Dark Eldar most def, see even the Kabalite Warriors and other grunts get to have a hell of a time filled to the brim with sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll and the ocational genocide.

And if I could choose profession I would definently choose something involving flying really fast things and blowing up tanks before I'm even seen.

Of course it would be a horrible life in the universe for the vast majority of people in Warhammer 40k, and if I HAD to live their I'd sadly have to give it up to the Tau Empire, Tau or Human it's the nicest place to live for most people.

However, if I I got to have a little fun... I've had the urge to purge things as of recent, perhaps commit a little Exterminatus, so I'd have to go Human, but only if I could be an Inquisitor

I would want to be an astartes from a dead chapter, who was in the deathwatch until i was assigned to a Rouge trader ship as his watcher.

Free from chapter loyalty, and mostly free of all constraints from the imperium, working under an incredibly rich guy who would always be scared of me finding him heretical and chopping him up would be about as free and fun a life you could have in the 41st.

There's no 'good choice' as the 40k universe is pretty much you're boned no matter what. However, I'm sure the Tau Ethereal have it best so that'd be my call.

I would be a Tyranid. They are one super-organism and I would therefore be the Hive mind because there are no individuals in the swarm. Also even if I were just a Hormagaunt I can go into the pupa stage and emerge as a more advanced Tyranid. Then repeat until I am the the most highly evolved bio-construct in the hive, the Queen. Then it's time to lay eggs.

Assuming I could choose my station in life, I'd want to be a Rogue Trader.

Failing that, perhaps a Mechanicus Adept of some sort, or a Xenos Inquisitor.

If my social position was a crapshoot, probably an Ork. Out of all the races of 40k, they seem the most likely to get a happy ending.

Sure, Daemon Prince-hood sounds nice, but it's almost a guaranteed certainty that you won't make it. You'll get back stabbed by some other power-hungry bastard, or the capricious god or gods you serve decide to drop you like a hot potato for the hell of it, or you get killed by an alien or a servant of the Emperor, or you can't quite handle all the Chaos Gifts and you degenerate into a Chaos Spawn...

And even if you do manage to achieve Daemonhood, then what? You're still bound in eternal service to cruel, uncaring gods, you're still trapped in endless war against other servants of cruel, uncaring gods, and was it ever stated that once they gave you Daemonhood, the Gods couldn't undo it? And they've been known to sacrifice Greater Daemons in the past, what's stopping them from using you the same way?

Outside of perhaps some minor xenos, the Eldar have the best living conditions by far, are extremely egalitarian, can still have sex, aren't unpleasant to look at, and Craftworlds tend to be rather safe places to live, with direct assaults on them being rare.

The living conditions on Chaos worlds suck absolute balls and all the chaos space marines have an insane love of self harm or pain, Ork society is all the violence and slapstick of Football Hooligan and Howling Barbarian lifestyles with none of the companionship, most Tyranids and Necrons can't even think (and again, none of the simple enjoyments of the flesh or companionship), Imperial society is rife with colossal social injustice, and the Tau are strike me as perhaps a bit too austere.

As for the Dark Eldar, I'd rather not live in a society where the concept of love is alien and murder, betrayal, rape, and torture are the basis of society. I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority of Commorragh's population has faced sexual assault at some point in their life.

Enjoy being the whipping boy of literally everyone else above you on the chain of command.

Chaos Space marines seem to be universally extremely abusive of their cultist cannon fodder as a whole, freely maiming, raping, torturing, killing, or sacrificing them whenever they feel bored or need to take out their frustrations.

From what we've read, mortal commanders are no better and are every bit as mean spirited and abusive towards their lackeys.

Chaos needs labor unions.

Occupy the Eye of Terror.
