No it was just designed to have a nice interior. I have my model with a removable top because it seems wasteful to glue it shut. Its just for looks.

That wasn't really a build, it was just showing the interior.

Yes. Isn't it nice? Too bad they're still points heavy so people will still not want to take them.

For 65 points you can add an Inquisitor with Hammerhand and rad grenades. You become S4, their toughness drops by 1. The true lolz now begin.

Really? Haven't taken mine off the sprue yet, but there are side rails that don seem to serve any purpose unless the rear is opened up. Ho hum.

The sculptor did say they basically let him go hog wild on the model, I assume that's part of it.

Krieg! What a hole...

Couldn't you always load Ogryns in a chimera? But needed an officer or a commissar closeby to do so?

The Ipad version is finally out & It clarifies the "Take Aim"-order:

It quotes the Precision shot rule fromm character section which clearly says that

So no allocating 50 shots to whomever you choose! (unless you roll that well.)

2 Things to question : First, of the ipad version you are using, are you using the english, or some other language version?

Second, if that is the case on the reading....what about the relic : Emprah's Benediction that confers precision shots? Said relic can only be taken by a character, who by default has 6's turned to precision shot. This reading of it makes said relic redundant, and a waste of points.

It's not meant to actually be built like that. You can leave the top off to show off the interior, but that's all.

You could deploy them in it but basically good luck getting them back in it after they got out.

For those who have the book, how much mention is there of other regiments?

It seems to shrink every edition. The best thing about the guard and its slowly being erased.

And the HWT new entry amazes me. They got cheaper by virtue of loosing the mortars they used to be equiped with. But now you have to buy them again so go back to the original price. It's changing stuff for the sake of changing :facepam: haven't they heard about KISS?
Also Harker got shafted we all know that but his HB was called "Payback" not

They did it so they could have a standardized heavy weapons wargear list.

Then why include parts that only work if you build it open-topped? If you do that it's clearly meant to have an open-topped build option. The only question is whether it's just a fun extra detail the sculptor included, or if we're going to get alternate open-topped Taurox rules someday (probably after everyone glued the tops on theirs).

Precision shot/barrage the priest. Or just cast terrify. The problem with 50 is that the formation is so unwieldy and easy to exploit. 30 is probably a much more reasonable number.

30 is a great number and super fluffy, but the other nice one is 25.

25 conscripts + 1 Commisar = 100 points.

"Many of you will not survive this battle! I will ensure that you will not dishonor your families!"

Punch it up to a full squad of 30, give the Commissar a bolter, 116 pts of "I *will* hold this objective!"

Then you just need regular IG to hold the back line while the rookie tide rushes up to take something midfield. "Nice meltagun squad you have there." *flashlight party* "Had there. Meant to say had there."

Bought my Codex tonight, and disappointed does not even begin to describe my feelings about it. No one mentioned that Mogal Kimar is also gone (I field rough riders so I care), Creed only gives 3 orders, rolls for 2 warlord traits, Nothing else! Reg adviser Astopath is now just a psyker with only Telapathy! All of my builds used these, plus Al'Rahem which I knew I lost. I could go on ranting about how much I hate this codex. I know others will be fine a like/love this codex. Good for them. But I will have to shelf my IG until the next codex. SoB for me!

I know how you feel about some of that. So far it sounds very disappointing. Especially the special characters. I mean, even the ones we kept.

There are some good bits and I guess im one of the lucky ones whose army isnt too affected, but next release im certainly not buying until I read whats in it to the full.

The new boxed sets are actually pretty good value.

In Australia at least, the Hammer of Cadia you're getting 3 Leman Russes, 3 Hellhounds and the Baneblade (I assume it makes all variants??) for the price of basically the Hellhounds and Leman Russes, so the Baneblade is pretty much free.

The Cadian Defense force you're basically getting the Heavy Weapons Team for free.

I'll probably pick both of them up from a discounter. Glad they kept the fugly Taurox out of them It would have been nice if they'd used the Demolisher Leman Russes though because I don't really need more Main Battle Tank variants.

Same reason they detailed the inside of the Rhino: just because.

Right. They even showcased the 'variant' in the Taurox lineup in their video.
(The open rear with railing, obviously the cab interior detail is just for fun).

To answer the question about the advisers, they come equipped with a CCW, however in the options section it states that any advisor can exchange the CCW for a laspistol for free.

And I haven't had a chance to read through my codex thoroughly yet but most all of the famous guard regiments are mentioned on one page, with images of them as well, and there is lots of artwork showing the different regiments in the art section. Once I have a chance to read over all the fluff I'll try and let folks know what it says, but I'm currently at work tonight so it'll be a while before I can get home and actually start working on the codex again.

I'll also try and answer any questions I can here as well working from memory.

Take it easy.

Doesn't the Imperial Navy Officer's special rules basically replace this while being more flexible and saving you from having to buy both upgrades?

Maybe Marbo is actually still in the codex but is just hiding.

Yes but he has to test for it now and he can only do one or the other.

Why would he hide in the IG codex, that's the first place anyone would look. He'll be hiding in Codex: Squats.
