Oh my sweet hell, that Mega Kill Drone <3 Classic McGibs lateral thinking

Dig the PBC rebuild, but I also like the standard one too, cartoonily huge monster barrel and all. Big infantry blightspawn are groovy as well.

Painting a squad of ten marines takes so much longer than painting big vehicles! These guys took forever!
The 80's glamrock-weaponized-guitars don't really fit with my Blood Renegades aesthetic, so I made up these Noise Marines to be more... rifle marines? They got snazzguns that shoot a lot. Also they're keeping topknots in style.
Given the newer proportions of the Rubric and Plague Marines, I needed to make these guys fit in with that range. The legs are from the Blood Warrior kit, and have much better posture and size. The assault rifles are standard bolters with Admech Infiltrator gunbarrels added for length. The "mini battle cannons" (aka Blastmasters) are Calth missile launchers with ork supashoota barrels.

Better look at the shoulder cannons, which I think turned out pretty good.

Turnaround gif doesnt have nearly enough frames to track clearly, but I'll add it anyways.

I feel like I gushed enough about the design choice when you posted the first dude(s), but I continue to be a big fan of repping noise marines as teched up professionals in fancier armor. Squad looks grand, smart use of AOS bits to address marine leg issues, and gotta love the big guns

You'll be happy to hear that my Noisymarines debut game had them die in turn 1, as is traditional for freshly painted models. Thankfully they managed to kill a skittarii squad and a destoryer servitor with their death throes.

Can't... stop... making evil robots...

Amazing the both of them. The Deredo arachnid has a very coherent look, like a crawling turret.

New eevil robots look banging as ever. Dakka spider is indeed deliciously cohesive, and the helbrute with bonking stick looks quite solid as well. Still trying to figure out where his pointy dread toes came from ... EDIT: Space pup dread apparently? Unexpected!

I had some giftcard scraps laying around, so I picked up the No Know Fear starterbox to dink around with some of the Primaris models (and cannibalize the deathguard bits).
Thinking of some Primaris "Deathwatch" to go with my retro Admech.
An Explorator fleet, traveling to strange new worlds and researching (ie: killing) the aliens there. At their onset, they were escorted by a detachment of Primaris marines, but after several long centuries of isolation, the marine's geneseed and production methods have been uh... commandeered by the fleet's eccentric Techprist Dominus.
If Guilliman asks, they're totally not servitors, you guys.

Finished my first test model for my Explorator Fleet Primaris Marine for my all Primaris Deathwatch army. This is my first time using microsol/set for the decals, and an oil wash! I think it turned out pretty good!

Brilliant. I don't know if you set the bead (?) dome lower on this dude or it's the magic of paint, but the bubble head looks good. I'm assuming these lads will look pretty mass-produced, no individual DW markings and all that? Totally dig it, vat-grown xenos killing machines ftw.

Thanks! The helmet and collar is from Bombshell minis (unlike the glass bead from the skittarii)
http://store.bombshellminis.com/36021-helmet-set-r10/

I've been wanting to do a more unified military force for a while now, as something different to my ragtag and individualistic chaos. Something with nice standardized unit markings and stuff.
Here's my rough thoughts behind these guys:

-Long range AdMech Exploratory Fleet is gifted with a Deathwatch detachment to aid them in "discovering" new alien worlds.

-After a few long decades in deep space, who's really gunna notice if the Explorator Dominus mindwipes all the marines to make them forget all that useless "Space Monk" baggage.

-Also maybe we make our own Primaris marines? We've got all this diverse geneseed right here, and it's not like we're going to get reinforced way out on the fringes... Besides, no one's watching.

-Where we're going, all you need is SCIENCE!

Oh my! That is a sweet little piece of kit. Slots into the primaris armor real nice.

Knocked together my first of two Razorback conversions for my spaceman Primaris Deathwatch. The usual boxy marine vehicles don't really gel with the theme, but the GSC Goliath is suitably rounded and utilitarian looking. I frankenstiened some Taurox treads on it to go for a mars-rover sorta thing.

I'm onboard. Definitely looks like a Primaris and a wiggly armed giant pulp robot had a baby, then somebody gave it a really legit lascannon pistol

Still mulling over that Goliath conversion. It's a sweet vehicle, just wondering to myself what a pulpier spaceman vehicle would look like. After modernization, probably what you've got

I bashed together these guys together back when Shadow War came out, but unfortunately that sort of died on the vine. Killteam looks much more promising, so it was a good excuse to get these guys finished!
They're a mix of Kromlech trench orks, regular ork bits, and a lot of greenstuff (the kromlech bits are nice, but man they don't fit together very well...)
I just have the first Kommando finished, but I'm pretty happy with how he turned out!

And here's the rest of the team on the bench (and one basecoated). I wanted to go for a fun "saturday cartoon nazis" colour scheme, like something you'd see in G.I. Joe, Bionic Commando, or Metal Slug, rather than the more "historically accurate" schemes I usually see these guys in.

And a few grots (one of which will be the secret cowardly leader!)

Hey guys! Got a bit of a backlog dump here, some new stuff, some repaints/reshoots.

I've been playing some more shooty lists, and needed a cheap foot lord to command backfield units. This beefcake was chopped together form various AoS and 40k chaos characters.

Chaos lord also needed a weedy wizard lacky to throw buffs around. The cool skull helmet was carved off the DV CSM champion, and was sitting in my bitsbox for years, but was always too small for actual marines.

Speaking of DV marines, I converted a bunch of the oddball champions into bolter boys a long time ago. Here's some repaints of a couple of them.

Heres a trio of hig honkin gatling guns that are quad-heavybolter Rapier battery. The treads are from some Manic kits I think. My bolter marines usually end up crewing the things.

Repaints of my skittery Bloodslaughterer duo. Legs are from some russian mech miniatures.

Repaint and rearm of my Cycloptic hellbrute.

Repaint of my favorite Defiler stalktalk.

Repaint of my Laser Vindicator.

Yesssss, so cool to see more of your stuff brought up into the Yellow Khorne scheme I didn't remember all that purple on the fleshy bits but I suppose it's been a hot minute since the last time I saw much flesh - ogryns oblits? I want to say,

Anyway, awesome update McG, thanks for sharing. Will probably kick this thread / your site around FB and so on again, really is some of my favorite CSM work.

The yellow on these is fantastic. Has the formula for achieving the effect been shared? I couldn't find it in the thread here.

Thanks guys!
The purply skinbits are something that's been sneaking into the scheme just to add another non-red, and to give a nod to some to the more Slaaneshi influences.

The recipe for my school-bus yellow is:
1: Basecoat with Jokero Orange
2: Wash with Reikland Fleshshade (for some nice reddish shadows)
3: Highlight back up with mix of Jokero Orange and P3 JackBone
4: Add runes and weathering with Rhinox Hide
5: Edge highlight with JackBone
6: Wash with Casandora Yellow
7: *Chefkiss

Awesome, thanks for sharing the secret. It's pretty "amazing" that such a great way to paint yellow basically has almost no yellow in it! Not really, since most yellow paint just flatly sucks.
