I mean, I'm not going to go back and forth with you two. I think it's appropriately priced foe the market, as it falls right in line with games like the Pathfinder Card Game.

I'm unconcerned with shipping, and I have amazon prime as well. And I pay for it every year. So it isn't like prime is free.

I don't think we're going to agree on this, so I'm not going to try and convince you otherwise. To me, phrases like "almost a joke" are pretty hyperbolic.

I'll also note that Dominion is incredibly bland and it would take a few top less models to convince me to play it.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Additionally, BattleCon: War Remastered is on KS right now for $50. So clearly the price point for this one is pretty close to where it should be.

Never said it was overpriced. I believe I said it was "fair". And dominion is a very bland game, but it appears to have a few more cards for (currently) half the price of Xenoshyft(at retail). Parhfinder(currently $45) and Marvel($48) are perfect comparisons as they both retail at $60.
Pathfinder has a rulebook and 495 cards(maybe other stuff), and marvel with a Rulebook, game board and 500 cards (plus 60 dividers). $45 for the components I listed above is perfectly fair, but add on shippng and no idea if the game will be fun to play more than once means I'll sit the kickstarter out. After a few reviews are out, I'll gladly take another look.

Spoiler:

Personally, it just looks like Plants vs Zombies the Deck Building game to me, but that's probably because it's a tower defense game. What other deck builders would you compare this to? Resident Evil/Thunderstone , but the mansion/Dungeon comes at you?

To be fair, the paper play areas of Quarriors and not providing a real mat is one of the most common criticisms of that game that I have heard. It's another game that's not the best value, but I have it because I love dice . I'd pay for mats for each player in a heartbeat, though.

I didn't realize that. We simply printed some out from the Internet and laminated them. We did the same with Marvel Dice Masters.

That's what I should do... but it's, you know, work! I just cut out the gaming mat from the various rulebooks I got from all the expansions.

Also, didn't mean to set you up for a debate in here, my bad . Just wanted your input since you sometimes have the inside scoop. Seems reasonable to agree to disagree on price... I'm in the middle on it. Given that this is a direct sale, CMoN is making significantly more than they would selling it through distributors. I don't necessarily want a discount for that, but seeing the value for the current price upped a bit by the end would of course be welcome. Happy to wait and see personally just not going to watch single card stretch goals with baited breath lol.

Well more updates from the KS front! The new stretch goals are offering more, next 5K are two new bosses instead of one, and the new "foil" 10K unlock is 5 KS exclusive heros instead of 1. So once we get to 75K there will be some KS exclusive stuff building and we are not getting a card every 5K now its like two cards. Thats got to count as something. Also some add one stuff play-mats. Not sure how big they are. Could someone add the links for the new stuff?

The mats are cool. As is "Killer Whale" Clay.

Black Bases and Grey Plastic Forever:My quaint little hobby blog.

40k- The Kumunga Swarm (more)
Count Mortimer’s Private Security Force/Excavation Team (building)
Kabal of the Grieving Widow (less)

Plus other games- miniature and cardboard both.

I would really love to see the big mech as a miniature in this campaign.

The "booster pack" of 5 hero cards is free, right? I was a bit bummed when I first read it as I thought it wasn't, but I think it is and just the mats are add-ons.

At $75,000 funding everyone gets the 5 heroes. They don't cost anything

Man, I love the artwork for this game. It's a shame that it's all only being used for cards.

Coolmini is in the business of building properties as much as it is stand-alone boargames. If the artwork and feel of the universe is a big hit, I see no reason why a future miniatures game in this setting couldn't happen. I'm not sure what Sedition Wars' status is with them, but it feels like they have a Sci-fi niche to go alongside Wrath of Kings.

It's been repeatedly mentioned that there's no talk of splitting like RK.

The art for this is fantastic, love the fact the items look like something you see in a fps or rpg type game.

Hopefully this will be another beloved group game for my gang of gamers. I'm in.

If I have to give advice to cmon on the KS as of late

Testimonials videos are not attractive, they feel like those crappy 3:00 am infomercials. And if you must do them, for the love of god, turn down the painful royalty free music in the background. I can barely hear the people.

Please someone tip them on that.

So 85k has been hit, there's new stuff coming at 100k.

Experimental Item Pack #2!

With mention of new add ons being available later today- another requested mini, something to protect cards with, other playmats...

and mention of Operation: New Horizon.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I'm in on this one with an EB pledge, but...it just isn't grabbing me, for some reason.

Not sure why.

For me it's the card layout... The art is good enough, not sure I'd say it's amazing but it's definatly good enough , but something about the card layout bugs me.

The gameplay video has actually put me off it doesn't appear to be something I'd be interested in from it card games generally aren't my thing I was hoping this would change my mind but it hasn't I'll hang in until the last day but I can't see myself backing at the end.

And yeah the testimonials are pretty cringe worthy and don't help sell me on the product.

Which testimonials are you referring to, DaveC (do you have a link?).

I was hoping to get your take on the game / gameplay, so if it doesn't appeal to you that may sway me. I've been planning to pay more attention closer to the end on this... but the above are giving me doubts.

As I said I've never been a massive fan of card games so I'm not the best person to judge this one and my bias against card games might be affecting that I want to like it but something says no €35 for the set on the last day might be to good a deal anyway but a possible €15 in shipping keeps it in the wait and see category.

Getting testomonials from people at a convention specifically geared towards your games is pointless... Of course people at your convention are going to like your game, they paid to be there after all.

As I had hoped, Defender suit miniatures have been added in to the optional purchases, as well as sleeves and new mat designs.

That's 500 card sleeves for 35. I believe they'll be labeled for which wave they go in as well.

What size is the 'Defender' - Space Marine Dreadnaught size?

That seems unlikely, given that it is the same cost as the "marine sized" model. I'm guessing they scaled it down? (I wonder if they are showing them accurately compared to one another in the pic above- in which case the Defender would be wider and shorter than the marine model).

I would gladly pay more if it meant that sucker is bigger and chunkier. I doubt I'd be alone in that regard as well.

I asked in the comments, haven't heard back yet. Will post here for sure when we get some numbers.

Stuff is starting to look pretty sweet for this. I assume the cards sleeves are a good deal but I haven't ever really looked into stuff like that. I kind of wonder what the next stretch goals will be seeing as we are getting pretty close to them. Would

love to see some sort of expansion. I would pay more for that, for sure.

I was told they "think" on a 50mm base and around 55mm tall.

Presumably, but as long as it's called a "first player token" or the like, I don't mind (but it also means that's all I'll use it for).

Leaning towards not staying in here- I try to not back out of kickstarters but due to the early birds I had to pledge first and decide later here.
