of loyalist space monks who take themselves too seriously.

Imperial guard are fun to crush too. When it actually happens. Which is rare for my assault army.

Right. My grandmother doesn't, that's who!

Haha, I know you do(from your advice and stuff, there's no stalkerish behaviour here, I promise), I thought you indulged in a bit of self-satire there.

EDIT: Forgot to answer the OP, lol. Apologies.

Favourite army to fight is definitely Tyranids for me. Their carapace just does this wonderful fleshy sound when my shurikens pierce it. And I like being on the opposite of primordial force of nature that just wants to eat you and throw you up so it can make babies.

I like Imperial guard.
They have squishy troops.
They have big chewy tanks!
I am a space marine player (BT) and rushing into HTH with troops or tanks is funny to no end.
The big gun shooting is just pleasant enough to get me out of my comfort zone and charge!

I must admit Orks are great until you stare at 3 30man blobs and Lootas and TL ML Coptas. Then it is just plain ugly.

I like playing against Eldar, Orks, any kinds of dudes in power armor. Tau can be frustrating as they just shuffle and blast. I like seeing things move and have a dynamic game.

One of my most enjoyable games of late was me playing 'Nidzilla vs a Draigowing list. All my troops were warriors and he had literally nothing but paladins so we had a table top of nothing but multi wound baddies. It was pretty hilarious.

I bet most people here answered Orks because they tend to think this army makes the ideal cannon fodder for their own army's various weapons
