Tempestus is listed as online only, so supplement rather than out and out book by the looks.

Vehicle looks to be about the footprint of an ork truck, only far higher and enclosed.

I shall loot the shiz out of it. No idea about the rest though, if this is the 'new imperial guard' then why have just a couple of boxes and a new codex for them listed? These waters are still very muddy.

Weekly release schedule dude, its a Brave New World - there could be another 5 weeks worth of stuff in the pipeline for all we know (there isn't, but there could be!)

Id of though Militarum Tempestus is a new faction of guard in the same vein Cadian and Catachans are. Given that the ugly vehicle can be made in either Tempestus (possible subfaction) or militarum (generic guard?).

Looks like a codex for a new IG regiment. Odd release.

Chaosed up IK? I can believe they'd run a new model converted up to go with an army it can't be fielded alongside on the cover.

Wait - so the Militarum Tempestus Scions are the IG Veterans box? I can't really make anything out from the super dark pics.

And that giant armored Truck/Tank is $48 while the paint-pot sized dwarf gyrocopter is $45?

I think it is riding on four little separate tracked sections.

I also think it looks really goofy.

Not quite, that would be the Storm Trooper codex...

Wow, I thought I would be more excited to see the first IG pics come out...

I am tempted to paint the new ugly tank yellow, and have a "Brazzers" sign on one side, "Bang Bus" on the other. Just for the lulz.

It's a strange choice, I will likely tend to it and take away the tracks at the front, perhaps widen and lower the model altogether.

Anytime you have to instantly start planning to do that much with a stock model, I'd consider it a fail. For instance, I didn't like the Storm Raven but it was at least OK as is IMO. The storm talon on the other hand is irredeemable. This one from the look of it will fall in the latter category as well. I'll reserve final judgement for when I see better pics of the model but so far the first impression is really, really bad.

Oh god, I'm trying so hard not to care about the stupid names. 'Militarum Tempestus Scions'. Seriously? I think I just burst a blood vessel in my eye.

What is the Taurox for? Just for Ogryn? Why would we need another transport?
Taurox brainstorming session:

Design Guy A: Ok, half-tracks are cool, right?
Design Guy B: Yeah...yeah, kids love half-tracks I imagine.
A: Right, so what would be twice as cool as a half-track.
B: I have no idea, but I love where this is going. Hit me!
A: Full. Track.
B: Mind blown, I have no words.
A: I just get these ideas sometimes, I'm no hero.
B: Wait, wouldn't that be just like a tank.
A: Ha, no we'll make it much stupider looking than that.

What the hell...? It looks like something that pushes its way through heavy snow. The Arbite suggestion is good, but that thing is pretty bad.

And all this new naming convention stuff is absurd. And that 'tank'? It doesn't appear to fit with any existing Aesthetic. And GW were on such a roll...

Huh? Hardcover, 72 pages, $49.50 usd, and just for (a single unit of) stormtroopers? Doubt it.

If the LotD online was $17, and the hardback IK was $41 (for 2 units essentially).... I believe we are looking at the new guard codex.

It is however listed as a direct order (online) only which makes it less likely to be the full guard codex...

Kind of like 60 pages for one titan? Or 60+ pages for possessed at troops? Or 60+ pages for.. well anything that has been a supplement since supplements came back?

Tempestus = Stormtroopers. OK, I hope for some good rules. The picture is dark, but Kasrkin still looks better.

You think GW made a $50, 72 page codex, for an elites choice? At least the IKs can be an army, or ally, and the $41 IK ARMY codex has more info then a 72 page codex could for a stormtrooper (elite) choice....

The Imperial Fists codex was full price.

It does sound like Storm Troopers, the whole "Tempestus" thing sounding very stormy. But it is odd that it would come out before the IG codex itself.

Though if this is a new supplement codex (Inquisition-ish in nature perhaps) it would have the most kits for any non-full codex yet right? Knights got one dual kit, inquisition got nothing, Sentinels and Clan Rak got nothing either. Meanwhile there are atleast the two dual kits mentioned in the pictures with the potential for more the be released in the followed WD Weekly.

On moon miranda.

The new vehicle looks seriously slowed. Like, 200% slowed.

That said, if this is a Stormtrooper or Stormtrooper-esque codex, all will be forgiven. The IA12 assault brigade list has been something I was looking for for years, and a whole codex would be awesome.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

Odd name for an ork release on that vehicle.

I have never been a fan of Gee Dubs vehicles, all scrunched up and chibi looking...but this really takes it to a new extreme.

They look like they started off trying to make a Tonka version of a IVEMA Gila

Spoiler:

Then someone thought this would be better

Spoiler:

And then they decided to put headers on the outside like it was a T-bucket Ford...

For some reason though, someone else decided to put on the obligatory exhaust stacks as well...

Add to that the quick to open pressure hatch doors with a wheel that would be fun to try to turn 10 feet off the ground in combat (I guess to discourage guardsmen from attempting to remount the vehicle) and the almost entirely pointless brush guards.

Although I can understand to some extent the appeal of the knights, this just looks like chibi butt with absolutely no direction. If I had to guess, there will be a kitchen sink bit on the frame for stowage.

The upside I guess for ork players is that it costs less than a battle wagon, and looks to just need an orky paint job to be done.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
In fairness, for $49.50 codex, you would get three units.

Storm Troopers, Storm Trooper Command and the fugly mobile.
