Getting the strange feeling that you play the aliens in this game facing the human forces. Maybe modifying or evolving your forces. Or maybe I'm way wrong.

If you're right, I would definately buy this game. Barring unforeseen circumstances of course.

Playing as an evolving alien swarm could be fun.

The alien invasion theme has been done before from the Invader's perspective, but it's always kind of campy and tongue in cheek.

Would love a tough, no- nonsense approach as you attempt to devour your way to Washington or achieve some sort of foothold on Earth.

@MrBlack and @Frozenecho: You might want to mention the game on BoardGameGeek, then. I know coop games are popular there. CMON has a negative reputation, but I think Frozen's introductory post should explain why CMON is running the game. See Queen Games "Dark Darker Darkest" how NOT to discuss your game as a designer. Sadly, there are *very* good reasons why companies don't discuss their products before they're closer to the release date.

I'd really like to hear some more about how this game actually plays. Is there any kind of board interaction or is everything card based?

The MKIII “Plasma Arc” Shotgun was developed for close-quarter suppression and elimination. Capable of considerable damage, as well as the large sweeping arc of fire, make the MKIII one of the highest requested armaments by the NorTec Militia, to the degree that Weapon’s Research has often assigned full production departments to manufacturing of just this weapon.

Unfortunately, due to the Isuza Dynamics trade-coded Entropic-Fusion Core, the power-source of the weapon, no extreme modifications can be made to the existing design. Once Weapon’s Research cracks the tech of the Entropic Core, however, it should only be a matter of time before a number of improvements and modifications can be made to suit the needs of any landing.

Plasma weaponry is always welcome . Love the blue glow in the art. Some kind of upgrade equipment / card for the game, maybe?

KSA "Templar" Armor was originally designed as a mobile power conduit for some of NorTec's heavier arms, but has since been re-purposed to fit a larger range of battlefield needs. With its current generation, KSA Armor is not only capable of satisfactory protection of our battlefield troops, but also allows for "overcharging" of many of NorTec's designer weapons via a unique Power-Overload Conduit built into its frame.

When combined with even our most basic armaments the offensive power of the user rises considerably, making the KSA "Templar" Armor one of the finest achievements of the NorTec Armory.

Are those missile launchers built in behind the neck area? Seems kind of dangerous...

Tired of getting teased about this...

Wondering just how "soon" soon will actually be, what with Z3 making appearances soon...

Maybe once Dogs of War finishes?

Will all these items be persistent upgrades, or are they more instant effect type things?

So, not going to elaborate on any of those gameplay mechanics or anything, huh?

Appears so. After a certain point, just teasing information frustrates potential customers. That's when they forget about the project, and spend their money somewhere else.

So whiny.

I'm not because I'm asked not to until it goes up on Kickstarter, which is either this week or next I believe. I only got to play it because my store is in the same area as CMON (Atlanta).

I will say however, that's it's not like a card game I've played before, and the closest idea I have for it is Thunderstone, and even that's way off

Mr. Black was teasing something about letting us in on a secret when they hit 1000 likes on Facebook.

Supposedly he will reveal said secret today.

Knowing how he likes to tease the community.... that worries me. Still waiting on those Fellhammer and Hadross 3rd infantry sculpts there Black!

Be sure to post it up here since all of us can't hit up FB while we're at work!

Awsome... Level 7 Version 2...

Without miniatures I don't see this one doing perticularly well.

I am not entirely sure, depends on what it is, is it an LCC or a one off CC, do the game mechanics benefit from having a board and miniatures?

could be a nice deck building/ card drafting game in there.

Treating a card game like THE summer blockbuster at the Super Bowl probably isn't the best way to build the hype machine. You do that with Zombicide, not an unknown property that isn't in CMON's wheelhouse. Regardless, the reference to solo play has me interested enough to check it out.

BGG lists it as having the following mechanics.

Card Drafting
Co-operative Play
Deck / Pool Building
Variable Player Powers
Worker Placement

And gives the following description.

"A Strategic Survival Horror game by CoolMiniorNot. In XenoShyft players take the role of the NorTec Military, charged with defending their base against the onslaught of the alien "Hive".

XenoShyft combines classic deckbuilding and resource management with fact paced combat and unique "base defense" elements- As the game progresses each player will build up their deck of Troops, Equipment, and Item cards, which they will in turn use to defend their base against incoming enemies in fast-paced and deadly combat.

It is up to the players to work together in order to outlast the horrors awaiting them by coordinating strategy, utilizing the strengths of their unique divisions (Med Bay, Weapons Research, Science Lab, and Armory), and organizing defense tactics to insure no player is caught off guard by surprise attacks.

XenoShyft is a game of tactical decisions and survival horror- and survival is never guaranteed."

Honestly... I've got no need for another deck builder, that perticular mechanic has been done to death.

It sounds like something I was toying with, although admittedly mine was building bases for offence not defense.

I disagree, its like complaining wargames use dice.

I will have to admit though its one of the rare cases where I would wish they made decent miniatures, because the design is nice.

No it's really not... 6 years ago deck building was new and exciting now there are roughly 500 games listed on BGG that use that mechanic. It's fairly tired and old. Thankfully we've been seeing a substantial decrese in the number of these games being released. If you take away the theme this sounds pretty much like Trains.

how so, it doesn't sound like trains to me,and besides that its a solid mechanism, I see nothing wrong in people using it, as I said like using dice.

Maybe they'll do some one off minis like they did the extra figures for Dogs of War?

I think if it's a cheap enough buy in, you could see this taking off as well. Aren't too many sci fi deck builders, and those that are tend to be focused on ships and planets rather than what's happening down on the ground.

Also, just in case Mr. Black needs reminding, it's May now...

Where was this said?

Here a comment from Percy Montblanc(guillotinegames) in the BGG Forum

Guys,
just to avoid misunderstandings.
The A-Bomb will be a real scaring monster.
We will disclose soon the full content of season 3
The zombies in season 3 are different (traditional but different)
What you read in the French forum is not entirely true smile.gif
The KS will be very likely at the end of June
thanks!

And CMON said in the Zc Season 2 KS they deliver first everything before they start the new KS.

CLASSIFICATION: "Shifter"

Of the numerous and varied offshoots of "The Hive" the Shifter has proven to be one of the deadliest. Initial reports show that this genus has developed highly intricate camouflage capabilities which give it the ability to seemingly disappear into any environment.

Worse yet, reports from the field note the creature specializes in infiltration tactics, always striking from the rear or attacking our troop's flanks. We believe, however, this tactic is carried over more from instinctual habits of whatever creature this particular breed evolved from rather than actual battlefield intellect.

It is worth noting, however, that should the opposite be true, and these attacks be found to be meticulous and/or plotting then our tactics against The Hive must be swiftly re-evaluated.
