I'm wondering if there's that Dark Ages link specifically for the purpose of manufacturing miniatures.

I don't think many of us would have any qualms with that. I would also assume anything that gets made in 3D for this game would be of similar quality to stuff like Rivet Wars and Zombicide, and I'd be okay with that.

Guess we'll find out in just a few days!

Would it make you happy to know that I can confirm this is happening?

He'll be used (in the game) as the first player marker.

I think Leif said it would be on a larger base 60-80mm but I don't recall specifically.

The game is a super fun time, fellas. I'm not typically a card game player, but this one had me pretty engrossed.

Well it's 13:27 (EDT) in Atlanta so plenty of time yet CMoN don't really have a set launch time but keep and eye out around 8 or 9 tonight (IST/BST)

That's assuming they have it approved with KS already and haven't just submitted it - they ran into that problem with the Zc 2 KS.

I'm expecting a massive amount of churn on this one

as many of the CMON mini game backers jump on without realising it's a card game

and then jump off as soon as they do (just because it won't come with a bucket of minis)

Well it's delayed not sure why CMoN think they can just submit a project and jump the approval queue.

from facebook

Today was supposed to be the launch of the XenoShyft Kickstarter, but our approval process has taken longer than expected (usually this is a quick process, but it can get delayed- not something that has happened to us before )

So unfortunately it seems that our launch has been delayed until next week- we'll let you know as soon as possible on the exact day.

mmm Zombicide Season 2 was delayed yes it has happened before due to late submission and expecting fast approval

Well that's not a work of genius (and as DaveC said not the first time either)

So I wonder who was meant to submit things last week but got distracted by the Expo ? a 'drone' who'll get in trouble, or a 'playa' who'll shrug it off

Barf. They should have learned their lesson about that by now!

Quite irritating, as next week is the last week of school and there's a million things to take care of. Plus I gotta head overseas for vacation, so I'm sure I'm going to end up missing an early bird. A shame because I totally had time to grab one today (staff softball game, kids are done for the day, grades are finished, a recipe for a perfect KS storm!).

Oh well.

So DaveC, I'm guessing we both backed in the first 2 minutes or so (although the backer number jumped from 5 to 35 by the time I put mine through).

For $45 (plus shipping later)... seems easy enough to pledge for now and think about closer to the end. The aesthetic is sweet, and if it's a fun game could be something neat to do with my gaming group.

Backer no. 1 seems like a good set for $45 I'm not looking to add much if anything to that and will see where it ends up in 13 days - it's CMoN it's exclusice central! It's fairly clear the card counters and that will get upgrades. D10s as wound trackers really they can do better than that.

Is Alpharius using Black Widow as his Avatar now?

I was using that avatar here for a bit too:

(Thanks Ouze!)

Before FW gave us a pic of...Alpharius!

(Thanks Tom!)

Also, at $56 USA with shipping, or $61 with no EB, this one might be a bit cheaper at retail.

Unless, you know, stretch goals and all that...

Well Alpharius, you are getting the Game ($60.00 MSRP), an exclusive miniature ($5-10 value, easily) and Four Folding Lane Boards ($15.00), so $85.00 worth of items for your $45/$50 pledge.

Of course that's before any stretch goals we happen to unlock- If people want to wait until retail that's fine, but there is extreme value to be had here

Don't know how I missed the whole 'lane boards' thing - even though it is right there in the pledge level box!

Wow, you are fast

I didn't realize it was only a 2-week campaign, have to make sure I have the money in my Paypal account for it (using the PP card) at that time.

Going to be curious to see what else is in store for us.

Like the idea of equipping my dudes to shoot up the bugs with various equipment.

Will be nice to get a card layout explanation.

Well don't forget they still have Zc 3 to launch end of June (although that might slip to start of July now) so 2 weeks is about all they can run and this is one of their smaller campaigns which normally only run for 2 weeks.

I'm not sure I understand: the "lane boards" look like they are integral to the game, why are they valued separately in the accounting above?

Aren't they the things framing the playing mat in the basic game?

Or are the boards simply duplicates of the sides of the mat? Not criticizing, simply confused.

Yes the laneboards are part of the big (EDIT: poster) but it looks like you get 4 separate ones and the mini gameboard top right (the centre of the board) so you have all the parts of the game board in separate pieces - you effectively get 2 game boards -1 intact 1 in parts more portable or for smaller tables etc. I guess It also means if you are playing less than 4 players you can set up with just the lanes required (just a guess mind) so 1 player 1 lane and the centre you don't need the whole big board.

Huh. Well, it looks like it funded in about an hour, so I guess that appeals to folk.

Some very odd wording in some of the campaign language, but I imagine it's meant to appeal to players of... whatever this game really is.

The Poster Gameboard is just that- a nice quality poster.

As you can (semi) see in the picture, the rubber-backed playmat (if you're familiar with other card game playmates, you know what this is) has all the necessary information for the board on it.

So that, combined with the four boards you're getting, re-create the gameboard- also has the nice effect of taking up less space for the space-conscious gamer out there.

So yeah that pretty much confirms that BUT the big board is actually the poster and the little centre part is rubber backed and the 4 lane boards go with that. Hmmm I hope they updgrade the poster as that's not going to wear well.

speaking of upgrades - pretty obvious one but only $5k

At $30,000 we'll be upgrading all the cardboard Ability and Health Markers to plastic sculpted ones for all boxes!

20 plastic Health Markers and 20 plastic Ability Markers 20 plastic Health Markers and 20 plastic Ability Markers

Hmm. If there'd been EB copies left, I'd go in on them, but just missed that, so... meh. I'll pay attention, but with reservation.

Not happy with a 'poster' as part of the game mat. Hope it gets upgraded, I know it seems petty but it's kinda a deal breaker for me.

It doesn't sound like the poster is needed at all really. With the mat and the lane boards, it seems like we've got all the main play areas covered.

I could be wrong though.

But the retail copy of the game, a $60 game, is going to ask that you play on a poster, or else shell out an extra $15! I just assume this is part of the "set low funding goal and under-spec" strategy, to give more stretch goals and further mitigate risk.

If ypu don't use the poster the lanes won't evenly fit around the board, it would look......odd. I've asked for a picture of there set up with the mat and board only, really dont want to be using a poster as part of my gaming experience.
