IMO it doesn't fit the guard, however it may look good for an Arbites force. Like a tracked riot van. I can see that working in black and gold with a Judge Dread vibe.

Also, online only codex???? Eh? That's very very odd, unless it's online pre-order only to stop it leaking...

I know I am going to take flak from this but I really like the Taurox. I agree it might need some wheels either 4 of them or just the front two to make a half track but I think it looks great.

Keep in mind though that I use the IG codex as tourney legal Arbites so I am also excited for the possibility of an all stormtrooper army.

The prices on the new stormtrooper guys are pants but I use the 2ed Arbite models with a few Necromunda enforcers thrown in so I have all of my infantry

Replace one or both sets of tracks with wheels and that tank will look pretty good I think. Interested to see if the variant has wheels or 2 sets of tracks also.

Unsure about the apc. It looks like they've tried to create an Imp Guard mrap like the NATO forces use in Afghanistan.

The troopers look rather nice. Should make nice veterans.

The "Collector's Edition" codices have been "online only", the Crimson Slaughter and other supplement "codices" are online only as well.

It essentially means that it's not a "regular stock" item. A shop might have them at the initial launch in small numbers, but otherwise it has to be special ordered.

I find it worrying that a codex supplement is supposedly getting a release before the "proper" Imperial Guard codex. Black Legion didn't get released before Codex : Chaos Space Marines, so I find this....odd.

If Stormtroopers can be taken alone, that is actually quite useful- pair the stormtrooper mini-book with Inquisition for Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. Run it with Knights as Skitarii. Run it with other Imperials as Arbites. Given the names, it will at least have stormtroopers, Stormtrooper command squads, and the Taurox.

I actually like the Taurox. It looks big, bulky, and utilitarian, and the turret on top seems to have the chem cannon off the hellhound variant. In addition to stormtroopers, it looks big enough to carry around ogryn, much better than the Chimaera.

Stormtroopers have some good variety it looks like. The cover has a sarge with ccw, 2 guys with cabled hellguns (like the Kasrkin), one with a plasma gun and one with a melta gun. Also heavy armored torsoes, and backpacks on all of them. It would have been nice for them to stay at the $25 for 5 price point as the other command squads, but at least they aren't $40 or $50 for 5.

Wow. That new vehicle is just awful. Not only is it an ugly design by itself, it doesn't fit at all with the existing IG concepts. Did GW fire all of their marginally-competent sculptors and replace them with the CEO's small children?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I am... incredibly wary at this point. The Taurox does not look good. It lacks the strong tanklike aesthetic that's hitherto been a thread running through most of the Imperial Guard line. Instead, it's tall, boxy, with a very unique and odd suspension.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Chapterhouse sells some really cheap wheels that are intended for use with their wheeled chimera kit. It looks like you could easily swap those out.

It is cool if it doesn't fit the existing IG concepts because it is now the Astra Militarium . Guess' we will have a dedicated army for CoD/Battlefield players instead of an army for WW1/WW2 fans...

Also, the Taurox is a MRAP with 40k bling. I can't decide if I like it or not though .

The taurox, well I won't deny, looks pretty poor from this shot, but I'll reserve judgement for later. I can't see it uprooting the Chimera easily, which is a decent looking transport.

As for the stormtroopers, well, what I can see looks nice, not $70 for ten nice, but nice. Kind of what I expected however, thankfully I've got twenty metal stormtroopers, so if they're half decent now, and as a possible troop, I'd consider one or two boxes, if they're close enough in aesthetic to kasrkin, and spread them around for the obligatory HQ and some more special weapons.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Well, Dale Stringer and Tom Walton, collectively, did the Imp Knight, and did the Furioso Dread and DEldar Venom individually, Dave Thomas brought us... Sammael and Ratling Snipers.

I think that there are three sculptors, two of whom seem to have a track record of pretty decent looking plastic kits, one who doesn't seem to have done so much, suggests where any faux pas may originate from.

But, three sculptors? Is that usual? This is a <£30 kit, not a new Superheavy.

I'll also be curious to see how big the Taurox is. If it dwarfs the Chimera and the Russ, the entire army will have an aesthetic problem. And it well might, because that thing looks pretty high.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Can't see enough of the troopers to judge, although given my general dislike of cadians on the whole I don't expect wonders.

The Taurox is just horrible on so many levels. It comes nowhere near fitting the current IG aesthetic. All other IG tanks have single sets of treads, are generally pretty squat and have fairly harsh lines. The Taurox doesn't fit any of those.

The naming is also stupid. Astra Militarium was bad enough but Militarium Tempestus is just ridiculous. It basically translates as 'soldiers of storm', which is just beyond stupid, only a way to avoid Star Wars analogies. Also, Taurox is a stupid name, again not fitting with any of the current naming conventions.

It was said to be Land Raider sized. . Yet listed at 48 usd.... That doesn't add up. By GW standards I calculate it is scaled approx equivslent to epic scale.

sculpted like you find some vehicles for the military

nobody wins the test, but they decide to take the turret from one, body from another and suspension from the third and just bosh them together

Yeah, the name is daft as well.

Taurox... They do realise that they have an army called Tau, don't they? Also that the aforementioned Tau have a unit called a Krootox in it.

It's meant to evoke connotations of bullishness (eg Taurus) and it kind of fits with the naming convention of IG vehicles being named for mythical creatures, apart from the Taurox is one of Gw's own creation I believe?

Still, fits with don't call anything something you can't claim ownership of we are seeing recently.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that the Bang Bus might be an assault transport for the Bullgryns. Either way it looks ridiculous.

I want to see up close pics of the troopers and sprue pics as well before I can say anything about the kit.

The truck however is probably the worst looking release since the stormraven. It isn't even logical, those small sections of tracks look downright silly. It should have been a wheeled vehicle or at least a half track of some sort.

Maybe, but it's labeled the "Militarum Tempestus Taurox Prime/Astra Militarum Taurox".

I'm wondering if the 'Tempestus' tag suggests they're looking at different books for the military forces from different parts of the Imperium... One for each segmentum.

Eh, as far as I can tell from the blurry pics, that does not look like an Imperial vehicle. At all.

Would probably make for a decent Ork wagon though...

We need a scale comparison, I'm sure FW has a suitable replacement.

Some people have interpreted as it meaning "Military Storm" aka stormtroopers
