it seems that the pricing have gone full slow. Storm troopers are less expansive in Canada than Australia, while the vehicule is more expansive in Canada than Australia. Doesn't make any sense at all

I'm just trying to take breathing deep calm breaths while waiting for more pic leaks.

The ST kit will most probably come with helmeted heads reminiscent of the pimp squad leader from the leaked pics.

If not I for one will just equip them with heads from FW "Cadian infantry squad with respirators upgrade pack".

Legal, there is legislation for proxies now? You can keep your tournament 'laws' to yourself, there is absolutely nothing preventing proxies in 40k nor any other wargame.

personally if I use one of the (IF!) I will be using a BA-10 model.

I don't mind the ST berets but their proportions just don't look right, even worse than normal I mean.

I think the "soldiers of storm" translation is probably more accurate. If you call them storm troopers you can't sue anyone who tries to use the name, if you put the name into google translate and claim ownership of it your legal department will be a lot happier. And so what if it sounds stupid, BUY GW PRODUCTS.

But this also means that competing companies can that much more easily go whole hog and call their products "Imperial Guard" and "Storm Troopers." Not that you couldn't before, but now GW is even abandoning what it says it owns. So go nuts people. Once GW puts out Codex: Astra Militarum, use Imperial Guard all you like.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

Interesting that these new Scion lads and their transport use the Thunderbolt symbol, that's something that belongs to the Steel Legion.

Forget getting a better view of the Taurox, I want to know what shooting profile that twinlinked gun has.

I probably shouldn't be optimistic given that the last two times I saw a minigun (please don't kill me If I'm wrong) style weapon, the Grey Knight Psilencer and the Dark Talon Mega Bolter, I was extremely disappointed to find out the profiles for both sucked.

Surely they can't screw it up again? Surely its going to be actually better than a TL heavy bolter? Please?

I doubt it's a twinlinked punisher, as even the LRBT only mounts a single punisher in its (much larger) turret.

It really, really, looks like a twin linked assault cannon, which would make this the first IG (or, I guess, AM) unit to mount an assault cannon since second edition. (the Marauder bomber mounts a TL-AC as its rear gun, but that's Navy, not guard).

It could be a new weapon, but I'd be surprised. The iconic weapon family for IG are las-weapons (and to a more specific extent grenade launchers and autocannons), and I'd bet that any new weapon for IG would be built around laser tech. This ain't a laser, so I'm gonna go with Assault Cannon.

The Valkyrie in the picture had it to. I thought that it was steel legion or it was used to denote FA units?

My birthday is ruined... I was so excited seeing this on Faiet this morning, especially after rumours of it being inspired by forgeworlds' Malcador tanks. I love my guard and this really makes me sad... its just such a missed opportunity for a new bad ass apc. Every time GW release a kit is should wow people like the Knight release otherwise people really have to question why they are paying a premium for this crap.

They've been multi-barrel cannon happy lately.
Storm talons, Forgefiends with the Hades, Riptide's HBC, and even the Deathshroud speeder had one in the worst possible spot.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Reminds me more of a support type vehicle than a fighting one though, like a Morris with tracks, apologies if anyone else has made this point, I went to bed last night when the thread was up to 8 pages and I've just fallen back into it!

still, for those converters out there who just can't leave a 'stock' model alone it'll be fun to see what can be done with it

Yeah, like a cross between an MRAP and a Stryker or LAV-25.

Still going to need some of the bling scraped off too, though.

In theory, this new truck is for the Ogryns, right? The big beefy guys with shortlil' legs? If so... why did they jack it up so high? The boarding ladder is nightmarish for Ogryns, and the door hatch is so very, VERY small that they'd never fit.

Ogryns need this, more or less:

Armored, well-armed, wheels protected, driver and gunner protected, turret on the top for firepower but also side-mounted guns for a proper "Broadside", and most important of all:

A rear-mounted assault ramp for embarking/disembarking that's large enough for even an Ogryn to fit through (with a little head-ducking) and doesn't trip their stubby-legged selves in the process.

That's not even going into the issue of a turret that can't rotate, blind spots, or general top-heaviness. If this is some sort of riot-supression vehicle, it's gonna get pushed over in *seconds*. GW should be able to do so much better.

I think they just found a box of 2nd edition marine transfers.

Is that a gun mounted on the side of the Taurox or just stowage?

Yes, this.

Can't be arsed with 40K anymore. There's too much to wrap your head around.

Agree with this as well. But Flash, I'm guessing you were raised, like me, on a diet of British war films and commando comics! Those new storm troopers are a thing of beauty! GW deserve credit for those models.

That being said, that transport thingy looks a mess. It reminds me to much of the A-team's van. I like the A-team, but those tracks look weird.

Great. Now I have an idea for what to do if I ever build an Inquisitor and his retinue, complete with black Taurox with a red stripe.

GW has a copyright on Space Marine remember?

I was hoping the new name was just gonna be the insetting faux-Latin name rather than the actual Codex one.

That symbol is a campaign army badge, that as you said, has been used by a variety of Imperial Forces since 2nd Edition (possibly before, but I'd have to go check my White Dwarfs).

Ok, so Militarum Tempestus Scions are Storm Troopers or Super Storm Troopers? The kit is Scions/ Command Squad, but not a Militarum Tempestus Scion Command Squad.
So will there be a different Militarum Tempustus box?

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I'm going to have to reserve my opinion on the truck; at first glance it looks like a monstrous affront to good taste and the human eyeball, and not in a "so-bad-it's-good"/OTT-grimdark way. Buuuut, I'm not sure how much of that is down to three relatively minor aspects; the stupid skull-grill(which takes the other fairly interesting gothic design elements like the headlights too far), the ridiculous squarewheel mini-treads, and that awful, awful, awful paintjob. Turquoise, red, gold, AND dark-green? *vom*

I don't know what's going on with the "Weather Army Sons" or whatever the new stupid name for Stormtroopers is. Packaging them as a dual-box with the command squad seems like nothing more than a cynical excuse to charge ludicrous amounts of money for them. I get that the beret heads were an attempt to harken back to the 2nd Edition plastics, but they just seem completely out of place on models with such ornate armour, and if the helmeted alternate heads look anything like the one on the character figure in that picture - ugh.

So far, this is a huge anticlimax after the Knights.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. Forgeworld will change their pull down website menus and bag stickers and FFG will simply copy paste the new name into upcoming titles (although I'd doubt they'd change it in existing published ones). My two cents.

The grill has lions on it, as does the Scions banner, so I assume there will be other grill options, along with the lion side plate.
Little bit annoyed as I was going to be using a lion rampant throughout my IG. Now I will go with my second choice, a drunk badger flipping everyone off affronte.

Sort of holding out for their being a box of 10 Tempestus Militarum/ Veterans, now that I think about it. We might be seeing Storm Troopers as troops or elites and Scions as elites or an upgrade to elite Storm Troopers. It would fit with the Cadian and Catachan box set up.

The old 2nd Ed. Beret Storm Troopers came with a decal sheet that had the Lightning Bolts on them. It's like they are using both that symbol and the berets to tie them in, in a way.

I'm conflicted. I have a huge IG army, but I no longer really play. However, just because I haven't played in a year, doesn't mean I don't have an army ready to go, the current codex, and all the models I need to field a modern build.

This new IG book plus supplements is where I'll need to either put up or shut up. I"m looking at A hundred bucks just to get the new rules, far more to add the new models.

Do I cheap out, and only pick up the basic codex? Do I shelf the whole thing? It's tough.

Exactly my feelings as well. And frankly, I'm probably not getting much new toy wise. I'll probably just stick with the 'dex at first.
