It has dual punisher cannons or maybe double assault cannons but. the vehicle appears to looks like tracked hot rod so it should run faster than kitty chimaerae meow

having feline decor. will it be Scions exclusive or can normal IG have it too?

TL Punisher cannon would go a long way to healing the wounds of a terrible model. Also if it was a fast vehicle. Probably not an assault vehicle though

On BOLS its name appears in a picture: Tempestus Scions Taurox Prime/Militarum Taurox. So I think that normal guard squads can use it but with a different load-out.

I really hope that they do not require this "codex" to run Stormtroopers as allies with Codex: IG. If that is the case, my old Stormies and Kasrkin could risk going on eBay.

However, people are right that the truck (or should I say trukk) have a lot of looting potential. With a few bits and conversions, it could look proper Orky.

We don't know that's what it is, yet. But looking at the size of it, and the size of the doors, I suspect not. As mentioned earlier, it smacks of command vehicle to me.

Orgryns need bigger vehicles.

Taurox appears to be Scion-exclusive APC to me.

I think the thing has some serious potential, just not for IG...

I may have to pick one up to tinker with

Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts

Well... Looks like most of the rumors are correct. At least the stuff I was hoping for. But I do not like the seperated tracks on the transport. The transport's body looks kinda cool so if I buy one I will convert it to wheeled. The storm troopers also... the armour looks like Gothic plate, yeah I know they are going for a Gothic style with the names and all, but the armour design died for a reason. It works for Empire knights, but not IG.

To be positive! The Berets look really cool. Mix the arms and the heads with some Victoria Minitures flak armour bodies and I will have some cool Storm Troopers.

Nah! I don't see anything wrong with Imperial Guard with quad track vehicles. several Scifi settings i've seen before has these kinds of vehicle.

It seems the vast majority of you are excited about the new models. I for one am pretty disappointed. It appears that both the Stormtroopers & the new vehicle were designed to match armies with Imperial Knights aesthetically & IG being a afterthought. I'm happy for Ork players as I can see some creative stuff being done with the new vehicle, but yeah... I'll be passing on everything shown so far.

The Vehicle looks like kind of police vehicle to me. Chuck some Criminals in the back then drive away. Not for my men though.

I like the storm troopers, but for that price I dont like them enough to buy. I will change their heads though if I did get them.

The codex however I am really looking forward to.

Personally I am not a big fan of either kit, because they do not fit my current army aesthetically. That being said I will have to hold my judgement off until I can see the rest of the new releases as well as the scale of the new vehicles. But I am not happy so far either...I mean what was wrong with the Imperial Guard....now its Astra Militarum

I'm really in two minds about the trruck, if someone does a good mod with wheels i would be more okay with it i think, i don't like the retro stormies uniform, really out of place with any themed guard unit. I think i may get another vendetta before the codex drops if i'm honest, then i can have all the troop transport i can manage.

I am all over it, personally. I love the name change. Makes it feel more gothic and army-like. Imperial Guard seems like something you or I could do on a weekend twice a month.

It's same reason Sisters of Battle got renamed. It fits the overarching them of 40k better, IMHO.

Taurox Prime? Does it transform into a Riptide?

It also seems IG AM are being bolstered by Doctor Strange! With a ruff!

The Bull Ox suffers from a mortal disease gnawing at 40K lately - a need to cram everything onto a minimum number of sprues, causing violent chibification. Take the same concept (maybe sans the tracks), design it with proper dimensions, scaled to fit with IG infantry, and it could've been a nice-looking vehicle. As it is, it's been compromised by sprue-pinching in the same way as the chibi-Storm Raven, the chibi-Stormtalon, or the chibi-Heldrake.

Astra Militarium. (Latin for Starship Troopers ) better name than the Imperial Guard but it needs a bigger effort to rebrand them. (Stormtroops were latinized too! Militarium Tempestus)

so for anti-Taurox movements. Why the vehicle, or any quad track vehicles are considered 'out of place' for the IG?

It looks a lot like a tracked version of the hover trucks from mobile suit gundam 08th MS team, if I ever start my tau army I'm definitely allying one of these in as a comms team.

You are not the only one. I hate that chest plate and the Ork shoe box IG quad of sadness, they are going to cost me way too much money converting to even make them worth my time, Maybe after I see some in person or get a chance to buy some used ones I might change my mind. Til then, no thank you. I probably won't even buy the book.

Cozy cockpit of an Archer ARC-5S

The new storm trooper look is pretty sweet, it's a nice blend of the 2nd edition plastics, their replacement metals, hints of the Kasrkin and above all else, a style of their own. I like them.

Also digging the codex cover, a commissar, yes!

As for the Taurox.. I may get one as a riot suppression vehicle or the like, depending on the weapon options. While it does not fit in with the rest of the Guard motorpool, it has some things going for itself, including plenty of lion iconography, which has more or less been established as the totem animal of the Imperial Guard in art for some time now, glad to see them finally putting it to use.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

The Stormtroopers look very, very nice!

The vehicle... urghh.. it's very ugly, the tracks jar with the chassis of the vehicle aesthetically. All in all it's just not a good design. Might be salvageable with some cheap 1/32 scale tank kit and just use the tracks from that with it.

'Astra Militarum'?! Think you can safely predict at least 4-5 different codecies now from what used to be just 'Imperial Guard' !
