In our current storyline what race would you be and why?

Caucasian. No particular reason, it is just I am Caucasian now and I do not see any reason to change. That, and almost every artwork depicts only Caucasian humans, so I guess I will have an easier time fitting in.
Or maybe you meant faction, or species, or anything else than race ?
I do not get why we still talk about races in fantasy and syfy when it has obviously nothing to do with race…

I am pretty sure the Ecclesiarchy teach that at the very least the greatest heroes get to join the right side of the Emperor or something.
I will check for it later.

Good side is I get people waiting on my needs hand and foot, people killing themselves just to stay in my good graces, or killing others to stay in my good graces. I am a Psyker stronger than any other human and can kill with a thought.

Bad side ... I am on a crap life support system because I was an IDIOT and thought my "SON" would not betray me. Yeah, sure my life support system is blinged out but really it is only one step better than a porcelain throne.

Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)

TBH slaanesh is probably the easiest one for most people to get into, nurgle too pus-y for me, khorne too scary for me, tzeentch too schemey for me

Although I think sex drugs and rock n roll are just the entry requirements, it probably gets more depraved from there

Now to look up Airbourne!

You know the Emperor has been in constant almost unbearable agony for the last 10,000 years right? And on top of that, he has to remain in focus while harnessing his psychic powers for daily chores to keep the Imperium running, one small flaw can lead to millions of deaths or worse.

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.

Destroy to create. Wreak havoc upon the infrastructure and bring life anew. Break through all barriers to realize there were no barriers. Realize there were only treacherous games. Learn the entirety of the game. Find the game makers; find the dick traitors/dictators.
Explode unto thy betrayers - ruin all their materials, dethrone and desecrate their persona, crush and manipulate their force, squeeze and torture their ideals to redirect their goals so as to dominate their souls, extract and perfect their fear so as to mitigate their strength and amplify their weakness.
Cut out the sickness, then imprison the wardens. Sing the song blood red and true. Create their destruction.
All for the hunt to dominate.

No, Daemon Princes are their own unique organism as being a symbiotic collective of a Daemon and a mortal soul bound together. I was exploiting a loophole in the OP by Daemon Princes qualifying as their own unique race/species.

I guess someone said something that was a good illustration of why it is not a good idea to use race out of context .

Because they were made by the Emperor, isn't it obvious .

My first thought was Tau since you'd probably have a nice quiet life of obeying the rules and after you die your soul is too faint to attract any attention.

That said, I'm not actually so familiar with the new necron fluff. How much individuality does the basic Necron trooper have left anyway? Because that is a pretty viable option.

What is wrong with you? Let's try to keep this thread civil and humane.

Back on topic, I would say a Space Marine for the simple fact you would live as a bad ass for a short time or a long time. Although I would need to pick my chapter colour to ensure I looked good doing so.

Chaos Space Marine of the Word Bearers. I may be atheist in real life, but those guys have proof of their gods and they have style to go with it. Plus, I don't have to mono-worship one of the Chaos Gods- I get to venerate all 6 of them equally.

Nothing, they're little more than mindless servitors now. And unlike other factions in W40K, it's impossible to rank up.

being immortal or having a seriously long life would probably turn me into a deranged lunatic however if i had a choice I would be a human - but a psyker - and a member of the inquisition, I would probably start as a puritanical executing the radical, then going radical, and then back to puritanical!

Either:

An ork. No stress, and the unhappiest moment I. Your life is when you finished a fight and can't immediately see something else worth fighting.

A tau. Working for something worthwhile. Well looked after, little stress and a direction in life.

A human. either a propper rogue trader with a propper mark so I can do what I like when I like how I like, preferably a perpetual to boot, or sticking to the rules, a farmer on an agri world. Safe from most attacks as agriworlds are well defended, but well fed, with a good job. Agriworlds seem the ideal place to live.

One of those. Not sure which.
