Hello there!
It seems the new knight titans are up for preorder on the GW website, personally i love the model and the price does not seem to bad either, compared to things like the lord of skulls

What are your thoughts on the newly released knight model? Whether it be about rules, appearance or cost, speak your mind!

Here are some images for your convenience!

I love the look of it. I'd like it more if it had the size to back up it's "Superheavy" status.

It being much shorter than the Wraithknight is disappointing.

They are NOT titans.

Other than that I'm so so about them, its nice they have proper models, but they shouldn't have rules for std. 40k

I thought they were Escalation only? I don't suppose they intended to allow everyone to field these puppies in standard non-escalation matches. After all, they even have the IB rule and strength D weapons whose rules are only found in Apocalypse and Escalation.

EDIT: on an unrelated side note, I do think the Knight looks a bit too top-heavy, but only slightly so.

I'll go with "its alright". I think the model is interesting but as Tau I don't have a good answer to them in my regular lists so I really don't ever want to see one across the field from me (my railgun hammerhead is only 1 shot going up against a 4++, melta can't get in 2d6 range without getting charged unless I deep strike it in, and the sky ray needs a 5 to glance).

Not excited at all, the models look stupid (Knights have always looked derpy), they're probably heinously expensive and as usual if you don't play Imperial you're gak outta luck.

They're good.
Rules-wise, I think we were all hoping for them to be a Monstrous Creature to be an Imperial match for Wraithknights and Riptides. Instead, we got a superheavy with a Strength D close combat weapon that means many people automatically will not want to play against it.

size comparison:

note the Eldar is smaller (and therefore more zoomed out than the space marine). Does that mean the Imperial Knight is smaller than the Wraithknight? Intuition tells me the Imperial Knight is no taller than the Wraithknight's neck.

Heh. I knew the knights have been around for quite a while. But I must admit the resemblance to the older models are quite uncanny as well. I wasn't exactly claiming GW had stolen the aesthetic in the first place or anything. I just thought they looked dang similar.

I have no real interest in it. Although they are painted to a similar knightly style I want to do the dream forge leviathans in when i get round to it. But im a bit meh about it. Not something I want really. I just want more infantry and a gaurd codex.

On a sidenote, if it helps your wallet, the Imperial Knight only looks so awesome because it has been painted in a beautiful blue-gold scheme. The other variants look ugly as .

Also, assembling this will probably be a , let alone painting it properly.

Hell, no.

As for the miniature, I said it in the N&R thread. It's beautiful. Probably the best vehicle GW has designed in quite a while.

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but the majority of recent GW's plastics have been a joy to assemble, and I happen to think it looks unfailingly awesome in every colour scheme I've seen presented. Every model rewards being well painted, and not everyone is fortunate enough to have the time and skill to invest in reaching those levels, but these kits are a splendid canvas and I suspect we will see more than a handful entered into Golden Daemon this year (assuming GD doesn't get cut as part of the ongoing efficiency drive of course!)

Actually, it looks pretty easy to assemble, and also easy to paint as the armour plates (which you colour) are all separate from the actual mechanical body. So you can assemble it all without attaching the armour plates, paint it silver, wash, etc, then paint the armour plates separately.

Will make it nice to airbrush. Won't have to mask things, just paint them before gluing them on

Pleasantly surprised. The design is perhaps overly ornate, but that's quite fitting I guess. I prefer the aesthetic of the Dreamforge Leviathans to the Knight though.

Looks amazing, will buy it just in the hope that GW follows this trend of making fuffy models just for gaks.

Anyone know who these can ally to and whether they can be used in non-Escalation games?

Using the pictures earlier in the thread, assuming the eldar and the space marine miniature are the same height in game (not sure on that one. I haven't seen enough eldar models to know), and that the Wrathknight and the Knight are actually scaled the same as their respective troop models in the picture, the Wrathknight is ~30% taller than the Knight.

A more direct comparison is that the Knight should stand about even with those black vent looking things on the Wrathknight's chest.

P.S. I figured this out by opening the images in paint and measuring how many pixels tall each miniature was by drawing a line from the bottom of the base to the top of the model. It's a great rough and ready way to estimate scales.
